Will make this short and sweet, I hope.
Bought a timeshre in 2006, havent been able to use it as husband works away. We were shown a resort we were told we could use as we didnt like the one we were buying into. So.... we try and use it two years later, and find out that they want us to pay $410 a  night per person ontop of the $10,000USD we have paid to stay anywhere. They dispute they showed us this resort, they dispute they didnt tell us we had to pay more once they admitted we were shown the resort. And so the saga goes on. We have been told we can have 2 free weeks there, which will come to the equivalent of the price we paid originally. Why would we want to do that, it doesnt solve the problem of having to pay more if we want a holiday there. Now we wait as we want out of this whole sorry mess. It leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Husband is retiring this month and we thought we would be able to use our RCI membership without doubt as we bought into the higher levels of timeshare. Tried to find a place to go before February 2009, we have been told there is nothing on our side of the world. So we cant use the Royal Bali Club we cant use RCI. Well we can if we forever pay more, what was the point of paying into something we thought we would have for life and no more expense apart from air travel.
So people out there, beware Royal Bali Club and RCI. The directors and President must be laughing all the way to the bank.

    Hi Karen,

We have just arrived home from Bali and have fallen victim to the scam ourselves and feeling really stupid for letting it happen We weren't told that there is a 3 week cooling off period and after reading the contracts again thought there was no way out of it. At this stage we have only paid a part of the deposit.... have you found a way out of this, is there someone we can contact??? Please let me know we woud really appreciate it.

we like everyone else on here too got scammed in bali 2009 having won a weeks holiday in goa which we upped to two weeks using one of our weeks allowance, we had just been married and this was our honeymoon, we travelled around india and ended up in royal resorts benaluim for a two week stay we lasted 1 night at the royal and checked out the following day to stay at joe cons down the road the royal staff lied to us were rude and we had a gas leak in our scruffy room couldnt stand it any longer so checked out and paid 800.00 british pounds to stay at joe cons. it was our honeymoon afterall.  we went to look at hati mahal and royal palms and were equally disatisfied with the accomadation. when we returned to the uk we wrote a letter of complaint but to no avail we are now being chased for outstanding management charges which they have now added 10% to but we would not give this company another penny let them sing. can anyone tell us where we stand on this as we are not sure if they can pursue us
    please help with any advice

We paid a USD$950.00 deposit in Bali and have since checked out the resort and found we have been scammed.   We were told that there was no cooling off period and I'm writing to them to cancel after we went to check out the WA resort only 30 min from our home only to find out it does not exist.

    Hi all
I am the fallen victim to this scam, I paid $1500 being 10% deposit this royal resort.
Pls advice how to get out of the contract?
I believe we were brain stormed for 3 hours into believing a life time opportunity for a nice life time holiday accommodation.
At the moment I have cancelled my credit card so they can not direct debit to it.
Is there anyone has reported this to the government agency who handle scam?
    I appreciate any help
