Will make this short and sweet, I hope.
Bought a timeshre in 2006, havent been able to use it as husband works away. We were shown a resort we were told we could use as we didnt like the one we were buying into. So.... we try and use it two years later, and find out that they want us to pay $410 a  night per person ontop of the $10,000USD we have paid to stay anywhere. They dispute they showed us this resort, they dispute they didnt tell us we had to pay more once they admitted we were shown the resort. And so the saga goes on. We have been told we can have 2 free weeks there, which will come to the equivalent of the price we paid originally. Why would we want to do that, it doesnt solve the problem of having to pay more if we want a holiday there. Now we wait as we want out of this whole sorry mess. It leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Husband is retiring this month and we thought we would be able to use our RCI membership without doubt as we bought into the higher levels of timeshare. Tried to find a place to go before February 2009, we have been told there is nothing on our side of the world. So we cant use the Royal Bali Club we cant use RCI. Well we can if we forever pay more, what was the point of paying into something we thought we would have for life and no more expense apart from air travel.
So people out there, beware Royal Bali Club and RCI. The directors and President must be laughing all the way to the bank.

      Guys please stand up, report the pests to Australian securities also report them to E&Y. I am doing all that. They kept us there for over 11 hours hungry and thirsty and threatened us (one guy claimed he is part of Mafia, his name was Richard Miano).           We got our money back thru our credit card company - did have to wait 60 days to see if the royal resorts made contact, but they didn't - I cancelled my card, so no future money could come out.

        I've bought this membership on Oct 2012 and pay monthly installment untill now (2014). We never use this for holiday. Then I realized that they ask too much for yearly property and management fee that make our calculation about this membership's cost are beyond. We want to end this payment agreement. Do you have any suggestion how to end up all this mess I've made and is there any chance that we can have our money back?  please help us.

    when I read this story reminds me about a scam in jakarta bali club. Initially I only wonder how the club bali corporate scam ever, and when I search "bali club scam" to get this page. I want to share stories about these bali club scam, after paying some money to a member of RCI, I got the bonus of staying at the beach Anyar, until the holidays were over.

    problems began to arise, I several times I wanted to take a vacation, they always said the place was packed, even though I already pay nearly $ 1,000 to the club bali jakarta.

    later, this story grew with the arrival of bills months, whereas I never enjoy a vacation like they promised. And with a heavy heart, I come out with money that had taken them.

    The thing is with holiday ownership, is that you have to research the affiliated companies to actually comprehend the way of using it, like rci for instance, the way to get into ANY RESORT YOU WANT, like the HILTONS, THE MARRIOTS, SHERATONS, is to use your free week that your given, and exchange that straight away, lets say that you want to go to disneyland and want to stay at the disland animal kingdom and go for 2 weeks, what you do is that you have your free week that year already under your belt, and then you pull your future year towards you so that you can have 2 free weeks, then you exchange those free weeks you own, that will allow you to get into any gold crown resort in the world with what RCI have, that means you can get into the 5 star resorts...
    Now, i understand that you feel ripped off, but call the customer service that is there available for you and dont be scared to ask questions, thats their job, its to answer your questions and help you with your ownership.
