Our company is call Global Reach Institute, and we have received numerous complaints of people receiving calls with Global Reach Int on their caller ID>  It is not us, we NEVER make unsolicited calls, and don't utilize telemarketing in our organization.  The phone number that is making these calls is not associated with us in any way. Our organization is headquartered in Spokane, Washington, not Los Angeles.    Please understand we have done everything we can think of to make them stop using this caller ID and making unsolicited calls, however have been told by the phone company, etc, that there is nothing they can do.  We are mortified that our good name is being smeared by whomever is making these calls, but please understand that it is NOT Global Reach Institute, just as your identity can be stolen, so can your company ID apparently.  We are a humanitarian/educational travel organization that develops educational/humanitarian international programs to help make the world a better place for everybody.  The calls you are receiving are not from Global Reach Institute (for International Education).

What do these people get out of calling? I have received at least four calls a day for the last several weeks. I have never answered a call from them, no not quite true, I did answer once and got a dial tone! WHAT IS THE POINT?

Recieved call from them just a second ago. Actually go to speak with a real person. They were claiming to be with a government grant service. I carefully and firmly explained to the guy (forigen descent) that we are aware of their un-business like practices and they are to STOP calling immediately. I informed the guy that what he was doing was against the law and any further phone calls from 213-452-6539 or any of the other numbers they are associated with will result in swift legal litigation. I asked to speak with Mr. Jay. They guy said that he wasn't there and that he works on the second shift. I further added at the end of my conversation this: I demanded a verbal guarantee that the calls will stop, which the represenatvie agree to. Then I followed that up with I hope the FCC shuts them down soon. GOODBYE.

Anyone else got to speak with a represenative? What were they selling?

Just in the past 36 hours the number 213-452-6539 has called my house 24 times according to my caller id. I answered this morning thinking it must be something important or they wouldn't be so persistant. After asking for someone who wasn't here they hung up on me when I offered to take a message. That's when I decided to see who they were by looking them up on the internet. This is what I found. Any advice--let us all know.

I knew this was telemarketing scam and so I labeled the call so when they called again I would know it was them.  When they called again I "yanked" them around to waste their time.  They want find people interested in collecting government loans and they are soliciting the small postage fee as part of the scam.  Next time they call, play the game and waste as much of their time as possible.  Their call-outs cost money as they use a call center in India.  So agree to everything and be pleasant.  Then when they ask for money just say you will pay nothing....believe they will hang up and never call again because it is too expensive.

I TOLD THEM THAT CAN I WRITE THEM A CHECK AND THEY SAID THEY ONLY ACCEPT CREDIT CARD NUMBERS ONLY..I KIND OF SUSPECTED, ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE SO I TOLD THEM TO CALL BACK TODAY (09/11/2008) THEN I NEVER PICK UP THEIR CALLS AGAIN. Mad as heck
I got two calls from them today. The number on caller ID was 213-426-2708. The said they were calling about some diet tea. I had been on the Wu Yi website a few weeks ago and left my info to get a free 2 week trial. This guy is now hijacking their website and somehow getting their info and got my number saying they are going to ship my "free' tea and are just calling to confirm my address, phone number, etc. Then the go on to say they will send me free recipes and diet tips with my order, and last but not least they ask what card i want to use for the shipping and handling. I gave them my visa card with the 3 digt code on the back of the card. meanwhile, my husband saw the number on caller id and googled the name of the company and saw it was a scam. When the woman called back 15 minutes later with my confirmation number i told her I was on to her scam and have notified the FBI and she was speechless.

