Today I received a text msg asking me if I would like a $200 Gas Voucher. It provided a toll free number to call for details: 877-764-7978. I have received 6 different text messages this year, with similar promises. I called the number, the person on the other end with a foreign accent, claimed to work for "Central Rewards" and proceeds to tell me for a one-time fee of $2.95 I would get a $200 gas voucher, good anywhere. Sarcastically, I said that it sounds too good to be true! I asked him how I pay the $2.95 fee to get my voucher... Of course, he was willing to accept any major credit card. Unfortunately, when I reply STOP to opt out of these things, it does no good. Each time, the text msg with an amazing offer comes from a different number. All of them lead back to "Central Rewards"

    ThankFUL!!!
As I was talking to this foreign guy on the phone for this $500 grocey voucher I held him on the phone because he was stupid enough to think I was walking to my purse. I came straight to my computer to google this company "Central Rewards" to find this information about the scam. I don't know why this dude thought that I was going to freely give him my visa number for verification for the $4.95. He stayed on the phone trying to convince me that this was not a scam and he just needed the number on my visa to verify that I am a visa cardholder so he could send me the voucher. Can we say desperate for a sale!!!

I didnt receive a call - I happened to dial the wrong number and got connected to them. I originally was calling a company provided number, so I kind of thought the whole idea might have been sanctioned by my company. Dumb blonde, I know.

Rep. gave me a conf. number, which was WRONG! when i called back to see whats going on, the conf number didnt work! =( UGH! i hate being caught in these traps..

I called my bank right away, and BLOCKED my card... I'm going to the bank first thing in the morning to get a temp card and report this issue. Beware!

I should have looked up Central Rewards or better yet hung up yesterday. I had dialed an Enterprise number and somehow was connected to a Mary Bell (Indian accent) at Central Rewards. When asked how I got her instead of Enterprise I was told their line was busy and it switched to her. She said this was a VISA promotion. Unfortunatly I gave them my information, why I don't know but did. I was quoted 4 different monthly charges to continue after the promotion period was over. This was for a $200 gas voucher.
As with everyone else, I could not cancel once I gave the information.

When I called the number I was given for cancelling, I was connected with the Utah Central Credit Union! I then went on line and found all of the complaints and cancelled my credit card.

Everyone beware! Even cautious people get caught by scams.
