Today I received a text msg asking me if I would like a $200 Gas Voucher. It provided a toll free number to call for details: 877-764-7978. I have received 6 different text messages this year, with similar promises. I called the number, the person on the other end with a foreign accent, claimed to work for "Central Rewards" and proceeds to tell me for a one-time fee of $2.95 I would get a $200 gas voucher, good anywhere. Sarcastically, I said that it sounds too good to be true! I asked him how I pay the $2.95 fee to get my voucher... Of course, he was willing to accept any major credit card. Unfortunately, when I reply STOP to opt out of these things, it does no good. Each time, the text msg with an amazing offer comes from a different number. All of them lead back to "Central Rewards"

I myself think that we just need to file a class action lawsuit against these people. They ripped my 75 year old grandmother off for $144.85 in the last month before we caught it.

My husband called in excited because he wanted his $200 in Gasoline. even tho it sounded weird we kept on with the process and as soon as i gave him the card number he ask me if it was a prepaid card..the foreign guy tells me that he could have that card if i had another bank card because it was going to take 2 to 3 business days to process and that the card need to have the rite amount in it.. i told him that the card had 5 dollars even tho it was a lie and he still didn't want it..so i told him to cancel that i didn't want it..

after that something was telling me to look them up on the internet and whole lot of complaints came up with there supposed company name..Then i called them with a different name and told them i had an American express they didn't even asked me for an address or anything else so i just told them to go Scam there motha and to stick there $200 on gas up there @$$...ooo GEees

The foreigner on the phone (if you can understand him) speaks very fast. He will talk right over you when you're speaking and is quite rude. I cancelled my card immediately but they had already put through the $2.95 while we were on the phone.  Don't get caught up in this -- they're very persuasive.

do not pay send it to the fbi and they will take care of it by pretending to be you and arrest these guys. this is a high risk scam. they move constantly their operations and one is in india. once they get your credit card info you are screwed.  i hung up the phone on them but was charged a 1.00 for greatmagvalu.  i did not get to the verification page because i did not authorize the transaction. i hung up but still was charge the man from india keeps calling pay 2.95 to get 200.00 gas card i hung up asap but will i get charge. there is another office in alabama the guy told me it was india but will cancel the transaction by making a request.  I told him its not good enough. Call central awards they lied to me saying there is no call center in india really consumer affairs told me differently. they pretend there not associated with them but they are according to alabama telemarketer. central awards number is 1-877-652-2168.  there in on it and your screwed. so send this to consumer affairs and the fbi. tell your bank about it so it does not count against your credit score.

i just got off the phone with "central reward" scammers!!!!!...I knew it was something strange when they did not accept my pre-paid debit card!!!!...They did not start off with the name of their company, just told me about my reward of free gas...I decided to google them while I was on the phone with them & read all of these post...When I told them "no", he got very hostile and asked me why I called the number if I was not interested!!!!..lol..He's mad at me because i did not fall for the SCAM!!!..TOO FUNNY!!!!!

E called the number given on a postcard.  Got an Indian, couldn't understand him.  But I heard the 2.95 and my alarm went off.  I hung up on him. If it sounds too good to be true, it's a scam,

    too late :(
I really got scammed. I received a text to a $500 gift card for walmart.I couldn't understand this foreign guy. I gave him my number to pay for the shipping fee. I was told that was all I needed to pay to receive the gift card and a packet of something (can't remember what). As soon as I hung up the phone I called 3 different numbers (one was not legit)he gave me if I wanted to cancel at anytime. 3 - each charging me 49.95 a month. I finally got them canceled or thought I did. I even called my bank and got a new number.  Then 6 months later I received a collection notice for 1298.000 balance I owe. Now I am stuck and not sure what to do.  But I can't pay this and don't want any product they have sent me.

    piss me off
that is exactly what I got. I couldn't understand him and every time I tried to say something he just talked right over me.  I was stupid enough that I gave him info just to get off the phone. Now i am stuck with a huge bill and not sure what I can do about it

Today I received a postcard asking me if I would like a $100 Gas Voucher. It provided a toll free number to call for details: 877-764-7978. I called the number, the person on the other end with a foreign accent, claimed to work for "Central Rewards" and proceeds to tell me for a one-time fee of $2.95 I would get a $200 gas voucher, good anywhere. My first clue that this was a scam was that she offered a $200 Gas card when the postcard said $100. Right then I knew these guys didn't have their 'stuff' together. Before she finished her pitch, I asked her 'Where do I mail the check for $2.95' To which she answered 'We will be happy to charge it on a VISA or Mastercard' When I said I had neither, she hung up.
