We went to a presentation for what we thought was a membership in a vacation club. If we joined this club we would be able to access condo, cruises, and resorts that we could rent for $299 for a 7 night/8days visit. Sales pressure was very high and we were never left alone to discuss joining this club. When we asked for privacy to discuss, the guy left and another took his place. They told us over & over this was a vacation club membership and they were not connected to a Timeshare group. MVG would even finance our loan at 0% interest and if we were not happy then they would refund our money. Great!! We were taken to an office and documents were presented to us to sign. Just a lot of legal steps(right). We would have to sign a license agreement to be able to use the software to search their listings. The software upgrades were to be $199 per year. So we paid $2,500 down and financed $3500 at 0% interest. No mention that we had three days to cancel(knew we were leaving the next morning).

Sounds pretty good doesn't it. Well here is the truth of the matter.
There is no club membership. You are buying a software license to search listing where the $299 places are out of the way places that no one wants to visit. MVG does not finance the load they outsource to Universal Account Servicing, LLC (rudest people I have ever had to chance to speak to). Software upgrades are $299 for the first year with a 10% increase every year. When I asked to cancel the club membership(written, certified letter)they did not pick the letter up. Next I sent it in a letter and Ian called and when asked about refund statement was "you do not have that in writing".

We are still trying to get out of this but I do not know if that is possible. Bad thing is that the lone person in the Welcome Center at Myrtle Beach sent us over to this group. Does anyone have any suggestions about canceling this?  Yes, we know we are stupid people to have fallen for this scam.

    Andrew,
You spoke to my husband after several phone calls to Marly and you told him that you would get back to him "no later than Wednesday", it is now 2 Wednesdays from when you were suppose to call him.  So yes!  Again, there is a call that has not been returned BY YOU after YOU spoke to my husband and told him YOU would get back to him.

    Mrs.

What is your husband's name? I am not saying that this is not the case, but I have not spoken with anyone from Maryland in the past weeks and am not even sure what I would be calling him back about.  I will follow up with Marle to see if it rings a bell, could you please provide me with your name or call me directly @ 843.457.6161

My husband and I have a complaint on the other site for Monster Vacation Group.  Please go read our complaint. There we put out the question. How about doing a Class Action Suit?

Monster Resort Group calls our house every day, several times a day to try to scam us.  We are on the National Do Not Call Registry, so they are breaking the law every time they call us.  This ridiculousness has got to stop, so I am going to call the Attorney General's office tomorrow.

I no longer work for MVG but I do take pride in the fact that I do the best job that can.  I am very sorry if I let you down or disappointed you in any way. At the time you sent your posting I truley believed in what they were selling. I was not allowed to mention the 3 days cancellation for obvious reasons. Please forgive me.  God bless you and your family.

I bet you didn't think to post such hateful things when you worked there.  Sounds like you got fired and not too happy about it to me. Now that you are not getting your ego stroked, you want to throw a temper tantrum.  Is that how people should really act?  You screw up, get fired, TRY to get even?  How is this adult like?  Do you own your own business?  If so I feel bad for your employees because it sounds like when people make you mad, you will do anything it takes to shove it back in their face.

You were there, but just now letting people know?  Doesn't that make you part of the problem and not part of the solution?  You could have saved a lot of people before, but you wait until you are no longer employed?  You could have done something about it when you worked there.

Wow!  Been there, done that.  All Mr.  McGill keeps telling me is that I should let them book my next vacation.  I tried to book through MVG website summer of 09 and couldn't go when and where we wanted, and the prices are not what they said at the presentation.  Oh, they know how to suck you in with the promise of "$349-399, even in Hawaii the week of Christmas", but when it comes down to it, prices are much higher.  I also priced a cruise.  Wow, I can get one way cheaper without MVG.  I filed complaint with BBB and MVG told them I am satisfied, so BBB couldn't do any thing else. They sure have learned how to work things.  I am sure the Mr. McGill will comment on this post.  He monitors these sites closely.  Then he'll say, "you didn't call so I could help you use the website".

We also, were hearded in like cattle to thier presentation. They separate your children from you. Then bring in thier fast talking young sales force.
No one told us about the 3 day cancellation notice. I just want out!!! We put $1,500.00 down and have paid $173.00 monthly for a little over a year.
We haven't used this thing one time. Big waste of money. One thing I want to know is how you can cancell in 3 days? (trust me they mention nothing of the 3 days either) They don't send you the stuff until weeks after you return home. I'm very upset with them MVG and it is a big rip off!!!!!!

File a complaint with the BBB. Be very detailed in your complaint. If you don't get any help from them, notify South Carolina's Attorney General and/or the Federal Trade Commission.
