Received 3 calls from these guys from 559-328-2353 at my office claiming to be some kind of Official US Branch of Govt. Anyways I called them to see what this was all about, and they couldn't get their names straight, So I asked for their address and the guy just hangs up. Its a SCAM of some kind for sure so don't fall for it.

    Just got the same call from 760-666-1503. From the initial voice mail on my phone, to the answering machine, and then finally, to the actual person I spoke to, all of them had foreign accents---I'm guessing India. When he got to the part of sending the cops to my house, I said, "Bring it on *expletive*, I would LOVE to talk to them," and then he hung up for some reason.

    I got the same message earlier this week from 202 241-7537 came up as "Washington DC" from  "James Harris with the department of Legal Affairs".  The accent was hilarious. He was trying to sound like a southerner, but clearly wasn't... maybe eastern European?

    I just received a phone call from kevin green with a heavy Asian accent this afternoon from 909-271-3226 he wanted to speak with my husband but all he would tell me was he was from the us treasury, dept of legal affairs and if my husband didn't call him back or have a lawyer call back that he would be in a huge legal mess and there was an imposement action against him. I waited for a couple of hours, did some research, found this website and a few others. called the number back 3 times and all 3 times it gave me a disconnected signal. I think I have just (attempted) been scammed.

    Message from the Dept. of Legal Affairs. Heavy Indian accent but I think the last name was Cooper.
    Telephone # 949-783-6935. Same type of threat.

    Just received a call from 202-810-8171 caller ID came up as Voice network, some guy with a heavy accent claimed he was from the Dept. of Legal Affairs, when I said I know this is scam, he proceeded and called me a [***]! When I said I'm going to report this number online as a scam he said "oooh I'm scared" .... what a joke!

      Just got a call from # 202-241-8541 asking for my son who does not live here. I read this forum, called back and received the same type of information that most others had gotten, owed over 3,000 in back taxes for 2008. She asked for my attorneys name, I didn't provide it, I asked to talk with her supervisor to verify information, she said the police would be at the door in one hour to arrest me. I told her that I would be waiting for them and suddenly she hung up. What a bunch of b&*(%#$t.

    This pakistani or indian accented [***] clown named James Howard from legal affairs left a voicemail. Left 323-786-9842 as the contact. I figured it was a scam but called the number anyway. Just went to voicemail saying it was the us treasury.

    I received a call today from a very thick accented individual that I could barely understand.  I never did get his name but he stated he was from the US Department of the Treasuries Legal Affairs division.  He went on to say that the Treasury was bringing a suit against me.  When I told him i couldn't understand a word he was saying he hung up.  The number was 202-810-8171.

    Just received a call from 909-237-5096 from Kevin Green when I called back a man with thick  accent picked up and said that was his associate and there are 3 charges against me not filing taxes, falsifying information and 3c aligations he said this is the US Treasury dept. He said they tried to deliver 2 letters to my house in July and no one was there to receive them. I hung up

    I received a VM yesterday, October 16, 2014, from 202-241-8541 from someone named Jeff Talman.  I may have the name wrong.  Even listening repeatedly to the message, I could barely make out the message through the thick foreign accent.  Like the posts herein, he reported that he was from the Department of Legal Affairs and was calling regarding legal action instituted against me.  He advised me to return the call immediately with my attorney.  Joke is rather on him and this scam since I work for the world's largest law firm.  The "verbal notification" was a laughable touch.

      The message I got today was the same as what you stated and he used a former married name. So this is a scam and I don't have anything to worry about right?

    Got a call from 513-422-3848 from a heavily accented person named Paul Adams. Knew it was a scam when he had and american name with a heavy foreign accent.

    my daughter received a call from a different number. They would not tell me what the call was about ! Glad we looked this up !
