We purchased a Spring Air Mattress June 13, 2005 from Cajun Brothers in Conway, AR. One of the main reasons we purchased this mattress was the warranty. We noticed that the mattress was sagging (on both sides) where we sleep. Cajun Brothers came to our house, (February 2007), took pictures, measured the sag and sent them to Spring Air.

Spring Air replied that our mattress was not that bad. We needed to rotate the mattress. Not that bad? Is a Spring Air mattress supposes to be comfortable and not sag for 2 years only? That is almost $500.00 a year for a bed. I really do not think this is acceptable. We are very unhappy with this mattress. We are supposed to have a 100% warranty not to be prorated in any way.We have a king size Vienna pillow top.

I sleep on the right side in the summer and my husband on the left. In the winter, we switch. In my opinion, we are rotating the mattress. We are unhappy about the way we have been treated. If a mattress is sagging, IT IS SAGGING. It does not make any difference how much. If something is broken, it is broken. We do not want another Spring Air mattress; another one would probably do the same thing as this one has. We are truthfully tired of the hassle. We have lived with this for a year now its time something was done. We expect a refund from Spring Air.

I bought a queen size Spring Air mattress (Chester Pillow Top) from a local bed store in MA back in 2004 and it's been sagging/concave in the middle as that's where I sleep most of the time.

I called my local Spring Air office @ 617-884-2300 and the women told me due to Spring Air filing for bankrupt in 2009, it no longer can accept/honor their 10 year warranty on my bed.

    WTF!!!!

After reading these comments, all I can say is 'same here'...what a mess! I have an OLD spring air full size that is in better shape than the queen I bought 4 yrs ago--the problems started almost right away, but I'd bought it at Filene's and they closed...very frustrating, and not surprised to see that one of the comments says Spring Air has filed for bankruptcy...there should be a class action lawsuit.

I just bought two spring air mattress two weeks ago.  The sides are sagging.  I bought them from Hillards in Canton, Texas.  I was told that  they couldn't  do anything about them.  They were considered a starter mattress. I've never heard of this term before.  Found out that was a mattress that was for couples just getting started, guest rooms and children.  I wouldn't let my dog sleep on one much less my children.  I was never told this in the beginning.  Also was told that the company went out of business.  The owner of Hillards told me he would get in touch with the company and get back to me the next day, still no word.  Getting the run around

We purchased our Spring Air "Vienna" on 12/26/08. We too loved it at first but within a couple of months I started experiencing neck pain. I complained that it was the mattress. My husband realized not long ago that I was right. Now we seem to roll to the middle. Both of us toss and turn all night long having to change positions. I wake with numb hands and aches and pains everywhere. I just called the company we purchased it from and they are sending someone out to look at it. Regardless of what they do we are now searching for a new mattress. We paid 1700.00 for our Queen. We are very disappointed and wish that we too had found this site before purchasing. We have been married for 31 years and have gone through a couple of mattresses. We really thought this one would last more than a year and a half. Our salesman assured us we were buying a quality product. Not from what I have been reading here. Wish us luck!

Any advice for us. We just called RC Willey today about our mattress we bought in Dec. 2008. Should we make sure he lays on the bed? Ha Ha! Maybe even sleep over on it a couple of nights. Bet that would do it. The RC Willey Salesman assured us we were buying one of the best and wouldn't regret it. Ha!

Ditto on everyone's back complaints. I called the Warranty number and they sent out an inspector who measured the deep hole that my back was sleeping in night after night. The measurements was 3 1/2 inches of a sink hole (Thats without a body in it - imagine how deep it sinks in while we are lying in it!!). He said nothing else, took a picture of a small tea stain (which, ironically, got there in the first place because of the bed sinking in!!) JCPenney called a few days later and said they could not honor the warranty because of the 'stain'. She didn't even mention the fact that it was indeed sagging DOUBLE the standard amount.  She focused on the stain only (which if I knew about in advance, could have easily removed). I was told that SPRING AIR went out of business. Geez thats a surprise. Bottomline, JCPenney does not want to take responsibility for the health and care of their customers.  NO ONE SHOULD SHOP AT THEIR STORE ANYMORE and PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS LIKE MANY OTHER RETAILERS!!

We purchased a standard Springair extra back support mattress set from Hanks Furniture Harrison Arkansas, for my father in law who is 92, and a retired military. deserves better from in the Springair. His mattress is sagging in the middle and is broken down on both sides. I took pictures into the store and was told at first the store would stand behind the mattress and then the big shot manager denied the claim.  There should be a way for us to take the store that sold us the mattress to small claims court. Some one is responsible, If not the mattress company then the store that sold the mattress. We purchased from the store in good faith. They made a profit, they should lose not us.

