Complaint

I am not sure that this is the name of the company because it is very difficult to understand the name of the company. This company has called me 2 times and left 15 minutes of messages on my answering machine. He repeats his name (which I cannot understand) and his phone number over and over again for 15 minutes.........I called them back the first time approximately a month ago and told him do not call again, and today I received the same 15 minute message. He is not calling for me, but and I am not going to put up with the harassment. The phone number that he give to call back is 1-800 -335-0872. I DO NOT WANT ANYMORE COLLECTION CALLS. I HAVE GOOD CREDIT AND I DO NOT CARE WHO HE IS CALLING FOR HE HAS NO RIGHT TO CONTINUE TO CALL AND HARASS ME! Please let me know what else I can do to get him to stop!

    Harassed with No Debt
I have been getting harassing phone calls from MRS for quite some time.  They INSIST that my cell phone number is that of someone who had debt, but it is not a person I have ever known.  I have had  the same cell phone number for almost a decade, so it must have been given out falsely or incorrectly.  In any event, you would think that the MRS people would give up having heard about 1000 times that I do not know the person they are looking for.  The irony of it all is that - I have EXCELLENT credit, no debt AT ALL except mortgage, and that is nearly paid off early.

I tried calling Saul Freedman - no answer.
I tried calling Jeff Freedman - no answer.
They are now co-CEO - yes, if you can believe that.   But if you ask an employee to give you the name of the CEO and the direct line, the employee is likely to respond that they do not have the name of the CEO.  That is what I got from a manager/supervisor Aaron Schumacher, and his underling, Lindsay. Nincompoops!

    They are a disgrace!

I encourage everyone who has been a victim of this harassment to report it to the Better Business Bureau and the FCC.  I hope they get fined and penalized out the ying-yang!

i agree w you. everyone complains about the calls. and etc etc. but dont think that the reason we are calling is because or their own actions and irresponsibilities. if its a wrong numb.LET US KNOW. if its you VERIFY YOUR INFO so we can tell you why we are calling instead of argueing with your dumbasses.. BE RECEPTICLE TO INFOMATION AND ACTUALLY PAY YOUR BILLS. WE HAVE PLENTY OF OPTIONS AND WE ACTUALLY TRY TO HELP YOU GUYS IF YOU WOULD STFU AND ACTUALLY WNT TO RESOLVE THE DBT U MADE INSTEAD OF BEING DEAD BEATS. IN THAT CASE WE WILL CALL U UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE ON UR FILE. AND THAT IS NOT!!! AGAINST THE LAW. AND NOT HARRASSMENT AS YOU ALL MAY THINK IN UR LITTLE BRAINS

The main complaints against this company are that they call the wrong people at levels of calls that are abusive and harassing, that they keep doing so when requested to stop, and that they attempt to collect from people who do not owe the alleged "debt".

This pattern of complaints, which is common among a number of debt collectors, suggests problems with compliance and training, and management that tolerates abusive and deceptive employees, leading to violations of law, specifically FDCPA, FCRA, and TCPA.

It is also a pattern of behavior that leads to defrauding of consumers.

This behavior has nothing to do with "getting your debt resolved faster".
Your employees are engaged in abusive collection and deception, and "conning" people into paying unowed "debt".

If you don't owe them for some collection account, then they don't have any permissible purpose to pull your credit reports.

If you find they are pawing through your credit files, send them a letter demanding the reason for their inquiries.

If they claim to have an account of yours, demand they send proof.

If they ignore you, file complaints with FTC and your state Attorney General,  or find an attorney and sue them for violations of FDCPA.

ummm if your husbands an attorney he knows your divorce decree means nothing if your name is on the original contract for the debt... your divorce decree will need to be enforced by YOU AFTER the original debt is satisfied because the creditor in question did not agree to remove you from the line of credit

    1) pay your debt if you owe it. you probably signed a LEGAL & BINDING CONTRACT

    2) if it is NOT you, just say you do NOT know the person and to remove the number from the system. And remember it can take about 24 hrs to update files in the system.

    3) If it is you, simply verify where you live, that is good enough. By NOT verifying, you give the co. the right to contact you again and again.

    4) Chances are IT IS YOU. Collectors have a very good skip-trace and can find your old #s ( which is where the wrong #S come in at), your old addresses (again which is where old p#s come in at), and your POE.

I disagree collection agencies are only good at finding someone after calling and harassing links of people connected and getting wrong numbers ..wrong people harassing and after 1999 misses they finally land on the number ..I have been harassed by numerous bill collectors after i got my cell phone years back ..the number obviously belonged to a person that may or may not have owed debt . BUT make no mistake most of these collection agencies are hacks calling all sorts of numbers trying to track down someone that owes money to someone else .

None of your suggestions address these problems.  You assume this debt collector complies with federal and state laws, despite complaints to the contrary.

Some collectors are very good at using information from credit reports and skip-trace information to threaten and BS people who owe them nothing.  Some of you are no better than con artists.  The rest of you tolerate this illegal criminal behavior by your peers.  If it bothers you that your industry has the worst reputation of any, worse even than used car dealers, you have no one but yourself to blame.

Sure you can.  There are a number of debt collectors hiring felons on parole.

Complaints against your company indicate your coworkers ignore requests to cease calling when they call someone in error.

Quit expecting others to fix your problems.  Only way they can fix you is to sue you.

Not only do you have many complaints of failing to cease calling wrong numbers, but earlier in this thread was a complaint of repeated prank obscene calls to a business.

Drug tested and background checked?  You're hiring perverts and giving them access to autodialers.

Calling a consumer's place of employment when a debt collector has reason to know the calls are not allowed is a violation of FDCPA.

It makes no difference whether the debt is owed or valid.
