Will make this short and sweet, I hope.
Bought a timeshre in 2006, havent been able to use it as husband works away. We were shown a resort we were told we could use as we didnt like the one we were buying into. So.... we try and use it two years later, and find out that they want us to pay $410 a  night per person ontop of the $10,000USD we have paid to stay anywhere. They dispute they showed us this resort, they dispute they didnt tell us we had to pay more once they admitted we were shown the resort. And so the saga goes on. We have been told we can have 2 free weeks there, which will come to the equivalent of the price we paid originally. Why would we want to do that, it doesnt solve the problem of having to pay more if we want a holiday there. Now we wait as we want out of this whole sorry mess. It leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Husband is retiring this month and we thought we would be able to use our RCI membership without doubt as we bought into the higher levels of timeshare. Tried to find a place to go before February 2009, we have been told there is nothing on our side of the world. So we cant use the Royal Bali Club we cant use RCI. Well we can if we forever pay more, what was the point of paying into something we thought we would have for life and no more expense apart from air travel.
So people out there, beware Royal Bali Club and RCI. The directors and President must be laughing all the way to the bank.

And boy don't they play up this Entrepreneur Award when trying to justify the validity of their wonderful product.  We were "picked up" and went along to see what it was all about.  Listened to the 2 hour presentation and hard sell, inspected both the Royal Bali Beach Resort and the "flash" Karma Resort up the road.  Couldn't believe that they had refurbishments every 12 months and still had old CRT Tv's in the rooms.

When we finally got down to talking $$$, and I said I wanted to do my due diligence on the investment and would ring them within the week if I wanted to take up the offer, I was given an immediate 50% cut in the price to sign up on that day.  After refusing point blank, but saying I would investigate my options with the investment......we were given short shrift and sent on our way.

If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.......
If you have to pay on the day, don't do it.   That's my advice.

My husband and I have unfortunately expereinced the same scam.  We were sold a timeshare on a bi-annual basis.  They completed misrepresented the whole transaction.  We are desperately trying to sell but there are no takers.  I also feel guilty selling this to anyone because it's a raw deal.  Royal Resorts will not take any ownership of their wrong-doings.  I am so disgusted by this. What's worse is that their chairman John SPence won some entrepreneur of the year award in Australia???? HOW???? WHY???? for ripping people off???  Back when we bought our timeshare in 2006, there wasn't much on the net about customer complaints ... but it's crazy to see how many unsatisfied customers there are.

OH ... speaking of customers ...their level of customer service is outrageous.

Do you work for Royal Resorts??  I have yet to meet a happy customer.

That's not entirely true.  I've been asked to pay more money for an exchange outside of ROyal Resorts (i.e. with RCI).  SO in addition to royal resort member fees, and RCI member fees, I have to pay an exchange fee?  It's much cheaper to get an all-inclusive deal to anywhere else in the world.  THIS IS A SCAM ... NO TWO WAYS ABOUT IT.

Wish I knew half as much as I know now about Royal Resorts.  They were so insulting when we tried turning them down.  We were definitely pressured into the deal.  No one told us about the 3 weeks cooling off period.  NO ONE ...
