Received 3 calls from these guys from 559-328-2353 at my office claiming to be some kind of Official US Branch of Govt. Anyways I called them to see what this was all about, and they couldn't get their names straight, So I asked for their address and the guy just hangs up. Its a SCAM of some kind for sure so don't fall for it.

    This is Leslie Owens with the Department of legal fees and I was trying to reach you in regards to a very important issue? This is never ever modification for you in regards to the enforcement actions that happened started taking johnny. My number is (718) 734-1473. I repeat it's (718) 734-1473. If for any reason you are busy to call but I would suggest you to have your retained attorney to do it for you at your main calling. I might and I will leave a message for you I hope your take is right and call me right back this is Leslie calling with the Department of legal affairs. Looking forward to speak to you until then have a blessed day and God bless.

      Got the same call from a Man with a hindu accent, claiming he was from the state department, when I asked to get me off his list; he told me to get a lawyer because I was going to jail.

      I received the exact same call today, He said his name was Ben Cooper.  Could barely understand him because heavy accent, it almost sounded like it was a recorded computer voice message.  He left a number 718-551-9487 with same threat.  I decided to goggle and found a number of posts about he scam.  Calling my family and friends to inform them.

    I just got  call from Arnold James from the Department of Legal Affairs.  His number is (929) 244-4740 in New York, NY June 2, 2016.  He has a heavy Indian Accent as well.  Who can we call to turn him into the authorities?  I did block this caller.

    We received a  call from 804 212 0341 a mab with a heavy Indian accent answered and said his name was Charles. I asked why they didn;t take it from this years return    and he replied it was from 3 previous years. I then said I didn't believe him and he said the police will come with a warrent. I am still waiting

    Had the same call except the # was 718-725-8936. Heavy accent, said his name was Jason smith. But sounded female..lol  said he was calling from legal affairs. Beware!!  I reversed the number in white pages and it came up scam alert

    Received message today from Ben Cooper. Supposedly from Establishment of legal affairs num 646 687 7740 suggested retaining lawyer contact him ended with have a great day.

    Received a call June 7, 2016 from "Leslie Owens" saying she was with the Dept. of Legal Affairs, US Treasury.  She had a
    foreign accent, said she was giving verbal notification that "legal proceedings have begun against you, and you need to call
    217-501-2312 to avoid a legal mess if you delay."  Clearly a scam.  The IRS notifies a taxpayer if they owe anything, not these phonies.

    My message was from   "Leslie Owens" and the number was 909-999-6367...after basically threatening me with "impending legal action" she wished me a 'blessed day".

    Just got this message from Leslie at Dept. of Legal Affairs.  718-734-1473.  Same scam legal action being brought against me.  Did not give my name or ask for any persons name.   To have attorney call back to avoid huge legal involvement.

    I received a voice message on June 8, 2016 from 804-403-1087. The message was automated (female robot) from "Legal Affairs at the US Treasury Department badge number 9165 for an enforcement action regarding tax fraud against my name". Which doesn't make sense in itself since they said I would be the one arrested. "Hope to hear from you soon before the charges are pressed against you." I didn't call back. Found this thread instead. Glad it exists.

    Yes , they also almost got me.  I was ready to pay. Lucky for me for some reason I couldn't find the money order they wanted that day . So as scared as I was,  it gave me time to think.
    OK,  if I owed money to IRS wish I don't think so,
    I better stop to an IRS office or the police to get it over with or ask directly ( so,  I did ) .
    And nothing,  I didn't owe any money,  but they almost got me...
    That was a very scary moment,  they threatened me so bad... it took me a while to recover from that...

    Same thing... Mr. Peterson who couldn't even pronounce his own name...I said are you serious (sarcastically). He told me to f-off and then called back immediately.  I told him to stop calling my number because I know it's a scam.

    I got this call left on my answering machine yesterday, I fully intend to buy a cheap air horn and next time I will call them back, speak very softly for about 30 seconds then BLAST!

    Got the same message about "a legal mess" from Legal Affairs. I simply blocked their number on my phone. To get me again they'll have to use different number.
