WE BOUGHT A MAYTAG TOP LOAD CENTENNIAL WASHER JULY OF 2011.   WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE COMING IN THE DOOR.  IT WAS PURCHASED AT HARRINGTON APPLIANCE IN HARRINGTON DELAWARE .   THE FIRST THING WE NOTICED IS THAT THE CLOTHES WERE NOT GETTING CLEAN AND A CYCLE TAKES AN ABSURDLY LONG TIME.   IF YOU HAVE A SOUNDPROOF LAUNDRY ROOM, YOU MIGHT BE OK.  IT IS VERY NOISY AND TODAY WE HAD TO REBALANCE ONE LOAD ELEVEN TIMES.  RIDICULOUS.  WE HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE LOCAL PEOPLE IT WAS PURCHASED FROM AND THE MAYTAG COMPANY AND HAD A REPAIRMAN LOOK AT IT, TO NO AVAIL.  LONG STORY SHORT, IT IS A CRUMMY PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE PAID.   I GUESS WE PAID BY THE DECIBEL, BECAUSE WE GOT PLENTY OF BANG FOR OUR BUCK.

I bought a Maytag Centennial washer 5 years ago and bought the insurance also. Spin cycle went at 4 and a half years. Fortunately I had the insurance and didn’t have to pay to fix it. Well it is now 5 years and one month and the spin cycle went again and now I will have to pay a repair man to fix this piece of junk. Count me in on a class action suit.

I have to say I would never have thought  Maytag would made a piece of crap machine like the continental. Just the simple setting, agitator, and timely washing is all we want, now I'm looking for an older machine or different company,  and I'll  read up on the make to see if it's got complaints on it. Never buying a maytag product again.

My centennial top loader washer does not spin the laundry well, or clean the laundry. I have had this washer 3 yrs now but cannot afford to go buy a new one. It sucks having to rinse and spin your laundry twice to get it to be able to go in the dryer. I have cleaned the washer trying to see of my laundry would come out cleaner but nope i still get a grey dirty film on my clothes especially my whites. Ugh!!!

I have a Maytag Centennial Commercial Technology Washer and what a piece of crap. I will never purchase anything that has Maytag printed on it again and what a shame because in the past Maytag made the best appliances. When my washer goes thru the spin cycle, it sounds like an airplane passing thru my house and jumps across the garage floor from all the vibration  It's outrageous. As I was reading the long list of complaints, I agree with others who have posted similar posts  that we need a class action law suit to get the company's attention and we will realize we will never know how many consumers have bought their washers with complete dissatisfaction.

Very well said, my experience too. My Maytag Centennial is giving me the same problems. The spinner button has fallen out and nowhere to be found. My husband called to make a complaint, what a joke it felled on deaf ears. Lowe’s employee hung up on him. No more Maytag appliances for me, I will go back to the lower budget appliances.
