I can tell you what the problem is right now.  It is a communication problem.  They probably told you in english what was going to happen and you being puertorican did not understand the words.  That is where the breakdown most likely happened.
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is!  I could hardly understand what you wrote.  You misspelled words, used improper grammer etc.  They did not take advantage of you or trick you.  I am sure the phone conversation was recorded so ask to hear a copy of that in writing.  Then call Mastercard and tell them not to let anymore transactions from Lumiday go through.  I do not work for nor have I ever heard of this company.  I was just doing research on it and am sorry for your incident.

Who's the uptight hard-ass who responded to the individual who is obviously from another contrary than the USA and merely wanted to warn others tempted to ask for the free trial only to be screwed over as well? On the contrary, this company is fraudulent in it's business practices. No where in their sign up agreement does it state they will be charging $74 plus per month. Also their confirmation email states: "should you want to order more product visit online or call"-which in and of itself would seem to further mislead the "mark" (I.E. consumer)into thinking they are not entering a binding contract. It is only after you scroll to the very bottom of the web site and read "terms and conditions" that you find the over-priced agreement.
"Buyer beware" of any fricking "FREE OFFER" from any company you either have never heard of or do not trust completely! Most of these free offers are scams for sure and give this consumer reason to not even trust the media company who is advertising the offers of these rip off artists- in this case I saw this offer on the KOMO TV site which is a media company headquartered in Seattle WA. Also AOL is another company helping perpetrate these type of offers-such as Bright White and or Smile Radiance-which are one and the same company offering teeth whitening products and also have 40 other scam products they offer under different names and web sites.

Everyone knows that a "trial" means a short time to review before making a decision. Anyone who has ordered anything like this knows that it almost ALWAYS means you are signing up to receive orders each month unless you cancel. Book clubs, CD clubs, Recipe clubs, Medicine clubs, etc. It's no big secret. I don't always shop inside my country either but I make sure what I'm reading before giving my card info away. Yes, I've been burned by these kinds of things too and I accepted that I wasn't very careful in reading the fine print. I don't think anyone is jumping on anyone. Sounds like a reasonable explanation though that the person above might have missed the details written in English.

Its always the same, free offer just pay for shipping and handling and then they hit your card for full amount and they will keep doing it till your bank account is bust.If you insist on falling for these scam artist, just get a prepaid green dot visa card, put $20.00 in it--stand back and listen to them scream when they try to tap you out,it works,I had to remind them it was free and there was enough to cover shipping and handling. They of coarse refused and never sent product, this should tell you idiots out there that this is a scam to get into your account--dont believe me? try it yourself!

I've taken advantage of many of these offers and it clearly says "cancel within a certaing amount of time and you won't be billed". I'm sure that's where most of the problems with billing comes in. People forget to cancel and get mad because they did. Trust me, i've been there! Thankfully my money was credited to my account. However, my point is, make sure you cancel on time and there shouldn't be any problems.

Or you are just a shill.

Many times these "free trail" offers are set up just to get consumer account information, and they just ignore cancellations, or you can't even reach them by phone, so they continue to "accidentally" take your money.

the 2 answers to nancy's dilemma are both correct.  legally the company can operate in america in the way that they do.  also they are considered criminal by most american's.  they are wrong and should be punished.  they steal money from the young and innocent, the old and innocent and those who have to to our great country not imagining that such criminal business tactics are tolerated.  KOMO TV in Seattle and AOL should be ashamed for assisting in such scams which are in fact simple theft.

    been there
I got lured into a "free scheme" and quickly realized it was a mistake.  I cancelled within hours of my order and it still took 3 months to get charges/refund on my credit card.  Thanks goodness for the  cooperation of Mastercard.  STAY AWAY from free offers.

I am very interested in trying this product but before I do I did some research and best bet is to run it through your doctor first, I almost signed up for the free offer until I came across the shipping part, its tempting but I have seen this happen one too many times they bill you for the shipping then they continue to send you more and bill you for it and its not cheap at all! $70!

Find a GNC store and buy it there. The free trial is a scam

I requested the "Sample" took it for 14 days and it had no effect, Then later, I receive a bottle and my credit card is billed. I called lumiday and they told me it is part of the agreement. Well, I went back into the web site, These tricksters did slip some doublespeak in there, that says once I order, I have 18 days to cancel, or be billed for future shipments.
Silly me for thinking a request for a free trial was an order.
    Be wary of these tricksters.
American Woman, you need Lumiday or some other type of medication to calm down and stop picking on non inglish peeple.

Thank you one and all for posting, this saved me from making the same mistake
as I've learned the hard way to always Google the company name+complaints.
This is true of everything I buy on the Internet: Caveat Emptor (Latin for Buyer Beware) sadly must be the order of the day from all of us.This is true of all offers.
I've effectively handled this situation in the past by: the minute product is delivered, I cancel and figure if I love the product then can always order at a future time thus eliminate the scam. Don't wait the amount of days, cancel immediately upon arrival and protect yourself.
Thank you Puerto Rico for taking the time to warn us, despite a couple mis spells your message is perfectly clear! My apologies for those who feel it necessary to criticize the spirit of your message is to be commended.
God Bless and take good care. LO/Sherwood,OR

I have been unsuccessful in canceling an old AOL account. I have spent hours on the phone with press this number, then press that number, etc etc; all to no avail. I pay my credit card bill in full monthly, each and every month; less the AOL fee. Subsequently, I am on the phone with the credit card company to not ding me for being tardy. They finally said that they will cxl the AOL account and put a block for the maximum period of time allowable to stop the endless billing. That time has now passed and I am still in this endless loop. How much is my time worth? It is cheaper to pay the bill then endless effort. If they are doing this to me, I wonder how many other people are in the same situation. Is this their business model? It is a scam.

Hey moron.. it says right in the agreement that if you do not cancel within 18 days they will bill you $69.95 plus the $4.99 shipping each month until cancelled. If you don't read the agreement you have no one to blame but yourself.

Well, sure it can be purchased at GNC for 69.95, THEN, (on the off chance it doesn't work)which it won't you are stuck with a whole bottle of nothing. I understand the free trials and have done it, some successful some not. Talk about anxiety! Probably wouldn't have any if we didn't try FREE TRIALS!

People are far to angry on some of the posts for no reason. I just don't understand why you would bother to call someone a c**t simply for posting an opinion. What is the world coming to. Maybe you should try perscription mood enhancers instead because clearly, there are some deep seeded issues. Good luck on becoming a stable part of your environment.
