I am not sure that this is the name of the company because it is very difficult to understand the name of the company. This company has called me 2 times and left 15 minutes of messages on my answering machine. He repeats his name (which I cannot understand) and his phone number over and over again for 15 minutes.........I called them back the first time approximately a month ago and told him do not call again, and today I received the same 15 minute message. He is not calling for me, but and I am not going to put up with the harassment. The phone number that he give to call back is 1-800 -335-0872. I DO NOT WANT ANYMORE COLLECTION CALLS. I HAVE GOOD CREDIT AND I DO NOT CARE WHO HE IS CALLING FOR HE HAS NO RIGHT TO CONTINUE TO CALL AND HARASS ME! Please let me know what else I can do to get him to stop!

this is MRS Associates, a collection agency who calls me up to 27 times a day.  The caller ID sometimes shows the number 888-274-9834 as well as 888-274-9847.  They also use caller ID spoofing and will call me using numbers that have the local area code of my mailing address or the area code of my cell phone so that I will answer. I have called these numbers back and been connected to MRS Associates. They have recently also been blocking their caller ID and calling me as late as 11 pm, sometimes twice in the span of less than a minute, hanging up after the first ring.  They called me a total of 25 times on the fourth of July blocking their caller ID. I know it is them because they are the only ones I owe money to and it is their exact pattern of calling back within a minute or less of their last call and doing this repeatedly.  They will not accept any reasonable payment plan so I am saving up my money to pay the entire balance in full so I can get them off my back. I have since restricted the incoming calls on my phone so i don't have to hear it ring every 30 seconds just to be hung up on.  This has to be some kind of harassment.

very interesting, first of all the automated dialer systems would not allow 27 phone calls to same number in one day so thats a lie, and how did they blow you up on a day they were closed? nobody likes a liar

How would you know?  They are called autodialers for a reason.  They are programed to call whenever the operator tells them to.  MRS runs a shake down operation.  And they do not need to be there when the auto dialer performs as it is programmed.

Guess it must be magic then because I got called 30 in a day and once at 2:00 a.m. in them orning.  You losers are obviously debt collectors who are bashing people on this forum that are complaining to try to make your sleezy collection profession sound honorable.  Get a job where you don't harrass people.  Wait until something happens one day to you and you owe money, work 3 jobs, and have collectors hounding you day and night! Jerks!

Hello!  Debt Collectors have several different phone numbers.  They probably got paid time and a half for working over time on the Fourth of July.  You can block there phone number but collection has several and I mean several different phone numbers.  They call and call it rings probably 3 to 4 times, then you answer and Nada!  First of all, no calls after 9:00 PM. Against the law!   No leaving messages on answer machine's and last but not least, answer the phone, remain calm,  get there name, companys name, there ID number and what time they called and how many times.   27 times is harassment, leaving a 15 minute message on your answer machine is a no no!  Get an attorney and talk to them about the harassment calls 27 times a day and leaving messages on your machine.  First time for legal advice is free.  You may have a law suit filed against them for harassment.  Attorneys know best with this type of illegal action.  I do believe that you where called that many times.  So, to others who talk the talk, if they can speak English go for it, stop the harassment.  Good luck to you. 😁

One way to deal with the problem might be to contact the CEO of MRS Assocates directly:

It is illegal to use a telephone for purposes of harassment, under both FCC regulations, and FDCPA's prohibitions against abuse and harassment in debt collection.  It is also illegal to use deception to collect a debt (spoofing of caller id).

Contact an attorney in your state with experience in FDCPA ligitation.  FDCPA allows for payment of actual damages, statutory damages, and attorneys fees if you win, so there are attorneys who will take such cases on contingency.

I have recently been recieving calls from MRS. November of last year I had a car repossessed, The car was auctioned off and I am supposed to pay the diffrence of $7600. In December last year I lost my job. Jan I had called Honda Financial to put a freeze on my account until I get back to work and able to pay. Its since been 10 months and Im guessing Honday charged off the debt and sold it to MRS. So anyway MRS called me the other day informing me that if my account wasnt settled or a payment arrangment was made that they will persue court action. MRS gave me 3 options in which none of them I can afford at this time. I am able to continue making my original car payment which was about 400/month. Is this just a threat? should I call their bluff and proceed to send them payment? any insight?

The Debt Collector does not care at all, about your personal life.  They want there commission per day, per hour everyday.  They will send a nice letter saying, we understand your financial situation but actually all they understand is the dollar bill signs in there eyes "I Do Not Give A Darn".  Calling the CEO or who ever, please do not waste your time with them.  Never tell them your SSN and where you work.  Because if this doesn't get settled your way and a budget plan with them, what you can actually survive on per month.  Then they could garnish your wages.  If you get sued, make sure that your SOL is over 6 years.  If not, then get all paper work around and don't give up.
Get all statements required by them, contract and when it expired, when the account was closed, also very important.

I have you all beat...MRS and US Fidellis have been harrassing me for a year and it is not my bill...The person that incured the bill rented a room from me and used the house phone number to conduct her business...I try to be polite and get the operators to remove my number and give them the partie's current number and address but their attitude is so what,  we will keep harrassing you,  we do not care that the peson was a renter and has not lived there for a year....and the keep calling every Sat. morning at 8:00 am....Seems this sort of practice should be illegal.

It is illegal tp continue to call once you have informed the collector that the number they are calling in not a good number for the debtor...however if you told them that you know the debtor they can call to try to get a message to the debtor once. and only once.  The best way to stop the calls is to talk to a collections manager and get their fax number and fax them a cease and desist notice.  Tell them you want to put them "ON NOTICE" not to call your number again, that you want to be contacted "BY MAIL ONLY" and that WILL stop the calls whether it is your debt or not. However you must remember that if you do put the agency ON NOTICE and they cannot contact you, they may proceed with legal action, even if the debt is small.  The legal action is determined by the owner of the debt or the original creditor, not the amount of the debt.  I am a process server in Kentucky and have seen lawsuits filed for $100 debt pluse attorney and court fees.  So be careful what you say to a debt collector, you don't want it biting you in the butt.   FYI, I was a bill collector for 9 years and made really good money, and I was not a nasty bas&$#rd as someone so politely put it.  There are some collectors that actually want to help fins a solution to you problem, believe it or not some agencies have a zero tolerance for complaints.  Remember if you complain, it needs to be to a collections manager or the director of operations.  Also, they cannot threaten legal action if they don't intend to follow through with it, no idol threats, per thr PDCPA (public law 109-351 sections 801-819).  They may tell you they will take "further collection activity), this could be a simple as passing your account to another account manager. Remember most all of us have been behind at one point or time, and it is a privilidge to be able to call you at your home.  AS for the calls at work you can put them ON NOTICE too.  The FDCPA does allow them to call you at work as long as it is not prohibited by your employer.....I hope this helps

That is not always correct.  Bad times came our way but we did not give up.  We did what was the most important first and then other debt was on the back burner.  That was in 2010, now 2015 it caught up with us.  We did not receive any phone calls or letters.  Yep, we were sued and I am not happy at all about that.  We paid them off in less then 3 weeks.  2015 and our age it was forgotten.  We paid it and now hopefully that is that.  I have learned a lot by mistakes, will never be in that situation ever again.  It is a good feeling.  Debt collectors are very rude.  I spoke to one debt collector and he did help me just a little, not much but at least he tried.
