    RAB, Inc, aka Regional Adjustment calls your relatives to collect from you - That is illegal as far as I've been reading... How do we stop from happening to others???

    Debt collectors can call or contact relatives or neighbors to locate you, but they cannot call to harass or abuse anyone, or to embarass you, nor can they disclose to third parties that you owe a debt.  If they already know how to contact you, then any contact with relatives or neighbors would be for the above illegal purposes, and would violate the FDCPA.

    Call in and pay your account or make payments to pay it off.... then you can stop the calls to your neighbors and family.  YOU are the one causing it... not them.

      I guess you are unaware of the current economic situation where many people lost their jobs of 20-25 years because employers could no longer make profit because too many loans were given out to people who didn't have the ability to repay.  Those loans were given by financial institutions who are supposed to understand finance and economics, and were given huge bailouts that we're all paying for.  Those people who lost their jobs are not supposed to understand econonics and finance, and you choose to teach THEM your lessons on responsibility???  I think you're the stupid one!!

      You can also send them a registered letter found on many websites that deal with these problems.  Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you can tell them to stop calling you, your family, etc. and if you send it registered and prove they got the letter and they keep calling you start a call log and contact an attorney and sue them because it is indeed illegal once you tell them to stop.  It needs to be in writing and it needs to be traceable, but then you've got them!  Check your State laws, each state has a different set of rules, but in Texas once you haven't paid a single penny on an account in 4 years it is no longer legally collectible unless you pay them again.

      They will still call you. looking for your family member, even if told them not to call back. Even if your relative, tell them the same thing. If for some reason, they can't get in touch with your relative, they will call again.  The excuse, with me for two years, now,has been your sister must have used your phones.  They will take one number out, but if use a cell phone, they will keep it in the system. If you report them to anybody, nobody from their company will respond.iI even contacted  them myself, to complain.  I complain to nc about them, they sent three letter to their company, but  no respones.  They wouldn't even email me a correct address, rab has several floating out there in reality. It took bbb of memphis two attempts to get a reply, but then they lied about the  call.  I can and will do what it takes to make things right on my own.  I don't own the debt, but I was the one harass. My sister can take care of things on her end, I will take care of them on mine.  They still called a second time, even when i called upper management to ensured, they never called again last year.  My sister is paying them, but I still got called again this year.  Making payments doesn't mean they will stop harassment towards your relatives, when they choose to..... It took making a bbb complaint to the company this year, that my sister owed. that went to rab inc, to get in contact with them. i complained, that their company should police their third party debt collections, due to harassment to the acoount holders and relatives.  I was told, she still could deal with her debt with them, even though it got sent to rab inc. I had to get creative, in my thinking. i was assured, that boa, which was the the company my sister owed, would call and talk to them, about not calling me again. I hope it works. so who ever  "stupid"is , really has no ideas how far these debt companies will go.

        They violate the law, but depend on everyone tolerating their violations.
        You asked nicely, and they ignore nice people.
        You really don't have to put up with this.  

        Notify them,mailed certifed return receipt requested, to cease communicating with you (give your address and phone number and indicate they are alling and harassing you over someone else's debt), and if they continue to harass you over someone else's debt, get an attorney and sue them for violating FDCPA.

      The debit they called me about was not a real debt.   They called my family and friends and could show no proof of the debt.  My husband and I don't use credit cards and that is what it is was about "". They will take on any one as aclient without proof that a debit is really owed.

      Some people get calls because someone meaning their aunt used their social illegally. Then they call there family and them for something that wasn't there debt in the first place.

    I agree. Stupid must be one of them. Circumstances in peoples lives change, sometimes causing people to fall short on payments. If you have never been in that situation, then really you should save your comments.

    send a certified letter to their address stating that they may only correspond to you by mail. once that is received, any calls are illegal. can make a nice court case, but keep calls well documented.

    I am very proud that RAB have in our Bangladesh. I know that in every way RAB Can't give concentration. But I request to you that I lost two time in three month, the picpocket man were stell my mobile phone and important document. there have no action. The place name is PURANA PALTON BUS STAND.

    No it's not illegal for them, to call your relative if all they are doing is simply trying to get a message to you. Federal Law prevents them from disclosing the nature of the call but nosy relatives try to get it out of them.

    If you want to stop the calls I suggest you pay your bills.
