Received 3 calls from these guys from 559-328-2353 at my office claiming to be some kind of Official US Branch of Govt. Anyways I called them to see what this was all about, and they couldn't get their names straight, So I asked for their address and the guy just hangs up. Its a SCAM of some kind for sure so don't fall for it.

    Also received the same type of message last week on our voicemail - Heavy Indian accent identified himself as James Wright from the department of legal affairs - Of course I knew this was a scam and I called the number he left (818) 482-2747 he answered and I threatened to report him to the Federal Government and he immediately hung up.

    I received a voice message on Friday 4/10/2015 from "Eric Foster" heavy accent - Dept of Legal Affairs US Treasury - advising me to return call as a suit was being filed against me - return number 909-589-1051.  Received another similar call today 4/13/2015 from "Sheldon Miller" same heavy accent, same basic message, return number this time was 949-289-8545.  I did call back, to both numbers, and both times someone answered immediately (like that ever happens when calling a real government agency).  When I called back they asked for my name and number, which I did not supply as I am certain this is a scam!

    Just received a telephone call from the same fraudulent individuals claiming to be the US  Legal Department .  I was left a voice message to return the call ASAP or I would be arrested.  The call came as caller unknown. FYI
    I will not be calling them back.  Thank you for your posts!

    They called looking for my husband. I gave them the local number for the FBI. Would love to see the looks on their faces when they answer the phone. Its a big scam. Please people due your homework before you send any money anywhere.

    My caller's name was Robin Smith.  Her accent was so heavy she had to talk very slowly.

    On 4-15-2015 I received the same message scam. Hey spoke with an Indian accent as well and was representing Austin Hall. Then he said Andrew Hall from the department of legal affairs and then the U.S. treasury. I called him back at 323-473-5475. I asked him(it was the guy on the recording) why I needed to retain an attorney with scepticisim   and he then ended the call. Hard to beleive they are traced down pretty easy. It was painfully obviuos that it was bogus.

    Received a call 4/15/15 from 909-343-1584 claiming to be from Internal Affairs and that I didn't claim $2k worth of taxes and a warrant was going to be issued for my arrest. I told him to F*** off i know it's a scam and he started talking sexually to me.... Ewww!!! Very heavy accent. Never give money over the phone or provide info. All the info he had on me was from years ago...

    Some woman with a clearly noticeable accent called at 8:30am today.  Claimed to be Stacy White of the Dept of Legal Affairs.

    She left a voice message exactly the same as has been described by others here.

    Needless to say this call will not be returned as it has scam written all over it.

    What a shame that some people believe that this type of activity is honest work.  It's a crime, that's what it is.

    One from "John Baker" US Treasury Legal Affairs, heavy accent, LA area number, can hear the crowded phone bank room in the background.

    My parents called me because of an answering machine message addressed to me.
    An Indian-accented woman who identifies herself as Stacy White with the Department of Legal Affairs reads through a script.
    She provided the phone number 760-306-5066.
    The script included "An enforcement action has begun against your name" and she advised if i could not call, I should get in touch with my legal representation.

    FYI, there's many, many voices saying the same script in the background of the message.
    Also, legal action would contact by mail not by phone... especially parents phone.

    I also received numerous calls from these idiots. The first number showed up as Sacremento, CA on my caller ID (916-287-8757). They called 5 times in two days. I didn't answer because I assumed it was a telemarketer who'd found a way around the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. They left an alarming message on my machine in an American sounding woman's voice saying that I was to call the U.S. Dept of Legal Affairs back at that number immediately because I had a charge of fraud against me and they'd sent me numerous letters to which I had not responded. If I didn't respond within the next 72 hours then law enforcement officials would show up on my doorstep. I ignored it because then I assumed it was a wrong number because 1) they didn't specify whom they were calling for and 2) I knew neither my husband nor myself had done anything to have any charges against us, fraud or otherwise. They left that same message 5 times April 8-9.  Then on April 14 I got the same message again from a New York, NY number
    (646) 543-5951.  Today, for some weird reason, I decided to call the numbers back but got no answer at the CA # and a message saying my party was unavailable at the NY # so I decided to look up the U.S. Dept of Legal Affairs telephone number because I figured it was a scam and I found all these posts. I feel so sorry for all the people they actually scare and/or rip off with this scam. I'm going to see who all I need to report this to to help shut it down!!!

    Just received a phone call from Adam Walker, from the Dept of Legal Affairs.  He claimed that an affirmative action suit was filed against one of my family members.  That family member hasn't lived in my home for ten years, so a red flag went up.   I googled the number then called him back from another number.  He wanted my number, but I refused to give it to him.  I told him I was going to file a fraud suit against him.  He refused to give me his name and hung up after I asked him for it.   The phone number was (760) 666-2353.  When I googled it it came up as MCI Worldcom Communications.

    I too received a heavily accented call from a Stacy White. I do not have anything against immigrants, but one thing I do know is that if someone has a heavy Indian accent they probably do not have a name like Stacy White. She too was from the Department of Legal Affairs and needed a callback from my attorney. Also wished me a blessed day. Callback number 818-937-0685. I won't be returning her call and I hope she has a blessed day as well.
