I hate when people get on these bashing rampages and make idiots of themselves because they made a mistake.
Pay the bill, move on. Get over it.
According to Section 804, they shall identify themselves and their employer on request, even when they are calling to find location information.
According to Section 805, they may not use the telephone for harassment through repeated calls. That applies to calling ANYONE, not just the alleged debtor ("consumer").
Other sections require that debt collectors disclose that they are attempting to collect a debt in all communications with alleged debtors.
The combination would prohibit the common practice of repeatedly calling asking for name (or demanding SSN), and hanging up if people refuse to give it, regardless of whether they believe they are calling the consumer, or other people.
"§ 804. Acquisition of location information
Any debt collector communicating with any person other than the consumer for the purpose of acquiring location information
about the consumer shall—
(1) identify himself, state that he is confirming or correcting
location information concerning the consumer, and, only if expressly requested, identify his employer;

§ 806. Harassment or abuse
A debt collector may not engage in any conduct the natural
consequence of which is to harass, oppress, or abuse any person in connection with the collection of a debt. Without limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following conduct is a violation of this section:
...
(5) Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number.
(6) Except as provided in section 804, the placement of telephone calls without meaningful disclosure of the caller’s identity.

Perhaps these "employees of RAB" were "smart enough" to use company computers...guarantee a win under the FDCPA. Or even better, dumb enough to use their personal computers. lol
