Won't stop calling

Complaint

I would consider this phone harrassement.  Rachel from Cardholders Services has been calling for years everyday 2 or 3 times a day.  Today I took the option to let them know I am on the do not call list.  I said to them " hi my name is Debbie and I am on the do not call" and he just hung up on me.  I do believe they must have heard of the complaint before.  Please help us.

Thank you.

Yeah peter the only problem with that is if i give them a so call fake number that turns out not to be fake and belongs to someone then that person will end up getting scammed for no reason but your own.I have had someone do that to me.It took me 6 years to get it straighten out. So i dont want to do that in case it is a real number!!You have to be smarter than that!!

I never thought about calling the news. Wonder if it would do any good. I told one of them i was going to have harassment charges against them and he said go ahead.

Every day, 2 or three times a day, and often when I'm in the middle of a nap--here comes a call from Rachel of Cardholder services, a robocall, as everyone knows. I complained to the local police about it, but the calls keep coming. I think we should get together and offer a reward for the person or team who finds a way to put these scammers out of business, and preferably behind bars with no access to a telephone!

These people are criminals, and trying to get them to stop by talking to them or by pressing whatever number the robocall says to push to be removed from the list, does not work. They hang up on you at the first sign your not falling for their scam, they spoof their numbers so they can be traced... the list goes on and on.

There was just a case in Atlanta in the last few weeks where one such operation got shut down and the people got lengthy prison sentences, because these operations are not just breaking FCC laws, they are real actual scams that promise to negotiate with your credit card companies to lower your rates, for a small sum ($500 - $1000), going as far as producing fake invoices, billing statements, and correspondence with your credit card companies... But in reality doing nothing.  That is if your lucky. The more dangerous operations use your credit card information for identity theft, or sell your card information and numbers to other criminals.

The most important info people need to realize, is this is NOT just one rogue company calling them... Its several, all using the same robo-call message, which anyone can download off the internet. Once the government or law enforcement shut down one of them, two more pop up in its place.

Still getting calls from these people! I thought they were shut down. They probably just sold the system to some other [***] and they set up shop right back again.

This gal Rachel keeps calling and a recorded message says she is from 'Cardholder's Services' - and starts out saying someting to the effect that my card accounts are OK and not in trouble  but they can help reduce my biils, card payments, or reoraganize my credit bills ... Well As of several months ago I cleared off my last remaining credit card and now do nmot a have a cred it card for charging  - only have a debit card which costs me nothing because it is paid daily from the account at my bank - so I actually have NO credit cards - but they keep calling - That shows they don't know that I have no need for "cardholder service" - I have been called twice already today - I just hang up - once I tried to respond to inform them I don;'t have any credit cards...and I couldn't get through or reach anyone. I give up - BUT This is terribly annoying and exasperating - I'm really mad about it.

I just started receiving calls after the FTC shut down the operation listed above.

The perpetrators must have found another group to do their calling.  I am beginning to hate answering my phone.

I have been called multiple times as well, on my home and mobile phone.  I have told them to remove me from their call list multiple times...they usually hang up on me. If you are not all ready on the Federal Do Not Call List you may register here: https://www.donotcall.gov/  (Federal Trade Commission)

Every time you receive a call, file a complaint with the FTC or on the DoNotCall.gov website.  Below is a link to the Federal Trade Commission website that has an article posted about this company and the difficulties trying to stop them.

    http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2010/06/asiapacific.shtm

That said, I have also decided to have a little fun and reverse the harassment.  It's a little childish, I know, but laughter on my part is better than anger with something beyond my control.  I have found that they usually hang up as soon as they know they will not get information from you. So after pressing '1', I started to bait the call and see if I can get more information about the company and then prank them.  Use your imagination and have some fun! I suggest you share your stories.  Until the FTC can actually do something, we can unite in humorous retaliation.  Every time they call is an opportunity to have some fun.

I highly respect you poor people getting calls from Rachel and being too stupid to actually read what it says on these forums and in teh pages it refers to.
I have spoken to many of you, and most understand what is going on after a few minutes.

Calling my wife  a [***] from a blocked caller id certainly takes courage!
Or encouraging others in tehse forums to do something to my kids, that certainly shows you have high morals!
Annonymous threats from blocked numbers show courage, I am sure you all feel proud after pulling that off!

maybe i was not clear in previous posts..........

We have been out of bizz  for 2 years compliments of your civil servants at the FTC, and we were not the ones calling you to begin with...

      so.....

Call Steve Wernikoff, he knows more about Rachel than we do.  312-960-5630
Or  Jim Davis  312-960-5611 or 5630

Hey, Hans Smit! You seem to like to talk smack to the American Consumer.
So, how do you like it now, scum-bag foreign loser!

This bottom-feeder’s goes by Johan Hendrix Smit Duyzentkunst. And, if you think enough of a name, Corporate defendant, and director of Defendant Repo, B.V. (Dutch foreign for profit shell company) Janneke Bakker-Smit Duyzentkunst (“Bakker-Smit”).
Geez, it’s no wonder an angry American Consumer cursed her! Two of the same kind of criminals.
These two geniuses operated Asia Pacific Telecom, Asia Pacific Networks, Repo B.V., SBN Peripherals, Inc SBN Dials, and who knows what other fraudulent bullcrap.
Here’s the 18 page FTC lawsuit.

Want to stop harrassing phone calls and phone fraud?

It is real easy and simple.

Outlaw caller ID blocking and make caller ID mandatory and offered free from the phone companies as a sign of good faith and customer support.

If they have our number, we have the right to have their number and identity.

Then we can either report them or call them back until they surrender.

Besides that, think of all of the other crimes that will be detered or solved because their number is on our call list.

Also once we get their number, it could be placed on a national block list along with a reason. Then our phone company should allow us to block the numbers we choose for free if they want our buisness.

Anyone know how to suggest this to the right people to see if they really care?

Obviously, the "Big lawsuit" against them in 2010 by the FTC didn't even slow them down.  These government agencies like FTC and Consumer Affairs are a joke!!!!

Glad I found you guys, though sorry we all have this "thing" in common.. They've been calling me daily as well, sometimes 3 or more times per day, sometimes from different numbers: I've kind of been keeping track of them since the day they called me every 10 minutes for close to an hour! I've filed complaints with the national do not call list twice in about 3 months, but so far with no results, so I guess the FCC is next stop.

Opps, meant FTC..  Gah, see how exasperated these calls make me? I'll complain to whatever F -insert letter here- C to make these calls stop!

Just received my daily call from Rachel. Even though we are on the Do Not Call list. Guess the FTC efforts have been unsuccessful.

These are clearly scammers.  I do not have caller id so I asked what their number was and my request was refused, as was my request to remove my number from their list. I can't imagine how it helps them to continually call people they can't scam. I wrote to the scam reporter at aarp.org with two numbers I had and asked for help.  The Supreme Court recently ruled that consumers can sue people who make these calls.  Some are calling for a class-action suit.

If you have caller ID or Smart phone services on your home phone, you may be able to block calls from whatever number they are using.  I have ATT.  To use the feature, one dials *60 and follows the directions.
