We have been receiving unwanted phone calls from Northland Group since 5/18/2007. They call from 1-866-380-8783 every day and ask for a person whose name I've never heard before.

It seems as someone used our address and phone number in their loan application, and Northland Group is trying to collect the debt.

For some reason people from Northland Group refuse to believe that the person they are looking for is not leaving with us, and continue their harassing calls.

I submitted my complaint to FTC, but I thought I should also let know here about this issue.

    You know why is this happening ? This is socialism. All of those nerds calling us from NorthLand [***] thing are foreign nationals !! I have never spoke to any one with decent American accent except foreigners. Something serious going on guys and this is a sign of socialism. Rude women talking on the phone from NorthLand and yelling at us is serious. [***] them. We need to protest such [***] and find who they are and try them. I am very shocked to know that someone from NorthLand is calling from out of the US. Why would they have headuarter in India or China ?!!

    These guys are not only trying to steal personal information from people but are also trying to initiate troubles and problems between a wife and her husband by telling her he might have a secret credit card. Gosh these people are sick. I would love to see them arrested on TV soon.

    Month three (at least!) and they are still calling 4 times a week. Just now they called...I answered and they hung up!  What's with that?  They must get paid by the call.  These people are unbelievable.  I have never gotten a message and they always call in the middle of the day.  Lots of wasted motion for no return...I don't get it!

    here it is 2011, and people like my self are still getting calls every day,i have a id , when this name comes up with the phone # or unavailable or out of area,i tell my family don't answer , just let it ring.if they not leave a message ,that means they what to talk to someone to haress.this has been going on for many months with other phone calls numbers like the one with a{ v } and very long phone #'s.they have been reported as well. why are they still doing this? where is the protection for people who get these companies that still harress us. senior citizens are so terrified,they are affraid to pick up the phone when it rings.what about the handicap .i wish the goverment will investigate these phone #'s.when we report them .just looking at the dates of complaints it is going on for to many years and they never give up.should we keep changing are phone #'s ?

    Got to love how the debt-collector-on-the-offensive that is responding on these threads is using "anonymous".

    every state has a statute of limitations on bill collection  usually 4 or 5 years after that you cannot be sued  so when collectors call tell them to f off.

    If they are trying to collect a debt that old, you need to consult an attorney who handles FDCPA violation cases b/c once the statute of limitations is up (I believe it's 10 yrs) they can no longer collect on the debt.  Save letters and record phone calls as your attorney will need it all as evidence when he/she sues the collection agency.

    I have received numerous calls from these people-they told me who they are looking for-some guy name James Lalce-I don't know this person, This is a recycled cell number they are calling on. I have even called them back 3 times (since Nov 2010) to tell them it's the wrong number. Now this morning I got some nasty a** b***h giving me all kinds of BS that they never called before!!! WTF!!! I'm ready to find a way to get them for harassing me-anyone know how? I called our local police and I'm waiting to hear back from them.

    They have been calling me looking some guy named James Falce, since I got the phone, who either had this recycled cell number before me or just made one up. I have sent them e-mails to stop calling-I have talked to them numerous times and they kept saying they removed the number from their list yada yada. Now I am filing a complaint with our state's Attorney General!! and I think they should also pay for my wasted cell phone time!! (would be nice but it will never happen!!)

    I'm tired of the [***]. My worthless, good for nothing son has rung up thousands of dollars in debt, as have his equally-worthless two ex-wives. These people are ALL in their 30's and have NEVER LIVED WITH US. But of course, this debt collector keeps calling us.  WE DON'T KNOW WHERE OUR SON OR ANY OF THESE WORTHLESS INDIVIDUALS EVEN LIVE.  Haven't heard from them, and don't want to.  Looks like I have to get an unlisted number.  Ridiculous.

    Northland Group obtained my work telephone number via caller ID, when I called from my office phone (even though they have my cell phone number), and they have called on my office phone harrassing me, even though I have told them in no uncertain times to remove the number from their call list. This company is notorious for leaving vague messages or no messages, just call after call. I once sent them a letter asking for proof of my debt and never got it. They are beyond fecal matter in the way they do business.

    Worthless Bill Collector - I have never had a late bill in my life and I am tired of being harassed because I have the same last name as someone else. Northland seems the worst. What a low life company...

    SORRY AS MUCH AS WE WANT TO TAKE MONEY FROM PARENTS...BY LAW WE HAVE TO HAVE PERMISSION FROM THE CUSTOMER TO SPEAK TO PARENTS....SO IF YOU GOT AN AGENCY THAT FOLLOWED THE LAW...WHATS SO BAD ABOUT THAT?
