looking to buy a Magtag washer DONT DO IT.  We purchased our on 1/26/09 and we are currently waiting for the 4th drum/bearing assembly to be replaced.  It is on back order until 5/13/2011.  We have been waiting since 4/1/2011.  We called Maytag and basically got the too bad for you.  I was informed that since we purchased the extended warranty that it is not their problem anymore.  It is the problem of the service company.   I asked several times why they did not back their name, and the CS rep. made it perfectly clear it was not their issue.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Customer Service and even worse product!!!

Bought in November of 2010.  Interface control board and Motor control board needed to repair.  Cost is 30 shy of what we paid for it.  Stay away from washers with circut boards until they perfect them.  Contacted Whirlpool and the "do no have any money set aside for people in our position Sorry"

Bought a Maytag 3000 after Whirlpool duet crapped out after 4.75 years.  That was in March 2009.  Last Friday I got the dreaded F28 code.  Repairman was out today.  Computer board went out of it.  TWO YEARS OLD. I know it's going to cost almost as much as it did when it was new.  It's now out in the garage waiting for the junkman.  Found an old, used top load with NO electronics for $65.  If it goes out in two years, at least I'M not out 100's.  The technician on the other end of the phone to the repairman couldn't tell him the problem, just to start replacing boards.  No, thank you.  Will NEVER buy Whirlpool or Maytag products again.

Hello Melanie, my daugher is experiencing similar issues with her Maytag, Maytag Series 3000, W10157503A, which is less than 4 years (only being used by two people), repairman expects her to pay almost what it's worth to fix it (the last I heard was $400), plus $129 just to enter my house.  The repairman needs to do a recall (due to the common problems with the interface control panel and the drum).  My thoughts are that Maytag is supposed to manufacture top-of-line products.  Can you help us.  My email address donnam.h@telus.net.  Thank you.

check the filter in the front on the bottom that was my problem and some of the wires in the washer rub on the vibration of the washer
