looking to buy a Magtag washer DONT DO IT.  We purchased our on 1/26/09 and we are currently waiting for the 4th drum/bearing assembly to be replaced.  It is on back order until 5/13/2011.  We have been waiting since 4/1/2011.  We called Maytag and basically got the too bad for you.  I was informed that since we purchased the extended warranty that it is not their problem anymore.  It is the problem of the service company.   I asked several times why they did not back their name, and the CS rep. made it perfectly clear it was not their issue.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Customer Service and even worse product!!!

    I too am suffering the F28, have read many threads on how to fix it, with no luck.  Washer is about 4 years old, but only has the use of 1 yr on it. (vacation home).
    We have also had issues with our Duet set...
    Really disappointed in this product, Of couse now that it's ka-plunk it's July 4th.  Like I'm gonna get it fixed any time soon.  Ugh.
    Looks like a Trip to the Depot for an LG.

    I spent $250 to repair my red 3000 Series Washer 6 weeks ago, it started making very loud noices in the spin cycle again about 3 weeks ago, the repairman just left and the estimate is $650!  I am sick after reading about all the issues with this series, the complaints have been going on for years!  Where is your integrity Maytag?

    We also but maytag 3000 and now we have the f28 also now what can i do to get it fix I dont have the papers

    yes this Maytag front load washer is terrible.  I have the extended warranty on it and am calling the repair man out for the second time in just 2 years.  It also makes a terrible sound and probably needs the drum replaced again!!!!!!!!!!!!!  dont buy one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I too purchased the maytag washer/ dryer  3000 series in 2009. The computer in the dryer went out and so did the money in my purse. It cost me $383. 00 to replace it. Afterwards it ran for 5 minutes and broke again, this time it was the thermo cut off switch and some other therma part. That cost me another $135.00.LONG STORY SHORT THE DRYER STILL ISN'T WORKING AND IM OUT OF $518.09 . Now I have to purchase a new w/ d set. WON'T BE MAYTAG!!!!!

    Wow I feel lucky! 3 years and no issue yet. Glad my dryer Is a Samsung, they don't match one red one white.  I bought on clearance .. When it does die I will not get a Maytag after reading this!!

    Daughter has the junk 3000 and continues getting f28 code. Maytag/sears say they don't know what the error code is. I now see all these complaints about the model and the f28 code. Gives me some ideas how to investigate without maytag being involved. Will never support maytag products again!

    I bought a maytag 3000 back in 2009 before we moved into our new home. We have had nothing but bad luck with it. The drum bearing is done and it sounds like a freight train. Very disappointed with maytag. Never buy one again especially when we have had one always.

    I bought the Maytag 3000 from Costco not long ago.. It seems to work great for the most part.  But when I put a single item in the washer it will not spin out the water.  It is totally dripping wet when done???  Work fine will a full load but one item does not?  Anyone know if this is a flaw of Maytag and what I should do?

    Purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer 3000 Series four years ago and almost to the date of purchase the washer is gone out completely.  Was told by Sears Repairman that it would cost $1175.00 to repair.  More than we originally paid for it.  Remind you it's only me and my husband in our household. Called Maytag only for them to say, oh we'll.  I am very upset for we thought Maytag was the top of the line.  I have purchased washers in the past from other companies that have lasted for years, in fact when I purchased this one my other one that I sold was working. Very disgusted.  Will never purchase another product from them.

    I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 3000 series in 2009. After 3 months, the washer's spin cycle sounded like a freight train and I was told that the drum bearings were going out on it. I asked Maytag for a complete replacement, instead of repairing it, but they insisted on repairing it. Two weeks later, the parts were finally delivered and it was replaced.
    Recently, water has come pouring out of the machine after the cycle is finished or the clothes come out sopping wet. Today, the freight train in back and rumbling through my laundry room!!!
    JUNK…DO NOT BUY MAYTAG!!!!!!

    Same ole song and dance. We bought the 3000 series washer and dryer in 2009(thinking it was top of the line and would last for years). Within the last few weeks, the dryer has started sounding like its about to explode and now the washer has quit working and throwing f25 code. I'm torn between trying to fix them myself or just junking them and buying a new set. Are all new appliances junk or just the maytag brand?

    Also having the F70/71 issue. Bought in 2009. Washer portion works good, but the replacement, YIKES!!!$$$

    Got my washer and dryer in May of last year.  One month had to call the place where I bought it. Had to keep calling. They finally csme to check it. Guy didn't what he was doing. They picked it up fixed after seem like three week. Now I'm having more problems f21 fixed it now the code f20. Why can't they tell you about all these code driving me crazy

    What a piece of junk!! I don't have any maytag washer but hearing all you complaints about the product i dont even think to buy nothing of that brand, sorry dudes!!
