Today I received a text msg asking me if I would like a $200 Gas Voucher. It provided a toll free number to call for details: 877-764-7978. I have received 6 different text messages this year, with similar promises. I called the number, the person on the other end with a foreign accent, claimed to work for "Central Rewards" and proceeds to tell me for a one-time fee of $2.95 I would get a $200 gas voucher, good anywhere. Sarcastically, I said that it sounds too good to be true! I asked him how I pay the $2.95 fee to get my voucher... Of course, he was willing to accept any major credit card. Unfortunately, when I reply STOP to opt out of these things, it does no good. Each time, the text msg with an amazing offer comes from a different number. All of them lead back to "Central Rewards"

Got a text with phone number for free gas card voucher for $200.  I called it to see how real it might be...like all the others above, he wanted a charge card number.  He explained he was from Central Rewards and there were three branches in MIchigan and they were a reputable company been in business for 20 some years.  I'm glad I googled them before I bit.  It did sound too good to be true...$2.95 for a $200 gas card voucher AND he said it could be spend at local retail stores as well.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!!  They had my children convinced so I decided to call them on speakerphone in order to teach them about scam artist and believe me they learned that momma's no fool.  Central Rewards is the name they gave me but they couldn' seem to tell me anything else, no company, product or service information, nothing they became extremely annoyed with me and kept hanging up on me so I kept calling.  If I didn't have a life nd responsibilities I would have been calling them repeatedly all night because it was rather amusing to hear the anger and frustration I was causing the two of them 1 man and 1 woman.  Oh well I'll call again when I get bored just for entertainment, lol.  Don't fall for the scam and warn your friends and family.

Oh btw the guy at Central Rewards told me, which is probaly a lie, that his name is Jim Dawson but here's the number in case anyone reading this wants a little amusement since they are easily annoyed and don't like answering questions ; 1-877-789-5256  ;) Have a little fun.

The Federal Trade Commission is really not the first resort when it comes to scams.   The Indiana Attorney General, Consumer Affairs Division has jurisdiction to enforce violations of Indiana's Deceptive Business Practices Act.   There is also the better Business Bureau. You can also leek legal redress for compensatory and exemplary damages by maintaining a civil lawsuit under te above-mentioned act, or by alleging  Breach of Contract and Fraud.

Yeah. I received a text from 229-296-3156 which informed me that I was selected to receive a $200 Gas Voucher and to call 877-789-5256 to claim it. I called just for kicks and got the same pitch as everyone else did on this thread. I also spoke with man with a very heavy Indian accent. I was tempted to see if he could throw in some Tandoori Chicken and a side of Naan. In any case, he also offered me an additional $600 Food Voucher for another $3.95 for shipping and handling. He said the voucher was "very good" and I could use it at any "food station" I would like. Of course, he needed my credit card number first and that's where I had to cut off our conversation. He

Needless to say, it's a SCAM.

I would like to thank  all of you. I just got a call from a man with an India accent too. He said his name was Jack Clay. He made the offer even better. A 500 dollar gift card to wal-mart or a store of my choice for 4.99. I told him that I would have to do research first and I would call them back, but he would never give me a number. They almost got me,but thanks to you all they wont.

TOTAL SCAM.  I tried to cancel and they kept arguing with me to make me sign up.  After three different people, and only after I threatened to call my State's Attorney General's Office, they finally agreed to cancel the order.

I guess they are still at it.  I just got one on my text message and called the number back and it was a foreign lady who said everything so fast I had to ask her to repeat several times.  I said it is a $200 voucher for gas right?  she said  yes and $35  for something else.  I asked her who was promoting this voucher.  With gas prices so high everyone is going to be interested. They are vulchers.  She wanted my address and I said no I am not doing this I have already got scammed enough and I am not doing it again.  I hung up as she said no more.

This is such a SCAM! OMG, these people has to be crazy! Oh, they just think I am. Why in the world would I pay you money to send me some money(Gas Card, Gift Card)! That makes no sense. I googled this company while he was on the phone! I read all of your post! I keep him on the phone for 30 minutes. He thought I was trying to find my Credit Card! then I said I will have to send you a money order! LMBO! He quickly said no we have to have a Credit Card! I told him he was desperate and stupid for holding on the phone this long. Because there was no way I would give him any information! LOL! I said for someone who's trying to SCAM me, you are not that smart and hung up! Thanks for the post!!!!!!
