Received 3 calls from these guys from 559-328-2353 at my office claiming to be some kind of Official US Branch of Govt. Anyways I called them to see what this was all about, and they couldn't get their names straight, So I asked for their address and the guy just hangs up. Its a SCAM of some kind for sure so don't fall for it.

    Got one of these calls today. After I grilled him and he hung up on me, I called him back. He said I was being recorded, I said "Oh good! Do you know it is a Federal offense to impersonate a Federal employee?" and he said "OH YOU [***]!" and hung up on me.

    Received a call from (213) 221-8472:  Mike Lee....bad English accent threatening my son, who lives in the Mid-West. I picked up the phone and ask if I could be of assistance......It was a recording that kept on going.  Called back, no answer.

    Just received a call from a woman claiming to be from the Dept. Of Legal Affairs, US Treasury. She said that an arrest warrant was issued in my name and it was important that my legal agent or attorney contact them to clarify the charges. I could be arrested at any time! I looked up the info on line while I had her on the phone and found out it was a scam. I informed her that I knew it was a scam and would be making a report. She hung up. The number she gave me to call back is 509-440-6986 ext 505

    I got a phone call from a Jack Sanders from US Dept of Legal Affairs.  He told me that I needed to call him.  He said we needed to get an attorney if I didn't call back.  I of course was a bit shaken by this.  I called back and left him my name and number, wasn't thinking, guess I got caught up in the moment.  Did research and found this site.  Wish I would of done it before calling them back.  Can't wait for them to call me back now!  Maybe if I speak in a different language he'll hang up on me.  The number he called from was 202-241-7513

    Got the same message from a 212 area code. There's a way they can do a VoIP call from a foreign country and make it look like a US number. I'm screening calls and disconnecting whenever it's them. Annoying but harmless if you don't fall for their nonsense.

    I received a few calls from 559-797-8497 today.  I don't usually answer calls unless I know who it is, so I let it go to voicemail.  They were prerecorded calls.  Here's a transcription:

    Hi, this message is intended to contact you.  My name is Steve Martin and I'm calling regarding enforcement actions executed by U.S. Treasury intending your serious attention.  Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense.  My number is 559-797-8497.  I repeat 559-797-8497.  I advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you.  Thank you.

    Between the poor grammar and accent it was difficult to understand, but I was sure it was a scam.  A quick search for the phone number yielded this site.  Make sure and file a complaint with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/GettingStarted?NextQID=216&Selected=t

    I received a similar message this afternoon from someone named Alan or Alex Clark from the number 559-554-3709. It was very difficult to understand and I was sure it was a scam. After I called him back, I was sure of it, when he wouldn't give me any information on what the call was about. After pressing him further, and asking to speak to a superior, he then quickly hung up.

    Just received a scary call from 323-786-0797.  It is an LA number.  The guy said he was from the department of legal affairs and when I asked to transfer to his manager he "transferred" me to another guy who sounded the same.  THICK Indian accents.  They were named Mark Johnson and Ryan Coleman (nice Indian names)!  He read me some letter from the IRS that I had never responded to.  When I asked him if it was an individual or joint return he said individual from 2009.  At this I felt relieved, but mad and stated that I hadn't filed an individual return in 25 years.  He hung up.  Kind of wish I had let him get to the part about wanting my credit card for the $3000+ payment, but unfortunately I got too angry too soon for him!

    I received two messages from a Nelson Martin claiming to be calling on behalf of the US dept of Treasury legal affairs. All of the messages above are pretty much verbatim what this guy told me and with the thickest Indian accent I have ever heard. He would not give me any information on why he was calling me and said if I contact the US dept of Treasury all my questions would be answered then asked him if your calling on their behalf why do I need to call them. He stumbled over his words and would not give me any information so with raised voices saying I've done my research and your not going to scam any money out of me and hung up. He called back right away and said just you and wait see you will be arrested within 24 hours I hope you enjoy prison. This all came from the 619 area code. These people are sick!!!!

    I got the same legal action complaint from Dept of Legal Affairs claiming to be part of the govt dept. There New number is 213-289-5034
    A scam alright...had Microsoft rep claiming to be one, stated that There was an error on my computer and would like to fix it...started asking for computer pass word. These people are scumbags >3<
    Rule of thumb....1) Don't state who it's for, don't give'm your name 2) Don't give comp pass word 3) Don't give SSN, Drivers license etc 4) Google if it's legit company or organization.

    Thank you all......Just got home from work to the same kind of message on my answering machine!!  Sounded like a scam and after reading all the messages it is confirmed.

    Got the same message today as well. Caller ID showed San Francisco CA - 415-926-4075. An individual with the name of Frank something, but after the threatening message they did end with have a blessed day:)

    So glad I checked online about this, I had no idea this was going on!  Came home to a message on my home phone that said Austin Hall was contacting my husband about a legal matter that was being brought to my husband.  This was a courtesy call from Dept of legal Affairs and that if he didn't return the call that his attoeney should.  He left the number 1-951-888-9785.  You can hardly understand him with his thick accent.  Thank you all for your posts on this as I was really freaked out!  Wish there was more we could do to stop these low life scammers!

    I receive several calls today from two different "Steve Martins" from two different phone numbers.  

    The first number was (786) 486-0869.  This "Steve Martin" claimed to be exercising an "Enforcement Action" on part of the "Treasury Department".  

    The second number was (213) 289-5037.  This "Steve Martin" claimed to be from the "Department of Legal Affairs".    

    I hope both of them eat [***] for dinner every night.

    I got a call last week from Razz Morgan from the Department of Legal Affairs, he said there was enforcement action against my name. He said for me to return the call to 909-999-6739 and have my lawyer with me. He is definetely from India, heavy accent. When I call that # 909-999-6739 I get a recordnig say that its a magic jack # and not assigned at the present time.

      Got call from same number 909-999-6739, robotic message  claiming to be Microsoft, and saying  my key was expired, and to call some 800 number. Caller id listed call to be John Williams.

    Just got a phone call from 760- 666-1503. stated he was from Legal Affairs them same thing as everyone else, I need to call back, I called back and there was a voice mail only. Thick accent, I could barely understand him.
