My mother received a call at her home for me from a so called Agent Brown and he provided a court docket number and advised I could return the call or would be sued in court. Unlike most of the complaints on here, I know I owe this payday loan from 2005 and as of right now have no funds to pay them. I called them back and spoke w/this so called agent and asked what court is this docket number from being I live in Dallas, Texas and asked for the name of the original loan company. Of course he couldn't provide either. I then advised him I would be contacting the Attorney General and the FCC to file a complaint. It's not illegal to owe money, nor is it illegal for them to contact me regarding the debt but it is illegal to mis-represent yourself, not provide your company name and other info needed to validate the debt. If they call you I suggest you do the same.

My problem is the same.  The funny thing is the amount is exactly the same $ 4271.15.  I could not find out what company supposedly gave me the loan.  I talked to a lady who said she would take care of it & then the next day I got an email with a threat that they would prosecute me in district  court.  I was going to call them tomorrow because I was very upset, but after reading this I figure I will ignore this scam.

Same idiots call me on and off, they have called my neighbors and different extensions at work. Paid Bayside $650 for a $400 loan and sent them cease letter over a year ago. I hate the calls but do enjoy riling them up...

So what happens if you did take a loan out from Fireside cash, defaulted and then filed Bankruptcy against them? They are now telling me that they can't be included in the Bankruptcy. Is this true? You would think Bankruptcy court would notify me if I couldn't have included them.
    Thanks

You can include them in your bankruptcy. If they call you, give them the name & # of your attorney & hang up on them. If it's in your bankruptcy paperwork, and gets discharged, you do not have to pay it back. You can also fax them a copy of the bankruptcy notice

Received an email from ACS with a file number stating " Debtor".. They said I owed $989.50 and I needed to respond via email within the next 48 hours. Court cost and legal fees would be approximately $4203.86.  Congress needs to get off their [***] and put a stop to this crap.. I pay for whatever a get and it's no problem, but, I'll be damned if some crook is going to scam me out of something I don't owe. BE AWARE CONSUMER!!!

They are a scam company. I took out a loan with Hydra Financial. Paid it in full with one collection company. Then this company calls, threatens to arrest me unless I pay $595. They got me hook, line, & sinker. I paid them 1/2 of what they told me was owed, over the phone. They sent me an offer letter via e-mail, but didn't realize until after the fact that there was no mailing address for them. Go to the Better Business website & check them out.   www.bbb.com

Also, another good source is of information about scam companies in general is:

    Fraud Company without a doubt
I had received a phone call from this ACS company last night not only on my phone, but also my husbands and mothers stating that I needed to call them back right away otherwise this would be turned over to my local courts to handle and I would owe additional costs for the filing fees, attorney fees, etc..  When I did call this company back I spoke with a Ms. Dawson who said that the original gentlemen who called was unavailable because of the amount of calls they were receiving but would try to see what this matter was about.  I was told that they were a personel investigator looking for me so this debt could be settled otherwise further action would be done to collect the funds.  When I asked who the original company was for the debt, a phone number for them, an account number, and a contact person I was told by this Ms. Dawson that they couldn't release this information but that she could only give me the date and dollar amount owed.  She said it was from 2007 and that I owed over $500.00.  She said that there was 3 options I could do about it.  One being I could pay it at the discounted rate, second being I could pay the entire amount owed which would be the right thing to do she said, or do nothing and they will turn it over to my local courts for them to persue.  She said I have 48 hours to make a decision.

If I learned one thing, this company ACS is a huge fake.  Give them no information regardless of who they say they are.  They will tell you that they are a personel investigator looking for you just to scare you off.

The following companies all use different names but they are all the same:  ACS, United Holdings, Nationwide, BOS, BCO, Century Group, SSM Group,  They are all linked together.

The company using this number this time calls themself ACS Group. They are a scam payday loan collection company. They use many, many different numbers as I have been getting calls from them from various numbers for months and months. They will tell you that a serious matter has been linked to your social security number. And then a "process server" will call to officially notify you that they have a warrant for your arrest. That is a scam tactic to get you to pay money. They will tell you that you took out a loan with "ABC Company - Payday Loan" for $350. Then they will tell you that with fees, interest, etc, your owe $1600 - do you want to set up payment arrangements. Unfortunately, once you are on their list, it's going to be very hard to get rid of them as I have not been able to. When they tell you they will serve you, tell them "I am here all day & will wait for you" and then hang up. When they tell you that you are getting arrested for a loan default, tell them, fine, I'll see you in court. You cannot EVER been arrested for defaulting on a loan; it will always be a civil manor. Plug their # into your caller id as ACS and never answer it. However, a few weeks later, it will start again. If you get a 800, 866# you don't recognize, don't answer it. If they don't leave a voice mail then check this site or 800notes.com and enter the # in to see if it is them. This has been the worse experience ever as I fell for it the first time for nearly $1400. If you owe them money, then get them to send you a statement with a remittance address. Oh, they will give you convincing line after line. The next time they will say they are Nationwide. Do not be stupid like I was and pay them money. If you truly owe a loan, even a pay day loan, and they want to sue you, they will have to come to your county/city court. If they give you a line that you will have to come to their state, that's wrong too. If you want to know if there are any pending lawsuits against you, then find out your state judicial website. All civil cases are public information. In Maryland its chttp://casesearch.courts.state.md.us. If you can't find it, call the courthouse and ask them for the web address. If you don't see your name, then you don't have anything. Be careful. Also, if for some reason you decide to pay it, then get a pre-paid VISA. You can use one from Walmart, I have one from ACE (Americas Cash Express). Do not give out your checking information. If they get to your human resource manager, tell them it's a scam company and tell them not to call anymore. And paste these 2 links to her/him.

So remember, please I ask you, NO ONE can get a garnish without a signed by Judge, court order. No where in the United States can they do that. You will get a summons with a court date on it and be allowed to present your case. Please don't cave in to the threats. Just don't answer and check here for the #.
