Received 3 calls from these guys from 559-328-2353 at my office claiming to be some kind of Official US Branch of Govt. Anyways I called them to see what this was all about, and they couldn't get their names straight, So I asked for their address and the guy just hangs up. Its a SCAM of some kind for sure so don't fall for it.

I received a phone call today from Leslie Owens from Dept. of legal affairs warning me of legal action because I failed to pay my 2013 Federal Taxes. I told her I paid them, and she proceeded to tell me the amount I owed, and that a Certified Letter had been delivered to my house, but because I wasn't there to sign, they had to take letter back. The IRS looked at that as if I were committing tax evasion. I said I filed my taxes and had the copy in my files. She said because I was getting argumentative, she sent out a 911 call, and the police were on their way with a warrant to arrest me and put me in jail for 3-6 months. As soon as I would hang up, the police would come within the next 30-40 min. Then she transferred me to someone else who would tell me what to do to avoid arrest. Another man got on the phone (by the way, both had a heavy accent), and he proceeded to tell me that he looked at my records and found that I had no criminal record and that I always paid my taxes in the past. So I could avoid going to jail if I got in my vehicle, took a phone charger, credit cards, and debit cards, and go to the bank to take out the exact amount of money that I "owed". I was not to hang up with him, but put the phone on speaker while I was to drive. He made it sound so official, giving his badge number...Meanwhile, I had other incoming calls, and the man said the police officers were calling me to tell me they were on their way. I put the phone down and said I needed to get my things, and he warned me not to hang up because as soon as we would get disconnected, the police would come for me. I was to keep him on the line while I was supposed to drive to the bank and withdraw the money. But instead, what I did was call my people who did my taxes (the man had told me not to call anyone, but I did anyway). My very reliable CPA told me in no uncertain terms, "SCAM!!!!" I even answered phone call on another line and a man with the same heavy accent told me he was calling from the police station (and he gave me the correct name and address of my local police station). He told me that the Dept. of Legal Affairs contacted him that I was argumentative and some other legal jargon...and that they would be coming to my house with a warrant. I needed to contact that dept. and "make amends" by doing exactly what they said in how to pay the tax. Meanwhile, my son was googling Dept. of Legal Affairs and saw all these blogs about this being a scam. I immediately hung up, called my local police station, and he assured me that the IRS would never do something like this and that it's a scam. Also when the man called me who said he was the "police", the caller ID said "out of area". My son pointed out, how can the local police number come up as out of area?  Good point!!! As I'm finally over my panic and thinking clearly, I realized that all 3 individual people I had talked to all had the same heavy accent. And after I had hung up, a policeman never showed up at my house within the next 30-40 min. with a warrant to arrest me and throw me in jail for 3-6 months!!!

Received a call I could not answer from 914-219-0067 (Armonk, NY). Message left was difficult to understand due to heavy Indian accent. I did get that it was Department of Legal Affairs calling in reference to pending action against me. To call right away to avoid this legal action. And then....to have a nice day.  Too funny!  Didn't think I was in any hot water.  Good to see from other posts that this is entirely a scam.  Would be hard to think otherwise.  If it were on the up-and-up, I would have expected to receive some registered mail first.  These people are relentless!  I hope those of the older generation do not fall for this scam.

I just got one just now july 26th 2016, caller ID shows up as Charles Scott 347-349-7790. said she was Leslie Owens, had an accent, so I knew she wasn't american. When I called back she said her real name which I didn't catch, she read from the exact same script I have been seeing on line. I told her what she said is not true and I started asking questions, she started to talk over me and she said she would send out the warrant for my arrest! and then hung up.

I have received this call multiple times with a Indian accent from 716-902-6393, last name is Miller every time, this time was David Miller, I just ignore it and report the number to the "REAL" US Treasury Department, I could tell he was reading from a script..

Now Leslie is using the number 202-281-7828. Reported it to the attorney general and the treasury dept. What do these people think we are stupid?

My dad got a call today (7/26/16) from (716)902-6393. "David Miller" with an Indian or Asian accent left a message with same info as above. Legal action, contact him immediately, or our retainer lawyer. We tried calling the number 6 different times but got busy signals every time. It's a big ol scam. Be careful.

Today I received a call from Johnny marshal alleging to be calling from the department of legal affairs phone number 315 282 5020. He stated that I needed to call him back because he had a law enforcement action against me, and that this was a verbal notification, that I needed to have an attorney
