We went to a presentation for what we thought was a membership in a vacation club. If we joined this club we would be able to access condo, cruises, and resorts that we could rent for $299 for a 7 night/8days visit. Sales pressure was very high and we were never left alone to discuss joining this club. When we asked for privacy to discuss, the guy left and another took his place. They told us over & over this was a vacation club membership and they were not connected to a Timeshare group. MVG would even finance our loan at 0% interest and if we were not happy then they would refund our money. Great!! We were taken to an office and documents were presented to us to sign. Just a lot of legal steps(right). We would have to sign a license agreement to be able to use the software to search their listings. The software upgrades were to be $199 per year. So we paid $2,500 down and financed $3500 at 0% interest. No mention that we had three days to cancel(knew we were leaving the next morning).

Sounds pretty good doesn't it. Well here is the truth of the matter.
There is no club membership. You are buying a software license to search listing where the $299 places are out of the way places that no one wants to visit. MVG does not finance the load they outsource to Universal Account Servicing, LLC (rudest people I have ever had to chance to speak to). Software upgrades are $299 for the first year with a 10% increase every year. When I asked to cancel the club membership(written, certified letter)they did not pick the letter up. Next I sent it in a letter and Ian called and when asked about refund statement was "you do not have that in writing".

We are still trying to get out of this but I do not know if that is possible. Bad thing is that the lone person in the Welcome Center at Myrtle Beach sent us over to this group. Does anyone have any suggestions about canceling this?  Yes, we know we are stupid people to have fallen for this scam.

I wish I could help but I was slicked talked into this as well. I purchased from MVG on a Sunday and was scheduled to check out on Monday. Review contract, weighed pro and cons and decided I was paying for anything other than high expectation. Nothing to really call my own. I sent a certified letter 3 days later informing them that I wish to cancel our contract. I was informed there was no cancellation. I have never heard of such. I was told the only thing that wasn't refundable was the $250. processing fee. We've been SCAMED!!!!!

Yes I am unhappy. Billy told us the $250 processing fee was non-refundable, there was a downpayment of $1399. We were never told we couldn't cancel the contract nor that it was final. This was done on a Sunday, I checked out of the resort on Monday. 3 days later we sent a letter stating our wishes to cancel but was told we couldn't cancel. We have never heard of not having a cancellation window. I informed Billy that I have a contract with Festiva and he informed me that with someone he knows he could get me out of the contract but I would lose what money I already have infested with Festiva. I am in the process of purchasing a home and if I went that route it would go on my credit report which would cause my credit score to drop. This I DONT need. All we want is our $1399 back.

Were you able to cancel your contract and if so, how? I tried to cancel mine after 3 days and I was told you there was no cancellation policy.

Did they refund your money after the three day window? My sister and I purchased on Dec 19, 2010 (Sun). After weighing our pros and cons we decided we were paying 7,000 for nothing but the use of software in which you have to pay 199.00 yearly according MVG to use. So, we were trying to figure out exactly what we were getting for our money. NOTHING! Bill told us that the only thing that wasn't refundable was the 250.00 processing fee.We wrote a letter telling our intent for rescission. We received a letter telling us that all sales are final. I have emailed MVG to let them know that we questioned Bill about that statement and he told us that the only thing that wasn't refundable was $250. processing fee. Any suggestions? We were not even told about the 3 day rescission law. I know from dealing with past businesses in SC that there normally is a 5 day window.

That makes sense. Were you told about this through your bank? 3 day window doesn't really count because you haven't had the opportunity to actually view what you've purchased.

Didn't you have to sign a document acknowledging you understood that you have a 3 day right to cancel?  Everyone else did...

Didn't you have to sign a paper stating that you had a 3 day right of recision?  I know we did.

There are an awful lot of complaints here that just don't seem based in fact.  We joined a few months ago and have already realized a BUNCH of savings.  The experience some of these ppl talk about is VERY different from what we saw...

The law is 3 days.  You signed something stating you understood this...

Didn't you sign that you understood these rights?  Everyone in my group had to...  Also, they have a play room for kids.  If you didn't want to leave them there, why DID you?  If you felt you were being herded like cattle and your kids were hostage, why'd you plunk down $1500?  Why HAVEN'T you used it?  Whose fault is that?  I swear, you people are strange.  I've had a great experience and the stuff you describe is TOTALLY different from what my wife and I saw.  Your story doesn't make sense.  Slandering a good company because you won't acknowledge your own shortcomings is pretty low!

You know what I'm noticing?  Most of the people with complaints don't respond back.  Is this because they've received help and are now satisfied?  That's what it looks like to me.  From what I've seen, thousands are happy with their service and the few that aren't seem to mostly figure out their problem and don't come back here.  The few who do seem to be untruthful.

SOOO... you're saying that they spent the whole time bashing the very product they were promoting?  THAT REALLY SOUNDS TRUTHFUL!  LOL, you are a joke!
