Complaint

I found this complaint on-line and my scenario was exactly the same.

I received a call with a recorded voice saying the call was from "Card Services" telling me that I needed to "act now to save money on my credit cards or the offer would expire."  Then I was given an option to press a number to be connected with a live operator and the option to press another number to stop receiving any more "notifications".  I pressed to speak to the "operator" to ask why they're calling me since I am on the Do Not Call list.  She hung up on me immediately.  I tried to call the number back, but the number I tried was disconnected.

I've gotten calls from Rachael for years.  I've tried hanging up, pressing 3 which is supposed to remove me from their call list, pressing 1 and laying the phone down or feigning interest.  I figure, they're bothering me so why not bother them.  Nothing works.  Their caller ID # once was supposedly the national do not call people, another scam.  I figure if we all press 1 just to bother them, maybe one day they'll give up.  If anyone comes up with a way to stop it, let us all know

If u are getting calls on your cell phone when u answer a strange area code put your phone on mute and lay it down for about 5 min. They pre block you # before they call u

    Hey Hans,

Who is Stephen Hamilton?  Another one of these "forums" says he's behind 800-847-2900 and has something to do with Pacific Tel.  From the addresses with the post, he's in the Venice/Santa Monica area of LA.

And like Le Rat keeps saying, give up some names.  There might still be a few energetic vigilantes out there, or bored ex-cons looking for someone to talk with . . .

Let's all keep after these bozos to shut them down.

File a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission:

    1. Go to: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
    2. Fill in the info requested.
    3. At the end select the box making your complaint a sworn statement, to give it some teeth if the FCC goes after them.

A computer geek friend of mine has a way of locking the phone numbers of those who call him so that the caller cannot call out on his phone again. He says it is illigal and doesn't recomment it for the un-learned computer guru.He is trying to get a way to send the block overseas and let it sit so he is not blammed for wrecking the phone system. But,a way to legally use this method is to get them to answer the phone, then just lay yours down and walk away.Sometimes the phone line will not disconnect untill both phones are hung up.They will try and hang theirs up,which puts you in control then. You may tie their line up for several minutes,if not longer.

A phone is YOUR personal property.  No one has any "right" to call you w/o your consent.  All residential and cell phones should be equiped like business phones where an extention number is required to speak.

You're a fool to even give them the card number, let alone the cid number from the back.

    Watch your balances very carefully.

Or, if you don't mind, just play them along for as long as you can stand it. As long as they are on the phone with you, they won't be getting your or anyone elses $$.

503-563-0081 with the caller calling herself Rachel. ID, Card Svcs. I just received it, 5:30 pm on 1/11/12. Since I was alerted to this "Rachel" on the local news, I just hung up.

All of these calls are from the Gypsy groups thru out the country. They are training situations for the young and they have to pay to be part of the system. It will cost them $8.00 - $15.00 when they answer the phone to talk to you.The best thing you can do is to call them out as Gypsys. They will not admit to it,most will call you names or just hang up.

My wife and I are bothered by these people almost daily on both of our cell phones. We have filed complaints with the do not call list, but we haven't heard anything regarding these complaints. They use many different phone numbers from many different area codes.

If everyone would seem to be interested in the services and ask for additional information to be mailed or if they could give a contact number, these people could be nailed.  You have to find out where they are calling from in order for something to be done.  Most times their numbers are bogus.

It seems to me that, for one reason or another, that there is something missing here.
IMHO, it is those people who say that they have worked for credit card company named in complaints here. OK. I have suggestion: It seems reasonable to me that if you work for scamming credit card company and quit working for it being disgruntled with them, why not disclose fully name, address and officials of scamming credit card company? Seems to make more sense to me.
If you are such tired of being not payed by company, lots of people would like you to rat on them and being employee of company, tell all that you know of them.
This would make those who were attempted to be scammed happy and would give federal people the information that they need to stop these parasitical criminals in their tracks, yes?

I get the same calls. CCS was calling 3-6 times a week sometimes 2 times a day. I started filing complaints with the National Do Not Call Registery. Since every call comes from a different area code, I didn't bother to try and block any single number thru Vonage. Hurray the calls are becoming less frequent and that makes me happy.
If the time should ever come and retribution beomes an option, I will be first in line to chop down their telephone poles! LOL

We get this call several times a day. I've chosen "1" and told them to stop calling because I am on the do not call list. They hang up on me. I've chosen "3" to supposedly stop getting the calls...doesn't work. I've done *69 to get their number to put on my complaint. Somehow they block their actual number so when you file a complaint with the FCC they can't do anything because you don't have an address or valid phone number. I did try the "whistle" one time...the guy actually called me back and cussed me out.

There are people griping about us griping.... that's kinda silly. It just adds another post of gripes... My complaint is that after two years of asking to be put on their "Do Not Call" list (which I now know doesn't exist), my dad fell trying to get to the phone. I've never been mean to them, but they've hung up on me every time I ask for contact info. I've talked to AT&T, the Mississippi Att. Generals office, and the public commissioner's office. We don't have credit cards and there are three disabled people in our home. It's not just a matter of annoyance. They call when I'm in class (I'm in school for Special Ed), my dad feels it has to be answered, so he tries to get it with his walker. Every day or two we get these calls. If I called your house daily for no reason after being asked not too, I would get in trouble... Why won't they help us? I've done my part by putting us on state and national lists, and politely asking to be put on their list.
