This company at 845-770-0061 keeps calling my cell requesting to verify my name and my address. I asked who they are and why do they want my address. They tell me they want to send a business proposal to me, yet they refuse to give me the name of their company. I looked up the reverse phone number and found the name Paetec Communication in Nyack,New York. I contacted their parent office at 845-675-4485 and STILL nothing has been resolved. I am also on the do not call list and their reply was it does NOT affect us!!! These calls are annoying and upsetting. I told them I am NOT interested and to remove my number at once. I have ALL the phone records on my cell and would appreciate a stop to this harrassment.

    I received a call from 978-513-6782 or 8267, can 't remember the last 4 digits, but have it written down somewhere. Claimed they were collecting on a bill with office depot. Mine you, the account was open in 1998, now they are calling me about it, 18 1/2 years ago. They and asked when would I be home so they could serve me the papers for judgment from office depot. Office depot stated they did not understand why the collection agency is coming after me now. The account has been sold so many times. I looked up the number guess what, no owner, but Paetec Communications out of Lowell Massachusett.

    How many people pay money to find out who this phone number belongs to? Pretty good scam. Also, how much attention does this site get? Good scam, any way you look at it.

    3 calls this morning from 773-309-4719. Reverse lookup is Paetec Communications.  No message was left on my voice mail.

    Just got a call from 230-659-6049 (Indian sounding guy), reverse lookup says Paetec Communications. Said there was an issue with my computer. Started having some fun with him and he hung up. Second call in about a week. Also got one from 302-956-9406 (interesting thing about this, the numbers are the same for the first 3, next 3 and final 4, as the Paetec Comm number, just scrambled up a bit).

    Got call for same outfit, operating with a number from Providence, RI (401)719-5039. Caller was a young woman, very poor English, with accented speech, and I heard many folks on phones in the background. I just started speaking in Dutch (my first language), and that got her frustrated enough to hang up on me. The number, along with +200 others, is now permanently blocked.

    I have received quite a few calls from the same company but under a phone number. They claim that they are offering lower health insurance rates. Even after informing them that I'm on the National Do Not Call list, they still call 8 times a day (not exaggerated). It seems as if companies like this just laugh at the laws because nothing ever seems to stop the harassment. Good luck to you all on getting your problems resolved.

    A number which is 2025364829 has called and left me a very upsetting voicemail saying that they are the IRS. It said if I don't contact them or my lawyer doesn't that they wish me luck when this all unfolds on me.

    Received call from Unknown several times before I answered it. Can't understand the caller, who is telling me I am set to receive 9000$ from a recovery act from the Obama administration. Did not request any personal information but gave me the option to receive payment via Western Express and gave me a confirmation number and a callback number of 315-333-2173 which comes back to Paetec Corp.

    I got a call from 607-304-4467 at 5:25am. No message was left at all. I called the number back and it reaches "Pioneer Credit Recovery", and the automated greeting tells you that you've reached Pioneer Credit Recovery and all calls are recorded for quality assurance. Then you hear ringing and a person will pick up the line, at which point you're asked for your full name and social security number, since they never leave you an actual account number on any voicemail. They cannot "find you" in their database without either your account number or full social.
    Haha NOT happening!!
    I've never received any written correspondence from these people.

    Yeah, 2 wks ago- 1st call was about a computer virus. Last week-2nd call was IRS case against me and today another 'last' warning call about IRS arresting me and to call back immediately. Number given is a dead number. Stupid& annoying

    Received a call from 408-843-9829 saying I had been issued a $9000.00 grant and gave me a confirmation number that I was to give to someone at another number and they would send the money via western union.
    Pretty sure its a scam so didn't call.

    Peatec and  the companies that use them are the scum of the earth. They use rotating numbers and local voip numbers to get around the credit laws.  Do not know how they source info, but it can't be legal. Called my home no message then one  minute later they called my unlisted cell number.  i have had the new number for less than the day.  so how the hell did they get it? other interesting fact is their number will not let you disconnect the phone call.  got so fed up i unplugged the phone.

    515-954-3735 is another number they use. They've called my residence numerous times. Very annoying. CID says PAETECSTARNET.

    I get calls every day from 830-319-7111 Paetec Starnet...guess have no choice but to just start blocking them with *60 on AT&T office line

    I've received several calls from 646-524-4759.  The message says I need to call immediately due to questions on my tax filings.  It threatens if I don't call, the local cops (yes, they use the word cops) will be informed and I will be taken into custody.  There are several grammatical errors and unknown phrases.  Today I answered when the number came up.  It was still the same recording, not a real person, so I called the number.  The man that answered was obviously foreign and I could not understand what he said when he answered.  I told him to take my number off immediately because these calls are crap.  He started stammering and said this was a not a crank call in case that is what I was thinking.  I told him of course they are and take my number off  their calling list.  He said he would, but didn't ask for any kind of verification.  If he had, of course I wouldn't have given him any.  He started stammering again that he would take my number off and I hung up.  From the comments I've read here, I doubt that is the last I will hear from them.  If only people would put that much effort into working an honest job!

    I get these calls all the time. Mostly in the AM. I'm fortunate that I can block the number without answering.  That's what I do. Problem solved.  No aggravation.  Done. Have a great day everyone.  Keep smiling.

    773-816-5352 is a phone number "appropriated" by a fake police charity known as "Starnet Pretec..." Ok, it's spoofed. Do Not Call and the FTC are  feckless, [***] agencies.