    Mad as heck
At first they asked if I wanted to use my debit card. Thank God I didn't because they would have surely wiped my account out. It's bad enough that I fell for the scam, thinking it was Wu Yi diet tea, which i had found on the net a couple of weeks ago. The tea was raved about on the Oprah show, so these scammers are up on the latest fads and zero in on unsuspecting people. They somehow must have spyware on the real Wu Yi website in order to get all my info. because when the chinese woman on the phone told me their number to call if i wasn't completely satisfied with my tea, it was the real number on the website, but when i tried to call back the 213-426-2708 number they called me from, I got a recording saying the number was no longer in service. I called Wu Yi tea and they said my name and info didn't even show up on their records. I asked if there was a C.J.Anderson (the scammer that called me) and they said no such person worked there. Just watch out people, there are some real scumbags out there that have no conscience and think nothing of taking your money.

    first call from globalreach int @ 213 452 6539: approx 1 hour ago (5:30pm pacific time), i didn't answer.

second call from globalreach int @ 213 452 6539: approx 5:45pm p.s.t., i answered. i hear a call center buzzing in the background, and a woman with a thick "international sort" of accent (which for the record, i don't have a problem with) asks me if i made an inquiry online for free government grant money. i tell her, no i don't recall making any inquiry as such. she interrupts me and says "don't you remember? isn't your email address "____" and i say DO NOT interrupt me, and no, that email belongs to someone else and they are absolutely not authorized to sign me up for anything online without my permission, i am not interested, and i hang up. (the email she read me belongs to my mother, whom i called 30 seconds after hanging up with this solicitor to verify if she had indeed signed me up for free government money online, which she *had*)

third call from globalreach int @ 213 452 6539: approx 6:10pm p.s.t., i answer and now a man named "ralph miguel" calling on behalf of Grant Resource Center calls to make the same government grant information packet offer, if only i will pay the $2.99 s&h fee for the packet. i ask him who global reach international is, and he tells me it is the phone provider company. i say ok, is this call being recorded? he says, yes ma'am. i say: do you have any more of my personal information in your database? at which he proceeds to read my complete street address to me. (yeah, i'm kinda way pissed at this point). so i tell him i want him to completely erase all of my personal information from every database he is authorized to access, and any other company that may have access to *their* database better damn well delete every bit of information they have on file for me as well. i told him although i thought i made myself clear by being verbally forceful on the previous call they placed to me, i now reiterate, remove me from your calling list, and any database you have me in, immediately. thank you very much mr. miguel.

so, who knows if i was being recorded or not, and who knows if that [***] deleted my information. they have my phone number. they have my address. they probably have yours too. if you ever enter anything personal on the internet, who knows who will get it, and who knows what they'll do with it. THE INTERNET IS NOT SAFE. EVEN THE PEOPLE YOU TRUST THE MOST CAN  UNKNOWINGLY SELL YOU OUT. and there is not a damn thing we can do about it. ain't technology grand?? ((sorry this was so long guys!))

i think it's hilarious you asked for jay sherbondy. buncha frauds, they probably have a list of "what to say when you're asked this touchy question" and they probably have a week of training just to learn how to fend off demandingly inquisitive callers. good try though.

I like telling these type of people that they've called a payphone in a prison or police station.  (note, I never pretend to be a cop) Just let them think that its a payphone in a place that they wont get any good leads from.
I really like to tell them that I'm in prison because if they keep on the line I start asking them offensive questions because I've been locked up so long that I need the 'thrill'.
The more you annoy these people and waste their time the less they call.  Stop being a victim and push back.

    hypersensitive
I am getting calls from this # as well.  I am hypersensitive now because I was scammed re an AOL email and I wondered if this is at all related so I looked them up on the internet because they call so frequently.  I had to change all my accounts and set out credit alerts.  Be wary of this type of thing because I am told they try to do a small donation like 1$ and if it goes through, then they do more.

Help!! How do I stop these calls, #213-426-2708, they have been non-stop since 7AM today. I can't understand the person on the other end nor make him understand that I want these calls to end.
I have now turned my phone off. I have children and grandchildren whom I hate to be out of contact with but have no other method to get these people to stop harassing me.

These people have been calling me a minimum of 4 times a day for several weeks. After looking them up on the internet and seeing what others are saying, there has to be something that can be done.  The number calling me says Global Reach Int 213-426-2708.  Like others, if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer it.
