I recently realized that I was being billed $12.95 from MNI Credit Reporting on a monthly basis.  I have NEVER used an online reporting tool for my credit score.  Even scarier, there seems to be hundreds of complaints regarding this company throughout the web.  After calling them and being put on hold for over 30 minutes, I decided to try again with similar results.  It appears that this company steal your information, and then you can't reach them to cancel the billing.  If the charge is recurring your credit card company can not get your money back - they deem it as user negligence.  Proceed with MNI and FreeCreditReport.com with caution - They are a slippery group of thieves!

I just wasted an hour speaking with 4 different company representatives after checking my credit card activities against receipts. No receipts for these. On the 6th of June 2013 and 6th of July 2013 there are monthly charges of $14.95. Statements read EXPERIAN*FREECREDSCR 877-300-2506 CA.  Finally EXPERIAN agent asked if I knew a TIM R. She would not tell me the last name. Only incorrect information is different telephone number. Have to cancel credit card and wait for new cards. Real pain as we are away from home.
The tollfree number is for Direct TV.
Supposedly EXPERIAN has now canceled the account and I should be receiving a refund for the charges and additional $25.  Don't hold any hope of ever seeing a refund.

I found a charge of $24.95 on my bank statement titled "RECUR DEBIT CRD PMT12/15 Experian *Credi 877-2977790 CA" a couple days ago, and found out about the scam here. I was shocked to find that they have been helping themselves with monthly charges for the past year and a half. How I didn't notice that is beyond me. However, I called my bank immediately to cancel the card, and they suggested calling Experian first before they take action to get my money back. I called Experian the next day (not the number from the statement, I used one from their website), didn't have to wait too long, and was helped immediately by the very first person I got on the phone. After I explained the situation, she put me on hold for about 5 minutes, and then told me that I should get a full refund within the next 7-10 business days. Three days later I had the exact amount I was missing back in my account.
