looking to buy a Magtag washer DONT DO IT.  We purchased our on 1/26/09 and we are currently waiting for the 4th drum/bearing assembly to be replaced.  It is on back order until 5/13/2011.  We have been waiting since 4/1/2011.  We called Maytag and basically got the too bad for you.  I was informed that since we purchased the extended warranty that it is not their problem anymore.  It is the problem of the service company.   I asked several times why they did not back their name, and the CS rep. made it perfectly clear it was not their issue.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Customer Service and even worse product!!!

I will never by a may tag washer again . I grew up with one but this Maytag 3000 series is the worst. Sounds so loud, different codes come up like F21 F28  and word SUDS. I have no idea what any of them mean. What I am hearing from other is it doesn't pay to fix it might as well buy a new washer. I only had for 2 years and only have 3 people in the house. I am very disappointed with Maytag company. I will let others know how I feel and tell them not to buy Maytag appliance either. I even bought extended warranty but doesn't mean a thing doesn't cover that. Who don't know that.

Our horrible Maytag washer's control panel also broke after 1 1/2 years of use.  With today's economy and 2 little babies we can't afford to buy another washing machine and certainly would expect it to last longer than 18 months.  We are irrate~   the company wont do anything for us.  I will never buy a maytag again.  What awful customer service!  NEVER BUY A MAYTAG!!!!

The LAST Maytag product I will ever purchase!  A couple years ago I purchased multiple Maytag appliances.  I was in the process of gutting and remodeling my place.  I bought the suite of applainces a bit early because they were on sale.  Two of the items are the Maytag 3000 series washer and dryer.  The sales person convinced me that although Maytag had a horrible reputation from their Neptune products, Maytag now builds very durable products in order to regain a quality brand reputation.  What a crock of sh--.  I recently installed the apppliances.  The clothes dryer (model MGDE300VW3) failed within a few months.  I called Maytag for assitance.  They confirmed that the dryer is malfunctioning and requires service.  However, Maytag will not help because the purchase occured more than one year ago.  Unbelievable for such an expensive and supposedly long lasting applaince!  Anyway, if anyone has a solution to the malfunction please let me know.  The dryer shuts off before the clothes are dry.  Sometimes the drum light turns on and the the timer flashes as if the door is opened.  Other times the dryer justs stops after a few minutes.  I already cleaned the moisture sensors.

Bought a new home 8 months ago with a matag w/d  3000 series included and the barrel during spin is screeching and making other noise.  Repair man tomorrow. Worried over what this soil cost above walking in the door. Can't believe what a poor product Maytag is and will NEVER patronize this co. and alert others.  This washer should be recalled! Single person usage!

I purchased a Maytag Series 3000 front load washer because I "thought" that Maytag was top of the line equipment. I just wanted to keep the repairman lonely. I have recently been getting the "F11" error message and the washer is useless. Investigating I have discovered that the repair is almost the cost of a replacement. Does anyone know of a good unit to replace it with that was NOT manufactured by Whirlpool Corp. ? If they will not recognize there is a problem with their equipment, then we need not furthur support their profits.

    very disappointed consumer
Maytag is not standing by the name that used to be a trusted product. what a shame to see all the negative comments about them. I also have their product that is now broken after 3 years. You pay so much and get so little. What a shame that companies are this way

Unfortunately, I purchased a maytag 3000 series washer and dryer. Yes! The bearing failed along with failure of control board. I got 3 yrs out of it. Luckily I had the extended warranty. I will never buy another maytag appliance ever again. Ban maytag!!!!!

    Another lost Maytag customer

Purchased the Maytag 3000 series washer and dryer set from Home Depot 3 years ago on Black Friday thinking i was getting a great product for a great price. WRONG!! Only a few fixable problems with the dryer while it was under warranty, but the washer is another story. Bearings on the washer just went and was told it would cost me 600$ to fix which was more than I paid haha. Went online and found the bearings and seal for 45$ total. Watched a youtube video and took my time doing it myself. 5 hours later all is fixed,........ for now! They used inferior bearings and Maytag should take responsibility for it. Good luck to everyone else with the same problem!

