We went to a presentation for what we thought was a membership in a vacation club. If we joined this club we would be able to access condo, cruises, and resorts that we could rent for $299 for a 7 night/8days visit. Sales pressure was very high and we were never left alone to discuss joining this club. When we asked for privacy to discuss, the guy left and another took his place. They told us over & over this was a vacation club membership and they were not connected to a Timeshare group. MVG would even finance our loan at 0% interest and if we were not happy then they would refund our money. Great!! We were taken to an office and documents were presented to us to sign. Just a lot of legal steps(right). We would have to sign a license agreement to be able to use the software to search their listings. The software upgrades were to be $199 per year. So we paid $2,500 down and financed $3500 at 0% interest. No mention that we had three days to cancel(knew we were leaving the next morning).

Sounds pretty good doesn't it. Well here is the truth of the matter.
There is no club membership. You are buying a software license to search listing where the $299 places are out of the way places that no one wants to visit. MVG does not finance the load they outsource to Universal Account Servicing, LLC (rudest people I have ever had to chance to speak to). Software upgrades are $299 for the first year with a 10% increase every year. When I asked to cancel the club membership(written, certified letter)they did not pick the letter up. Next I sent it in a letter and Ian called and when asked about refund statement was "you do not have that in writing".

We are still trying to get out of this but I do not know if that is possible. Bad thing is that the lone person in the Welcome Center at Myrtle Beach sent us over to this group. Does anyone have any suggestions about canceling this?  Yes, we know we are stupid people to have fallen for this scam.

I used to work at the Monster Resorts Group. Let me fill you guys in on a couple of things. They monitor these websites, as you can see by the owner leaving a post. They frequently read them and add positive comments about themselves (as though they were a satisfied customer) Its all about the money with them. There are many more dissatisfied customers. Most dont leave messages on these sites. Once they have your money, you dont exist. And they are willing to tell you anything to get it. Steer clear and do your research. There are other companies just as bad, if not worse. Oh an by the way. Check out Monster Vacations Group on BBB. They are no longer a BBB accredited business and it states they are out of business. Dont worry guys, they will be soon. One happy customer tells 3 people. One angry customer tells 300. Keep posting and keep those closest to you safe by not letting them lose their money with snakes like these guys. And that guy Ian everyone talks about. He only comes across slick cause he practices. He says the same lines every time he does a presentation. Everything with them is fine tuned and done purposely.

I forgot to tell you. I was there when they made up all of the positive comments that are on their own website from all of those made up customers. They sat their for about an hour and typed all of it out. I could go on and on but im tired. Goodnight

    Disgruntled employee,

Please do not fabricate your stories on the web for others to see, this is clearly harrasment.  If you have a problem with our company or its practices you should contact us directly.  Our BBB rating with Monster Vacations Group is an A- which clearly does not put us out of business.  Each customer post on MVG websites are from actual customers who have used and enjoy the product.  We have contacted our attorney and are running a reverse search to find the email address and who this blog belongs to.

    Sincerely,

    Miss Jackie,

How long our company has been open and how long we have been an accredited business does differ.  We have 2 seperate companies, MRG (opened first)is responsible for marketing various timeshare/fractional destinations across the country with its own set of customers.  MVG (opened second)is an internet whole sale company providing customers with a secured password and user id protected website.  MRG has had over 15000 customers since 1/28/08 and the level of complaints is not where we would like it to be, but by no means does this mean we have deceptive business practices.  MVG has over 1000 owners as a distributor and there are less that 10 complaints on the web about us.  I have personally responded to any and all concerns of our customers as you can see.  I do understand we will have a few unhappy customers as does any business (you can find complaints against Mercedes-Benz if you look for them), but we have done everything in our power to talk to each customer and find out how we can help.  I am offering the same to you if you would please call me directly 843.457.6161.

    Sincerely,

    Andrew McGill

Andrew, I have been getting calls from MRG asking for my credit card number for $299 plus tax without any guarantee that the offer is legitamate.  You don't have a web site that I can find.  No guarantee that it is a scam.  Glad to see something here.

