I am on the official "Do Not Call List" but that has ot stopped Credit Card Services from calling my number.  The latest call came today, March 26, 2011, and the robot gave me just one coice--punch in #9 to speak with a representative.  I didn't bother because in the past when I did punch in the required number and reached a representative, the representative immediately hung up on me when I tried to question him/her.  I guess they would rather pay a fine than cmply with the law.  Idiots!

I get these calls too. Being civil and asking to be taken off their call list is useless, so I keep a VERY LOUD whistle on my keychain which is always hooked to my pocket or belt loop. When I get one of these calls, I hit the specified button to speak with a representative and when a real person comes on the line, I blow the whistle as loud and as long as my breath allows hoping to bust the [***] ear drums. I'm getting fewer and fewer of these calls.

FTC is finally tried of this whole thing and is going after them.  $16,000 a call.  You must get their numbers and keep a log of their calls and report them to FTC.  Good Luck.  (or this is a scam too??)

I too am totally frustrated with these calls.  I get them daily.  I'm going to search online for an air horn.  Maybe that will stop them.

I too get these calls all the time, sometimes 2or3 in one day. I am on the " do not call list" also. How do we stop them?

I report Credit Card services EVERYTIME they call my number. Sometimes they call several times a day, sometimes once in a month. This has been going on for YEARS.

    Register your phone # at:
    https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

I do ask them to stop calling. Sometimes they hang up, I have had them swear at me. The government did go after them several years ago, but nothing to stop them in the past three years, so this is why they are still up and operating. And why not, people hand out their credit card numbers and they make $500 to $1500 off each person who hands out their credit card number.

Ditto, these calls are a pain. I have the same scenario. Now sometimes they give you the option to stop these calls by pressing "3" or whatever the current recording says. It doesn't stop the calls.

Another Caller ID spoof, courtesy "Cardholder Services".
"Hello, this is Rachel from cardholder services. There is nothing wrong with your credit card, but ....."
Dial the number back and you hear a stutter-dialtone, then a rapid busy signal.

I get these calls too. I don't even have a credit card anymore as went through a bankruptcy and has been discharged. Previous to this this cardholder services outfit would call me constantly probably put them on last call rejection too to no avail. Now they are calling with the Caller ID coming up with MY phone number and name. I reported it to Xfinity because it is annoying and has happened at least three times in the last three Months now is ridiculous. I too am on the so call do not call list.

    So Annoyed!!
These folks are the most annoying jerks.  After nearly a dozen requests to not be called (and reminding them I am on DNC) I still get frequent calls.  This week alone I have received 5.  Every caller ID is different, as is every number that shows on caller ID.  In checking the numbers, they are from Georgia, Montana and Nevada.  Three complaints have been filed with the FTC but I still get calls.  I urge anyone who has worked for Cardholder Services or Credit Card Services and left on unfriendly terms to give the FTC officials any and all information you have to put them out of business.  Hector at the FTC advised me that their sole purpose is to get your credit card numbers and personal information.  His recommendation: hang up immediately.  They just call back and interrupt your day.

I've been getting these calls for a couple of years. Try to talk to them and they hang up. Last month the number was 1 number off my own. Looked it up and it was a piano tuner in town. Today got one from LasVegas. Ends up to be a catering co. there. How can they keep hijacking phone numbers? Something has to be done.

Got one today, the representative told  me his name and his supervisor's name, which was the same as his. He said they were located in Temple, Fla. However, the phone number was a landline in Billings, Mt.
Spoofing your caller ID is a federal crime, and subjects them to big fines and/or imprisonment, or both. Get the number and name of the company, if possible. File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the AG in the state from which the call(s) originate.

Just got my second call of the day from Credit Card Services and it's not even 10 am yet. Pressed one to speak with a rep, took out my trusty old whistle and let the rep get an ear full. Next I filed a complaint as I am on the DNC list. Next step will be to file in small claims court.

I talk with them today. I pushed 9.  lady on the line, talked for a minute... I said uh-huh a couple of times. Than asked is today may 10? she said yes. than I said and its 249pm please take me off your list! She said "OH WOW" and hung up. I was amused. LOL... hahaha... I have also handed the phone to my toddler when they pick up. Also amusing. "Grandma? Garndma?" They hung up mommy. hahaha

Some weeks ago I got my umpteenth call. I gave some excuse why I couldn't take it just then, and asked for a number where I could call him back. The stupid fool gave me one, which I called. The answering robot said it was Visa something-or-other. (Wish I could find that number to pass it on). After listening to the "menu", I chose one which asked me for my credit card number. Uh-oh! Red Flag! I tried a reverse look-up, but no luck. I tried Googling Visa for a phone number..ha ha!

Does no good to be on do not call list, complain to or ask to be removed.  Instead, complain to your congressperson and senator.  If everyone directed their anger at their politicians, something might happen.
