I wrote my Senator asking why we are funding the Commerce Dept. if they won't do anything about the persistent calls from callers like Card Members Services, et al. He suggested suing them in small claims court. There is a $5000 limit here, but if everyone did it, that would be a lot of money. It's worth a try. If anyone has a list of corpotrate officers, that could be helpful, too.

Same problem, constant calls, and a hang up if I question too deeply. I have not given out any cc numbers, nor personal information, but will continue to string them along, and waste their time in hopes of the calls stopping. I will also try to contact an enforcement agency either on the state level, or federal and see if anything can be done but with budgets as depleted as they are I won't hold my breath waiting for the Government to do something, instead just continue to annoy them with stupid questions, and dead end lies. Good luck to all of you.

Like others who have posted remarks, I also am being hounded by "Card Member Services," which supposedly has a main office somewhere in Florida. I asked the telephone solicitor the exact address of the company and he replied, "I don't have time for this" and hung up. On reverse lookup, I got the number 212-312-2236. That area code is for a small part of Manhatten in NYC.
I also am on the "do not call" list, but these characters hound me anyway, often once a week. The federal government is incapable of protecting us from these scammers, thanks to the "deregulation" attitude of the Republicans.

I have been geting these calls for ages and asked them to stop but they keep on calling.I suggest that there are two methods of messing them up.One is to keep them talking for as long as possible and give them ficticios information as long as they will take it then get VERY rude and tell them where to go and what to do with their telephone.Second is to have a shistle or air horn beside the phone and blast the every time they call you, thus getiing their ears ringing and show that we can be as rude as they can be if they don't stop calling.

I have received calls on both cell phone and home #. I did put a block caller on my cell phone to stop receiving calls. This feature is capable on almost all cell phones. I did call the 800 525-2956 # and Lisa did answer as Card Member Services. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told none were available. She did confirm the number I was calling from and said she would remove from their call list. I am registered with the do not federal call list and will file a formal complaint with the Feds. since I now have a number for their company. They are definately a scam.

I have the same issue. They call my cell phone weekly even though I'm on the do not call list. Also, I've asked them repeatedly to take me off their call list, but it continues. Every time they call I ask for information about their company and they instantly hang up on me. I don't even have a credit card. Clearly they are a scam, do not give them any information!

I asked about Call blocking Pick up your phone dial *60 enter phone number you want blocked then # *80 to unblock a number
This will only block the number they are using now. But for me they seem to use the same number. Even if you have to block 5 or 10 numbers it will keep them from coming through.

Basically, I've given up. They call all the time and it's come through half a dozen numbers, including cell phones. I've decided to simply abuse the caller. I asked one guy if his mom was proud to have a thief in the family. Next one I talk to, I'll ask if he/she bragged at Thanksgiving dinner about how many identities he/she stole this year.

Another call from "Card Member Services." Almost daily. Have tried to get removed in past and told would be. Today, I asked what company I was speaking with and the person said we work with "Mastercard, Visa, American Express" and I asked which one of my cards they were calling about because the only one I use is at &.9% and I pay it off monthly. When asked trhe person just hung up after I told them I was sick and tired of getting called.

tired of being harrassed
I have been getting these calls for over a year. Usaually, 2 to 3 times a week. Now, it is 3 to 5 times a day. Just got two calls in less than 5 min. and both times was hung up on when I asked to speak to a supervisor and that I was tired of being harrassed and was going to press charges if the calls didn't stop. Not to mention, the three calls I got last night with the last one after 10p.m.. If this company was legit, then they would take your number of their list and they wouldn't hang up on you. It is nothing but a SCAM.

I just got another D--- call from Cardmembers Services. I get them constantly until I finally unpluged my land phone. I can not get them to stop calling me on my cell phone. They normally hang up on me when I ask to speak to someone in charge. This is the number they used to call me this time... 503-902-8252 I tried calling that number back but it would not work.
Cant the cell phone companies do anything about this. I have ATT.

Getting a whistle is a good idea. Think I will get one also. They are cheap enough. LOL I think that maybe making some type of noise that would hurt their ears might just work if enough people did it.

Problem with that idea is that all modern phone system have noise level limiter systems to prevent phones from being used as weapons. Apparently years ago people used to think it was fun doing what you are recommending as a joke.

Yes, same thing here too... Card Member Services calls our home phone almost daily and now they have gotten through on my cell no. too! Just hate the interruption and its sooooo irritating that they continue to call. Some consumer watch-dog agency should be able to stop these jerks.

I get constant calls from Card Member Services. I once got someone on the phone there who commenced to curse me out like I've never been cursed before. I wish out Texas Atty. General would do something about them as I get at least 5 calls a week. It's offensive.

The government will never do anything about. The are pretty much useless, except for wasting our tax dollars. They are just as bad as this company!

Add my complaints to all the others. They call several times a day now, always from different numbers. I usually just hangup when I hear "this is Rachel...." This morning I actually punched number one on the phone, and once a person answered I asked "whose cardmember services is this?" She hung up.
I'm tired of rushing to run to the phone, only to hear these a**holes.

I'm starting with a police whistle too but may graduate to an airhorn if they still continue. Today 4 times this afternoon each time a different number. This has turned into actual harassment now.