Just for every ones information the same man Ed Bates that owned springair before it went bankrupt, just got new International entity to launch the new Springair venture. That was in June 2009. He just went bankrupt to void all his old mattress claims and start over. Check information on the internet.
When you read further you find his new chief marketing officer was with Consolidated Bedding  a subsidiaries of Springair. Rick Robinson. You don't have to look to far to see how this has gone. He might as well have ask for a bailout. He just started over.

We've had a piece of junk Chattam and wells for 10 yrs. that started sagging on the sides 5yrs ago.  There's a big hump in the center, so I always roll back into my hole!  I'm ready to buy a cheap mattress and throw this piece of junk away.  I read on line that Spring Air is the owner of chattam and wells and nowhere could I find warranty info.  Also bought it at sit and sleep in Orange, Ca.  Never Again will we buy from these companies!

I gave approximately $3800 for 3 Spring Air mattresses. The king size for my bed was their top of the line. The other two are queen size for the teenagers and are also the best they sold. Bought them at our furniture store here that sells only the best quality name brands. After 4 months I had the furniture store owner to come out and view the horrible pit on my husbands side and the one that was starting to sink on my side..He just said we needed more action in the middle. I dont find this funny. Now after all this time, the bed has gotten so bad that it is unbearable to sleep on almost. My back is killing me so bad that I on medicine for it. I bought these because of the store owners recommendation and the lifetime warranty. NOW THIS CRAP.. the old company is no longer there. I have already gone thru this with Maytag where I bought a $1300 dryer that needed a heating element after 4 yrs and Maytag sold to Whirlpool and they never made replacement parts for that unit. And to beat all they are still selling those in some stores. I had to haul it to the dump after trying every option possible..trust me we spent another $400 just trying to fix the darn thing.
So here I am again,,,so whats gonna happen next? I have all Flexsteel furniture in my home.. I wonder if that company is still the same.. seems that it may just be better to buy less expensive and replace more often. I am so fed up.. It took me til I was 40 years old before I could buy any new furniture and bedding. Before it was always used or hand me downs. Wow, so much for saving all those years for the nicer things.
Well at least I have vented .. thanks for listening..

We've had our spring air queen mattress for three years now and hate it. Only for the first few months did we have good sleep, after the 90 day trial period from the store it was all over. We bought from Penney's and they are not standing behind it, but when it was sold to us it was their "best brand". I called the company about it a year or so ago and was told the divot had to be 1 1/2 inches deep. She told me to measure right after we got out of bed. Heck, our dogs even leave deep divots. I will try again to contact the company and get some satisfaction.

    Dear DUH...

I can't believe how rude you are for calling someone a moron.  If you got out from behind your computer would you dare insult another person face to face by calling them a moron over a misspelled word??? Does that empower you

Civility works...give it a try sometime.

I just got off of the phone with the new company and within the next week or two I will get a chance to purchase a new bed at cost from them.  My mattress was bought just about a year and a half ago.  Four seasons which was over $2000 and started having problems with it about 6 months in.  You can sleep alone fine, but once my husband gets in we sink to the middle.

SPRING AIR MATTRESS IS OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

The warranty guy just left my house after examining my Spring Air Pillow Top mattress.  We too have a gigantic hump in the middle of the bed.  I actually fell out of the bed while sleeping!  I should get the "verdit" in about a week....but a coffee stain on the mattress will most likely void my warranty!
(I like my coffee in bed on Saturdays!)  It was very interesting to watch the "warranty exam".  I told the guy that the "hump" appears when there's a person on either side of the bed.  He is not permitted to take pics of people in the bed....so what's the point???  He took many pictures, more of the coffee stain than anything else, and it was something like a CSI crime lab investigation.  If we are turned down I plan on making a big commotion at the JC Penny store!!!

My husband and I bought our spring air 'heavenly box' bed in Aug 2005- was told the warranty was excellent.  We DID buy a great bed frame with excellent support at the same time.  We followed all the warranty instructions- no stains, rotated ect... now we have two huge sagging areas where we sleep and a nice fluffy area in the middle.  The store we bought it from is now out of business- of course and I did call the number above and spoke with a nice woman who said that the warranty is no longer valid since the company went out of business/bankrupcy.  However she did say they are putting together an upgrade program which will offer the former spring air bed owners a large discount so that they can purchase another bed.  She said she would call me as soon as the program is introduced in next week or so.  I am not sure if they have a bed I would want but it is a nice thought.  I mistakenly called Simmons warranty thinking this bed was a Simmons bed (as my sales person told me) and they were very helpful so I am wondering if I should buy a Simmons bed!!  From now on- I will read comments on the internet before purchasing anything!

We are having the same problem Kate, bought ours at JCPenney also and we have a very superficial stain which they are trying to use to void the warranty. I am upset and disgusted and if we don't get this problem resolved they can forget my business and I think we will dump the mattress at the door of their store at the mall.  I kept telling the inspector that we needed to lie down on the bad so he could see what how it looked,  but like your inspector he wasn't interested.