      Hello Lost,
Can you do us a favor and post the link for the parts you bought? I'd like to attempt the repair instead of waiting on the MAYTAG Repair man. The link to the how-to video would be great too. Thanks.

    extremely disappointed.
We are on our SECOND Maytag 3000 series (first was replaced after MUCH fighting with Maytag).  We have had 4 repairs in 4 years, all supposedly costing almost the cost of a new machine. It is now showing an f28 error and will be serviced again on the extended warranty we bought. Absolutely a disgrace. Hundreds of dollars for a piece of junk machine.  Maytag- you should be ashamed of yourselves. Recall this piece of junk.

I bought a Maytag 3000 series washer high efficiency in 2009.
I replaced a Kenmore that fell apart after a few years.
The Maytag has just had its first failure, a broken hinge on the door.
The original part price is $109 (the washer was about $600).
An look alike alternative part price is $87.
We use the washer for five people and do at least 10 loads per week.
We were not gentle to the door nor were we abusive, just typical use.
It broke after thousands of closures--the hinge that is.  If I had oiled it
it probably would have been okay.  It started binding then a small piece of metal broke off.
It still closes and we can use the machine, in fact it is  doing the second load of the day.
I am just ticked that the hinge cost so much, about 1/6 of the original price.

Maria, the washer is a high efficiency washer.  The principle of washing is different.
The old tub ringer washers used a whole tub of water and agitated the clothes in it.
The high efficiency washers use a little water, swish the clothes in it then fling the water out
with a high spin, then repeat.  It does a better job with less water because the clothes are
not sitting in a big tub of dirty water.

Ditto all the above gripes, moans, and complaints about the MAYTAG 3000 SERIES front load washer. Contrary to what has been advertised by MAYTAG about their products: The MAYTAG REPAIRMAN IS NOT LONELY... He's at my house constantly working on my washer. My latest dilemma with this piece of crap (MAYTAG 3000 Series) is the drum suspension and bearing. Currently, I'm using a laundry service while the MAYTAG Repairman waits for the parts. I should send MAYTAG the bill. I should have purchased a different product and I would have been miles ahead. I AM SO DONE WITH MAYTAG.

Yup.  Bought the machine 1.5 years ago.  Called Maytag/Whirlpool when the self clean didn't work the first time I tried it.  The nice lady on the phone told me it's a common problem but it does not affect anything else.  If it does, let them know.  Just out of warranty, it quit rinsing.  I called and was told they would pay to get it fixed.  It's been 3 months and 8 appointments with repair.  It can't be fixed.  It's likely a problem which was there all along.  I now have enough parts boxes in my garage to stack 9 feet high.  One part arrived filthy and with rust on it, too!  Maytag is "offering" to let us buy another piece of garbage from them for $200.  They couldn't pay me to take one of their machines again.  They owe me for time lost and wasted water and electricity due to a single load taking 24-48 hours to rinse out now.  WHERE IS THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT???

We bought the same set and had a technician come out the the house only to tell us that the noise is normal and it's caused by the drum bar rings also the detergent dispenser leaking was our fault because I wasn't usiNg HE products I almost came unglued when my husband told me that I sure let the same technician know when he came back that that wasn't the case all my products were still there and I pointed it out that there's the HE and I wasn't to be blamed also the screen is coming apart and the rubber sealer is wearing off I get this rubber smell along with grey rubber powder like all over my clothes and washer intitily we weren't told about the service charge upon making a house visit I paid just like everyone here a lot of money on a product that is not up to not even minimal standards I think we should file a lawsuit against maytag because these problems do exist and they could put out a better product for the money they charge then on top for a technician to come to the house that wasn't disclosed so a class action lawsuit is in order
