caller fails to identify the company before asking for credit card information on an extended warranty.  I went through five levels of "approval" before reaching the closer -- but he failed.  When asked to be removed from the call list, the caller (representing Consumer Direct Warranty Services) refused to acknowledge my removal request and proceed to verbally abused me -- finally, he hung up on me.  Fortunately, I have an email from the rude individual, and have access to their network.  I've filed a complaint on the company via the do-not-call list.

Please go to the donotcall.gov site and click on File a Complaint link.
If you have the fake phone number(s) that have been used, take the time to post a complaint for each call they made, using the same company details.  In your comments, again list the other numbers they've called you from even if you posted a separate complaint for those numbers.  The more complaints on this company, the more likely it will raise to a level where the FTC takes notice.

Please be sure to provide the alleged company info:

Consumers can fight back at blanket calling.  Please read on...it's very simple.  The calling company will go out of business if these procedures are followed.  Stay on the phone as long as you can with the calling company.  Be as sincere and courteous as you can with out giving out any personal information.  Ask a lot of questions…keep the caller busy.

The reason why this works is that blanket calling depends on 1% to 3% call backs.  Time is money and the caller depends on commissions.  Do the math.  If only 40 consumers out of a 100 returned the calls, stayed on the phone for 15 minutes, this would equal 10 solid hours of no sale.

Two spice it up, after you have done your 15 minutes of duty, kindly ask the caller if his mother knows what he is doing.  After this humiliation, hopefully the boiler-man will seek other employment, or perhaps turn in the company he is working for.  For sure, the host company will go out of business.

As a consumer advocate, please do your duty; you will be helping yourself and others.

    Sincerely,

    C.A. MKW

My mom just got suckered into this CDWS we have been fighting about it all day. I told her it was a bad idea too much money ect. i asked did you do any research before hand think about the purchase look into the company calling. No of course not. These people should go to jail this had to be against the law waht they are doing.

I woke my mom up to tell her that this company was indeed a scam and she is going to cancel tomm. But it sounds like it is going to be hard to get out of the policy. Thank you for all of your blogs on the subject

I am wondering I have talked to other people that had some of the minor claims from this warranty not excepted and others that do have this warranty had a complete engine or transmission put in..  We have the warranty and they have paid the claims. The problem we found is finding a place to take the vehicle that will take the warranty. IF you have the shop call the number on the card you will find out if your job is covered. I DO NOT WORK for the company and bought the warranty over a year ago, I TO felt it was a scam and i got taken to the cleaners, THEN when it was time to use the warranty it did pay for the major jobs.. but im sure many people got taken to the bank the way it sounds. SAD

wish i had found this a year ago. this so called service promised everything was covered including electrical. i have had my picup in the shop twice and recieved denials. my pick up has been in the shop for 2 weeks now and they have faxed the dodge dealer forms three different times and asked for estamates for repair. told the dealer and myself over the phone that the u joints that are bad heve to be "broken". a broken u joint on the front of a 4x4 is catastrophic and very likely to cause a crash in which case they can claim it is due to the accident. to top it all off after 2 weeks they claim that my policy doesnt cover u joints or electrical and i am guessing anything else that needs repaired. my dodge dealer no longer accepts this policy as they could have had the truck fixed in a day and waisted so much of my time and the dealers repair shop. what a night mare i am trying to get a copy of the sales recording to go to the better business people.

I have been getting these calls for months now finally talked to them
Oh it sounds so wonderful full power train coverage including all seal's and gaskets. I am @ 108,000 and I would be covered to 208,000 including towing and rental. Wow is this a dream only 350.000 and 12 payments of some odd thing.  "When I was in sales the one thing I hated the most was the customer who had to think about it." (be sure to waiste as much  and as many sales peoples time as you can yes include all there freinds at the office lmao..)
Then go and think about it. I asked for materials to be sent to me (I think someone scared them about sending people email) they directed me to a website. consumerdirectwarrenty.com I went to google instead and found this forum Yayyy  I am so glad I wanted to think about it.  for those of you who still havent bitten the apple press 1 to talk to a rep ignor his babble he has a sales pitch and will continue it so long as ya say yes now and again then ask for his boss or bla bla make up a position his company should have they are pretending to be managers anyway. let them  talk and talk  and then hang up to think about it. you may pat yourself on the back for saveing 2 or more people the displeasure of meeting those people.

My dad purchased a warranty from these scammers 9 months ago.  They wouldn't send policy without his credit car number but he bit anyway.  We were finally able to get most of his money back from CC.  We have since cancelled his cards. They continue to call trying to get money - say we're 3 months behind but never give dollar amount.  Says we can't cancel over the phone but must put it in writing.  That happens to be the first thing my dad tried.  They then tell us we forgot to include the $70 "cancellation fee".  (will these guys not stop at anything?!)  They are now threatening to send it to collections because we didn't have confirmation number for cancellation.  How could we if we mailed it in plus they deny we can even cancel at this point because "the policy is already in effect".  STAY AWAY!!!! I CANT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH!!  STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!

    Warranty Purchaser
I purchased a CDWS warranty about 3 months ago and needed to call them for clarification on my agreement.  The person I spoke with was professional, and able to help me with all of my questions.  Fore EVERYONE complaining: YOU are the one responsible for making sure you are buying the right program (...ever heard of reading the fine print). Let's face it, there are a million companies out there that are worthless, but that's not the case with CDWS. I've done my research on them - the are a legit. company, that does business with call centers who sell their warranties. CDWS has no control over how the call center sells - if they did find out the call center was scamming people I'm sure they would cancel the call center. Why would they risk going out of business for some shaddy company? Common sense people!!!!

    Just Me
I feel bad that so many people are so confused about who CDWS is.  I bought a warranty last year, but I didn't buy it from CDWS.  When I got my package in the mail, it did have the name of CONSUMER DIRECT WARRANTY SERVICES(CDWS)but it also had a piece of paper in the booklet that name the company that sold it to me.  This confused me, so I called CDWS and the girl I spoke to explained that they do NOT sell the warranty, they administer it...she also said they don't make any sales calls but they were the ones that sent me my packet  she said all sales are reported to them - cdws and then they send out the packets  I think many people are confused in previous comments posted.  I hope this helps someone.

Here is one way to fight back. Call their 800 number from a land line (not your cell unless you have unlimited minutes!). Turn on your television, preferably to a sleazy shopping network, set your phone on speaker phone in front of the TV and leave it for as long as their computer will allow you to record a message. Repeat as necessary. I have cost them several hours of long distance charges and will continue until I feel better. FYI, for Automotive Warrantee Solutions of Boca Raton FL, the number is 800-376-5644.
I have also treated them to several hours of Sunday morning religious programming.

Appreciate these comments. Just had a call tonight phone number 866-973-5515 x 304 guy called Jonas. Could be originating anywhere. Offered to cover- "everything on my car for seven years" for total payments of $2000. required immediate payment of $200. Told him I wanted to check it out first. He gave me cdwsnow.com site.Unfortunately I told him the make of car I have and my first name.
Question? How do they find out the phone numbers of people whose car warranty is coming due??? Scary.

I thought I bought a warranty under the company endurance warranty. I did not know any different util they finaly mailed me a card for clains and it said cdws!!  A typical bait and switch. Fortunately; I only made 5 payments of $139.00 before I got the card and then googled complaints on this company. I know i am not getting my money back even if i sue but I had my bank cancel my card so they could not charge me anymore like some people complained about while going through several months of delays to cacell!!
