I found this complaint on-line and my scenario was exactly the same.

I received a call with a recorded voice saying the call was from "Card Services" telling me that I needed to "act now to save money on my credit cards or the offer would expire."  Then I was given an option to press a number to be connected with a live operator and the option to press another number to stop receiving any more "notifications".  I pressed to speak to the "operator" to ask why they're calling me since I am on the Do Not Call list.  She hung up on me immediately.  I tried to call the number back, but the number I tried was disconnected.

I get this call all the time or used to!  They are very rude the last time I pretended I had huge debt and when they asked for the amount I said let me get all the account information for you put the phone down and had a glass of wine they eventually hung up and I have not gotten another phone call.  I was unable to turn them in to FTC because they always call from different phone numbers that do not accept phone calls.

Ms Spam endorser, you could get out of any suspicion if you actually fork out the names , phone numbers and addresses of the many " Rachel's" out there that you so conveniently helped to set up and run criminal rings....it could save you legal responsibility.

You could get some relief posting the phone numbers and addresses of your " partners" in crime.

    Dear Hans,

You are hardly one to talk about posting anonymously when the company you ran made unsolicited calls to clients using SPOOFED phone #'s - geez isn't that the same thing as posting anonymously.  Look we know this new batch of robo calls is coming from Stephen Hamilton's company PacificTel.  Which strangely is very similar to some of the below.  You got what you deserved.  The following is DIRECTLY FROM THE FILING AT THE FTC.

According to the FTC, SBN Peripherals, Inc., based near Los Angeles, allegedly made more than 370 million calls to consumers nationwide in the past year alone, prompting tens of thousands of complaints to the agency. One telephone service provider told the FTC that during a single day in April 2009 the defendants sent 2.4 million calls to consumers – more than 27 calls per second. The FTC charges the robocalls violated the agency‟s Do Not Call Registry Rule.

To make it difficult for consumers to identify the caller, the FTC alleges that SBN‟s robocalls often transmitted caller ID information vaguely identifying the caller as “SALES DEPT” and displaying telephone numbers registered to an offshore company it controlled called Asia Pacific Telecom. Asia Pacific, a foreign shell company for SBN, made many of the calls and lists its addresses in locations as disparate as the Northern Mariana Islands, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands, the FTC‟s complaint alleges.

According to the FTC, three of Asia Pacific‟s telemarketing numbers accounted for more than 25,000 consumer complaints to the agency in the past year. Two of those telephone numbers – 301-882-9986 and 757-990-8981 – generated more complaints to the FTC during the past year than any other robocall number. Many of the calls were made to cell phones, sticking consumers with additional charges.

In addition to the temporary restraining order and asset freeze announced today, the FTC is seeking a court order permanently barring the allegedly illegal conduct and will seek consumer redress as appropriate. The Commission vote approving the complaint was 5-0. It was filed under seal on May 25, 2010 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division. The court issued a temporary restraining order against the defendants on May 26, 2010. The FTC filed the complaint announced today against Asia Pacific Telecom, Inc., doing business as (d/b/a) Asia Pacific Networks; Repo B.V.; SBN Peripherals, Inc., d/b/a SBN Dials; Johan Hendrik Smit Duyzentkunst; and Janneke Bakker-Smit Duyzentkunst.

Thanks Guy. I just filed a complaint with the FTC cause I got the "umteenth" call from Card Services today. I'm also filing a complaint with my state's Attorney General's Office. This is rediculous. The call in unwarranted and when you try to talk to someone they are rude. Wish I could find the location of this call center.

We should all get together and take out a class action suit against Verizon, AT&T, and other phone companies for not putting blocking on our phones at our request. We don't pay these freaks to be harassed. We pay them for a legitimate service, and by doing nothing to stop this scam, they have placed themselves in the position of being a knowing accomplice to the acts of Interstate Fraud, and/or Conspiracy to defraud, and Identity Thief, all of which are very severe violations of the Federal Criminal Code.
