Today I received a text msg asking me if I would like a $200 Gas Voucher. It provided a toll free number to call for details: 877-764-7978. I have received 6 different text messages this year, with similar promises. I called the number, the person on the other end with a foreign accent, claimed to work for "Central Rewards" and proceeds to tell me for a one-time fee of $2.95 I would get a $200 gas voucher, good anywhere. Sarcastically, I said that it sounds too good to be true! I asked him how I pay the $2.95 fee to get my voucher... Of course, he was willing to accept any major credit card. Unfortunately, when I reply STOP to opt out of these things, it does no good. Each time, the text msg with an amazing offer comes from a different number. All of them lead back to "Central Rewards"

I dialed the wrong number for GA Power and received this service...I asked to be cancelled before I got to the verification number but they continued to harass me to get me to verify.  I asked to cancel the $2.95 transaction and they did not.  They lied and told me that I was speaking with a GA Power representative...they have charged my card for $1 but I moved my money to so that the transaction does not go through...

The best thing to do is cancel your card and order another one if you have already gave them your card number. call your bank immediately and get a new card.

OMGosh! I'm a victim too! LMAO. That 200 gas card scam has taken over the better part of my morning. I just got off the phone with my bank after having had to cancel my card. The bank says that probing charges had already been processed to my account under a different name from "Central Rewards"  They sure move quickly! They have already called me back stating that I "had" to listen or will be charged the 39.99/mo. I just hung up and now I'm waiting for my card replacement 8$

I to was taken in by a guy with a accent he told me "since you have already paid for shipping, igoin to go ahead and send out the material".
Don't fall for this people they have withdrew funds from my bank acct and I found out that they had some more pending.  I tried callin and all i got was a computerize message on all the options telling me "thank you for patience"

Final thoughts if it sounds to good to be true, chances are it is!!!

Good luck out there, because i'm done!!! No more, if I havent't initiated it, then i'm not interested!!!!!

Also people be careful when you are on legitimate sites thats how I originally got entangled, you think you're answering questions and before you know it they have bumped you on to somewhere else, just pay close attention, and good luck trying to cancel, there's noway back to them, so go quickly as soon as you find out and change your information with the banks!

Thank you all for posting. I tried to call Legal Zoom from their website information and was told to press 1 to get $200 in gas vouchers and tolll free assistance. I waited for 3 cycles before being offered to press 2 to go directly to toll free assistance. I asked the operator if I had to buy anything else for the vouchers and he said "you don't need to buy anything else from us." I asked him the name of his company and googled Central Rewards to find these complaints. Thanks for posting. I didn't sign up and I still feel scammed.

I just called the number on the back of a Mervyn's gift card and who did I get?  Central Rewards telling me that they will give me $200.00 in gas vouchers for only $2.99 in processing fees.  What a deal they said.  I asked them to deduct it from the cash balance on the card they replied they can only take the ususal credit cards.  I googled Central Rewards and was saved by all your comments.  THANKS!!!! I am following up on a Cirtcuit City card . . . any bets that I get the same company??

Yep, me too.....All these stories sound very familiar.  they intercepted my call to the charge card co. and pulled the same mess on me....I got letters from 6 different companies that I had supposedly sign up with, everything from ID theft to magazines being put through on my charge card...Told me that I had 200 reward points on my charge card that they wanted to send to me....Didnt dawn on me at the time, why would they have to send them to me?
I don't understand why the charge card companies are AT & T  go after them, there using AT & T lines in a fraudulent way to achieve these scams...
OMG posing as SSC, AT& T, Power Companies, Card Companies, doesn't anyone care?

Two days ago I attempted to call the Social Security dept. and although I did dial the correct  number I discovered that these Central Reward fakers had somehow attached themselves to the soc. security line. I had not dialed a wrong number.I repeat, They  had actually attached them selves to the soc.security line, and were, they said, prepared to connect me with Soc.security rep.when I had terminated my business with them! There upon I was given the hard sell for free gasoline and other vouchers which I repeatedily insisted that I did not want. Nevertheless my credit card information was quickly weaseled out of me (these people are masters of their game) and althought I soon saw into the scam, the damage was already done. What an harrassment! Only with some difficulty was I able to disengage. By that time I was appropriately enraged, called and canceled my credit card immediantily. How here is the thing, look at the dates on these various complaints. These scamers have been active sense Nov. 2010., i.e for going on a year and from all appearances they are a thriving concern. How is this possible?

I got scammed too! I couldnt understand the person on the other end at all!! Why in the world I didnt just hang up and say NO! I kept saying YES!! I was asleep, not feeling well when they called. The only reason i answered is because they called like 4 times already that morning. I called and spoke to several different very rude people who basically told me that i ordered this crap and that i am stuck with it. its been 3 weeks since that phone call and i stil havent received a "welcome package" in the mail or gotten my "welcome email." when i called and told them this very rude girl told me i must have gotten it because they didnt get it back so i told her again that i didnt get it and she asked a very stupid question. "do you want us to send you another one?" well duh!! i paid for this $500 voucher thing i want it!! so for almost $100 i am getting some voucher thing that is probably crap and 4 magazines that i dont even want but i paid for them so i am going to read them!!

I just received a phone call and the CSR talked to my husband, they said I had "won" $500 in grocery coupons. I got on the phone talked to the rep. (Whom by the way was of foreign-Indian decent), and everything sounded excellent...too good to be true. After verifying my shipping address and spelling of my name, before putting me on w/ a supervisor, I was to pay a "one time fee" of $4.95, I told them that I was skeptical about such. She then gave me her name, Mel Cooper, employee ID # 0951, and the name of the company, CENTRAL REWARDS to prove the legitimacy of the company. I hurried and googled them before giving any information and saw ALL OF THE SCAMS!!!
Thank you all for posting....I ALMOST GOT CAUGHT!! GOOGLE 1ST!!!

Apparently, my husband has contacted them.  I have received a letter from them in the mail saying he owes $1757.80 which they will settle for $527.34.  I think I'm giving him the letter and letting him call.  Thanks for the info!!!
