looking to buy a Magtag washer DONT DO IT. We purchased our on 1/26/09 and we are currently waiting for the 4th drum/bearing assembly to be replaced. It is on back order until 5/13/2011. We have been waiting since 4/1/2011. We called Maytag and basically got the too bad for you. I was informed that since we purchased the extended warranty that it is not their problem anymore. It is the problem of the service company. I asked several times why they did not back their name, and the CS rep. made it perfectly clear it was not their issue.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Customer Service and even worse product!!!

Can you do us a favor and post the link for the parts you bought? I'd like to attempt the repair instead of waiting on the MAYTAG Repair man. The link to the how-to video would be great too. Thanks.
I replaced a Kenmore that fell apart after a few years.
The Maytag has just had its first failure, a broken hinge on the door.
The original part price is $109 (the washer was about $600).
An look alike alternative part price is $87.
We use the washer for five people and do at least 10 loads per week.
We were not gentle to the door nor were we abusive, just typical use.
It broke after thousands of closures--the hinge that is. If I had oiled it
it probably would have been okay. It started binding then a small piece of metal broke off.
It still closes and we can use the machine, in fact it is doing the second load of the day.
I am just ticked that the hinge cost so much, about 1/6 of the original price.
The old tub ringer washers used a whole tub of water and agitated the clothes in it.
The high efficiency washers use a little water, swish the clothes in it then fling the water out
with a high spin, then repeat. It does a better job with less water because the clothes are
not sitting in a big tub of dirty water.