Well, Andrew, I have left you two messages via your posted phone contact # since 4/21/2018, and have yet to receive a return call.  I attempted to cancel my MVG within 4 hours of giving you my credit card number.  Under Federal Law, I have a 72 hour right of recision as I have not received any products or services.  Your company, basically, told me I was screwed.  I will be filing a complaint with the Atty. General & with the BBB.  I may go further with a class action lawsuit.  Your call & I will give you 24 hours to respond prior to filing.

More inconsistencies in what is advertised by MVG and what the printed contract says. My contract say they are NOT a travel club, travel agency or membership company. Also, after the software have been provided our purchase agreement has been fulfilled and no other obligations exist with regard to the purchase of the License.
Who exactly is this company? What do they provide for our money?
I'm retired and have lots of time to continue the research of them..something that I should have done up front.
THIS IS FROM "ONE" OF THEIR ADVERTISING WEBSITES. (They also say in contract that they are not a timeshare.)
Monster Vacations Group was formed in 2007 to do one thing for the customer...save you money! Our unique program uses the world wide web to search for everything from getaways and vacations to cruises and catamarans with only one parameter...saving you, the customer, more money than any other booking site or travel agency (including timeshare).

Our password protected and restricted website(www.monstervacationsgroup.com) is only available to our registered owners. This ensures no saturation of the market. A Monster
Vacations Group membership is ideal for families and couples alike who enjoy traveling at least once a year. The amazing thing about our program is the number of locations available to all of our owners even during peak seasons where inventory can be very challenging.

We have destinations both domestic and abroad with no travel restrictions such as the infamous "black out" dates or size of unit. We are headquartered in Myrtle Beach, SC where we have two
    different marketing agencies.

You may not have heard of Monster Vacations Group yet, which is understandable because potential customers can only view our program by appointment while traveling to the Myrtle Beach area. This insures the integrity of our services and commitments to our customers.

We thank you for visiting us here at Monster Vacations Group and look forward to hearing from you!

    Andrew,
Why is that you respond to negative complaints that are made public, but you do not respond nor return phone calls that are made to you.  A lot of these issues could probably be handled professionally if you were to return calls, then we would not have to resort to public forums!

We also got taken in by the Monster. We  were in Myrtle Beach with three children and went to their big presentation. This was the week after Christmas,2008. So, this scam has been going on for a while. They offered us a free vacation in their great hotel when we could come back. We gave them our money and when we called back for our "beautiful oceanfront room" they offfered us a ONE BEDROOM.  Of course the hotel has two bedroom spaces, but none were available at any of the times we could go. Who can stay in a one bedroom with three kids.?  We also have tried to book space through their club, but got better rates trough AAA.WE ARE THROUGHLY DISGUSTED WITH THESE PEOPLE. dON'T GIVE THEM A DIME OF YOUR MONEY.

Please read page 2 of this well thought out document by MVG that totally release them from responsibility. "MVG is not a travel club, travel agency, membership company, time share company or exchange company.  What exactly are they? They describe the company in presentation and in the documents that I copied from the web as being all of the things that the contract says they are not. License type: platinum. Am I the only that read andrew mcgill fenderbosch say there are no levels in MVG? Reading the post I gather there are different levels of cost (ours cost $5,000.00)
Each contract appears to be designed to fit whatever your (the buyer at that time) questions may be.
Close all accounts that they have information, report them to the South Carolina BBB and the Attorney General's office and We all should continue in any legal way necessary.  All of their advertisment is smoke screen and mirrors. After 2 1/2hrs of pressurized talking, papers are presented and others are placed in the fancy packet after you sign.  Some of the pages are numbered and some are not.
Let's keep talking, Each One Can Reach One.

All phone calls get returned if we have received messages.  In some cases there are unhappy customers even after we have spoken with them.  We do everything in our power to please each customer within our company guidelines of what benefits we offer.  Is there a call you have made that has not been returned?

    Sincerely,

i went to bank today they felt it was fraud so they closed the acct. that they were going to take the monthly payments from the credit card co. is siding to my side already because she had it listed as a timeshare and i told here that it wasnt and she put in dispute charges in the 3 day rule does not really apply because you donnt get to see what you bought for 10-14 days when you get your code so as of now i got half of my money back and should get the rest back within a month but you do have to inform monster vac that you want a refund and that you are closing the acct that they have best of luck to you all
