Case law and FTC opinion letters have long established that using false names to identify aa debt collector, such as a false name in a return address, is deceptive collection.
Court cases have also found that using spoofed caller id, such as 911 or the local sheriff's department, also violates federal and state laws.
Spoofed caller id also suggests a deliberate attempt to call for purposes of harassment, and attempting to interfere with consumers' exercise of their rights to dispute, request validation, and send cease communications letters, by hiding the true identity of the harassing callers.
You can sue them for it.
Log all calls, including caller id information, date and time, and deceptive statements made by the callers.
In particular, log their admissions that they spoof caller id, noting the date and time of the call, the "identity" of the caller, and sign and date as a contemporaneous log.
Since FDCPA allows courts to award damages AND your attorney fees, there are attorneys who take these cases on contingency. If they are doing this systematically, there may also be class action possibilities.

There is no "investigator" that any debt collector operating primarily by phone harassment is going to send anywhere. Some phone thug is just full of himself, spouting BS.
So for you RAB collectors with your brilliant advice about paying your debt and you won't get any more calls, how do I stop them when I never had a debt in the first place!??

That is cheap and irritating but legal.
Pay my bills? That's your answer? Let's see. I did not apply for a loan for excessive luxury. I was at the time trying to better my life. Unforseen events led me to not be able to complete that journey.
At the present, I am a single parent working 40-50 hours a week trying to provide for my son. Sorry, Charlie...My family comes before some stupid student loan that got me nowhere but further in debt. Welcome to reality. Unfortunately, I am in the majority here.
Just face it. You can't get blood from a turnip. As for your predictive dialer, you really should adjust the settings. Even with no message left, 4-5 calls every single day is abusive and morally wrong.
By the way, look up the word "moral" you might find that interesting!
