WE BOUGHT A MAYTAG TOP LOAD CENTENNIAL WASHER JULY OF 2011.   WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE COMING IN THE DOOR.  IT WAS PURCHASED AT HARRINGTON APPLIANCE IN HARRINGTON DELAWARE .   THE FIRST THING WE NOTICED IS THAT THE CLOTHES WERE NOT GETTING CLEAN AND A CYCLE TAKES AN ABSURDLY LONG TIME.   IF YOU HAVE A SOUNDPROOF LAUNDRY ROOM, YOU MIGHT BE OK.  IT IS VERY NOISY AND TODAY WE HAD TO REBALANCE ONE LOAD ELEVEN TIMES.  RIDICULOUS.  WE HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE LOCAL PEOPLE IT WAS PURCHASED FROM AND THE MAYTAG COMPANY AND HAD A REPAIRMAN LOOK AT IT, TO NO AVAIL.  LONG STORY SHORT, IT IS A CRUMMY PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE PAID.   I GUESS WE PAID BY THE DECIBEL, BECAUSE WE GOT PLENTY OF BANG FOR OUR BUCK.

I would never buy another Maytag product and Whirlpool since they made this piece of junk. I would'nt mind if they made them so they last half as long as the old ones but just a few months of operation if your lucky is thier new norm.

I have the Maytag Centinnel and mine is leaving the load soaked. It will not spin and I've had it over a year. I don't know what to do. It does take forever to wash clothing! I hate it!

I am in the same boat as all other posters ahead of me. My Centennial washer is less than 3 years old, has the same out of balance wonky problems as all the rest of you and now I'm shopping for a new machine since the repair is more than just getting a new one and I'm nearly out of clean underwear. The repair guy checked with 3 different techs but couldn't get a quick fix and recommends going with a basic Whirlpool machine with minimal bells and whistles. I hope Maytag recognizes just how many customers they are losing over this. The worst part is this machine is still in the stores for unsuspecting customers who are excited to get a Maytag machine.

Statistically, each of us will tell at least 10 people how bad Maytag is--I plan to tell anyone who will listen!!

Maytag.com has a chat however not about anything technical. They tried to sell me an extended warranty that would fix the machine for what I paid for it. I have a Maytag Centinnel and it's only two years old. I wash my clothes along with my daughters and bedding. It doesn't spin and leaves the clothes soaked. My other washer lasted ten years. I can't afford a new one at this time or repairs. It's a bad purchase and I will need make the same mistake with Maytag!

I googled possible issues with the maytag centennial, since we've only had it a year and it's not cleaning our clothes, and I see we made the wrong choice purchasing this machine. :-(  I have to rewash items by hand sometimes, and it doesn't blend additives like oxy clean or fabric softener.  Very disappointing.  Our old washer was 20+ years old, and I miss it.

Bought the Centennial Washer in Jan 23rd, pick it up 2 weeks later, first used it  in mid February. We purchased it because the salesman said it would take a bigger load since  it does not have the "thing" in the middle....but guess what! You can only put very few items (loading 1/2 only) and machne was okay. When I put a slightly bigger load, it loaded water, wash cycle lit up and I thought it was going thru the cycle. Left and came back 45 minutes later, "wash" lite was on..don't know if it went thru the cycle so I change the setting to rinse and spin to make sure then spin and dry. I have to do it all manually! I loaded it properly and make sure the middle is exposed! What happened to the auto. cycle! So i gave it a benefit of the doubt, did another wash another day and when same thing happened, I opened the lid and found out that the clothes are not even wet!!! I thought I should be able to conserve! This is not the case! What a dumb machine! I have my old "Kirkland" washer from Costco, no problem after 10 years! I am waiting for a repair tech now and hopefully will show up after 5-6 hours!!! What a joke!
I am planning on returning this machine because of false information!

Bought this at D & D Detroit Lakes
This washer is junk!  I just threw $509.00 out the window, before tax.  The salesman at D&D is a complete joke too. He knows everything about everything, not, hes an idiot.    Ill never again buy from  D&D Appliance, Detroit Lakes.

WE'VE  HAD THIS CENTURIAN MAYTAG FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS AND I GUARANTEE I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT  AGAIN!!....................MAYTAG USED TO BE THE "CADILLAC" OF WASHERS AND DRYER'S, NOW IT ISN'T WORTHY OF BEING CONSIDERED A "YUGO"!......NOT ONLY DISAPPOINTED  WITH MAYTAG, BUT DISGUSTED WITH THEIR LACK OF QUALITY CONTROL!........

    Maytag's lost customer
I have the same washer that is described above. I bought it 3 years ago and now it doesn't go through the cycles and manually change it. One day to wash one load is crazy. I see it could be the control board but I bought it to make sure it lasts a long time. Next time, I will not buy Maytag. All these complaints Maytag needs to correct the problem, refund our money, and everyone needs to know of their poor quality.

Heads up! Class Action Lawsuit filed this year.  Apparently on top of being pieces of crap (my 3 year old machine just broke ($75 to fix) and doesn't clean clothes that great)  they are also not energy efficient.  Google it!

Sensing light here too.  Dont know if I should put the money, time and energy in fixing this or just cut my losses and go purchase a better brand.

I am the owner of a Centennial Maytag - my LAST Maytag!!   I cannot recommend this brand to anyone
else and I have friends who also have a Maytag and they too are disgusted. This machine is loud, un-balanced, takes so much time to do one load, and often times I get cold water rather than hot. I've had problems
with it from the start - the best thing it can do is sit and groan and click! I'd like to find it a new home but
    who would want it.

We also bought this Machine.  It does not clean the clothes.  I have to rewash by hand all underwear and socks, also armpits do not come out clean, the deoderant is still on the shirt!!  I have never owned a washing machine that does not WASH the clothes.  Technician came out within one month of owning and had to replace the sensor!  Give me a break.  Maytag?????  What do you have to say about all these complaints????  Do you stand behind your products or what?

We purchased a Maytag top-loading high efficiency washer in June of 2011.  It worked well enough for the first 18 months, except for the fact that it takes forever to wash a load of clothes.  Now that it is past the 12 month warranty, the spin cycle does not function correctly, and it fails to get the water out of the clothes.  It sounds like there is water in the bottom all of the time, too, even after it is done.  Now we are going to the laundromat, and we have a 2 year old useless Maytag washer sitting at home.  I tried to set up a Maytag service call on line, but there was no estimated cost, and no offer of free repair for this lemon.  I see from reading other on-line posts that this model is terrible.  Maytag, you should let us trade these things in for washers that actually work!

The Centennial. With "commercial"technology.I thought I'd be buying a traditional bullet proof toploader with the Maytag quality behind it...
and I thought it would last at least ten years...
A REAL disappointment after less than two years.Don't make the same mistake.

Purchased my Maytag Centennial washing machine 3 years ago from Lowe's in Richardson, Texas.
The control panel has to be played with to get it to work, and the clothes are never, ever rinsed enough.
The result....clothes take forever to dry. I am so disappointed. I thought that "Maytag" was a great name in the industry and now I discover that's the company has been bought out by Whirlpool.
By the way, my Maytag dishwasher needs a new control panel. Come on Whirlpool. Restore Maytag's good name.

Maytag I'm so disappointed! When I spend $750 I expect it to last more than a yr before you need to fix it
