I have repeatedly received phone calls from an Indian Call Center caliming to be representatives of a Law Firm, ACS. I have done some research into this "firm" and have found it to be completely fraudulent. DO NOT give any information to these people and forward any information you have to the FBI...

ACS Legal group is a fraudulent company.  If you really owed a debt to any company, they must provided proof if you request it within thirty days.  I asked for this proof.  I was told that they had sent this information through email.  Not true.  They said that they could not give me a copy of a cancelled check as proof of payment because it was supposedly deposited into my checking account.  I asked for proof of that, of course they could not do that either.  Suddenly their accents got really thick and they began talking really fast.  I had my attorney contact them on three-way.  They asked us to stop calling them.  I think we should all call them as much as possible and give them what they have been dishing out.  Also, contact the FBI with all of the information you can find.  And please tell everyone that you know about this company.

They called yesterday from a private # & spoke with my daughter (17 ) telling her I am in trouble for credit card fraud & I had 3 hours to call them back before they filled papers & I would have to deal with the courts.  Telling her if I don't call they will come to my house to serve me. Suspicious because I don't have a credit card, but I called the number they left ( 888-726-7812 ) only to satify my Fiance & daughter's nerves, and when I did course I could only leave a voice mail. No actual person answered. I had a feeling about this ACS place I my research lead me here... What can I do to get them to stop calling.. report them.. sue them?  I've been scammed before & left penniless..This is just infuriating & I'm not taking it anymore but not sure what to do to fight back. Open for suggestions.

I just received a call from Jack Taylor, ACS Law Firm.  He indicated that a lawsuit is being filed against me in the court house.  He has an affadavit with serious charges being brought against my social security number.  He left the #347.491.5137 so that I could call him back.  The numbers displayed on my phone were 0000000000.  He had an Indian accent.  I will not call him back.  I am so glad that I found this website.  The call was very unsettling, but I will rest easier knowing that I've been alerted to what this is all about - a scam.  This is a crazy world in which we live.

SOL's vary from state to state, you need to check your state laws to find out what laws specifically apply to payday loans. The only thing I could find on ACS is this:

    ACS Group Limited
    PO BOX 30-148
    Lower Hutt, New Zealand

    The link is: http://www.zipleaf.c...p-Limited_42267

Although I wasn't able to find a website or direct phone number, they appear to be some sort of out of the country (not in the USA) investigator/process server group in New Zeeland. Don't know for sure if they're a legitimate business or not. Couldn't find much of anything on the phone number you listed. Check to see if they are registered or licensed to do business in you state.

I was contacted yesterday from a "Curtis Jackson" law firm saying I had charges against my name, & that I needed to pay $1,450! They had my social security number, my checking & savings accounts, EVERYTHING. They called over 100 times to my work place, & cursed out me & my coworkers! Then, they freakin' hacked to phone system!!! They kept saying they'd "take everything" I have &  "ruin my life"! Finally, my fiances mom told me it was against FTC regulations for them to do what they did, I contacted my boss, & everything stopped. I'm wondering though; where do I go from here? I still want to report them. Do I go to my local sheriff's department, & work from there up? Also, they have all my information :( SS #, everything. Should I see about requesting a new one? I've had to close my 2 email accounts, my Facebook, cancel my phone, & my mom's phone, & today I'll be closing my bank account. Who do I go to from here?

Here is a number on ACS Legal 1-786.406.6099. They sent me an email to my student email. Funny thing, when I reached them, I told them I contacted the District Attorney in my state and the D.A. want some info. They hung up on me. I called back several times. They don't want to talk to me. When you turn it on them, they don't want to play.

Just received a call this morning on my cell and at work, from A Nicole Tompson from Brown County. The number was blocked, and she said I was beeing summoned for  attempting to defraud a financial institution. She left a number for me to call within 2 hours or I would be served by local law enforcement at my home or job. I was told to call 855-565-2302 within the two hours. I started researching on the internet and found this page. Thank you for sharing all this information, as it really helped. I have contaqcted the FBI, as well as the local police dept. This was all a big scam, and I almost fell for it. I called the nmber back and let them know the number as well as info in the voicemail that was left has been reported to the FBI.

I kept getting calls for someone who used to have my cell number.  When I called the number back- from my work phone, I got a pleasant (american sounding girl) I explained the person they were looking for no longer had my phone number and she said she would make sure it was removed. We shall see. I don't have very high hopes, but at least she was pleasant to me.

Same scam still going around; I applied for a payday loan that i never recieved, all the sudden my email and phone are going off like crazy and I get msgs about having an arrest warrant issued if I didn't call back.  I called 916-287-3581, could not understand hardly anything other than a lawsuit associated with my ssn, which was funny becuase I only gave my first name and was not asked to verify my ssn.  When I confronted the guy on the phone and told him I didn't believe his story and wanted documentation or at least a case number and client name, he screamed that he was going to have me arrested and hung up.  I tried calling back but there was no answer.

This place called my personal cell phone and then proceeded to call my job, I asked them not to call my employer and hung up. They called my employer 8 times even after asking them not to call me. I called the number back and they said they had nothing in  their office for "me" but if it is for me then if they call oh well. This is all a bunch of BS. They can not be legitimate. If they were they would send the info I requested to my home so I could dispute it. The phone number I was given was 855-875-8605, Beverly Rich. She was as "ghetto" as anyone I have ever come across. I advised them I am contacting the police and state attorney general as this is a violation of the Fair Credit Act!

Took a payday loan to keep electric on as in foreclosure but getting out! A Jack Cruz continues to call? I want under and bank closed out my account as an auto payment got through before closed out. They do not handle like payday loans, polite, and when I pay the 358.00, I may open keeping 100 at all times in my account.

Friends in FBI, retired but can reach, and lawyers, nephew is a [***] to bank's being a "forensic auditor. This payday loan took and so long age payments, went under and year's later this began. 200 is up to 2K, 1K if paid right away, 4K now, then in a day up to 7K.

Contacting some people they do not want to hear "their side of this ripoff when 200, must have added interest for when took out I think close to 8 year's ago?
