They call me at all hours of the day. I am on a maternity leave and they have been calling my office every day. They accuse my coworkers in lying and covering for me because they say that I am on leave.  I tried to talk to them but they are threatening me with police and say  they will take my vehicle.

BBB rates them an "F", for reports of abuse and harassment, disclosure of information to neighbors or relatives, and failing to even respond to most complaints.

Some complainants alleged harassment of their friends and relatives, threats, profanity and other unconventional practices were used to scare debtors into paying. Others alleged incorrect statements, payments were not credited, or late charges were routinely added to billings when the previous payment was not late at all.

The company responded to some complaints by offering explanations of the billings, or by denying allegations and attempting to justify their collection efforts. In many instances, the company claims they cannot respond to the complaint without additional information provided by the consumer, such as account number or social security number. "

The number you left for Jane Holland is no longer in service! This is some crooked stuff going on with this company! They just stole $8100 dollars of my money for my payoff and are saying they never received payment even though my bank shows the money withdrawn almost a week ago.

I just looked up this company with the BBB, and they have an A+ rating. I understand being upset with a company because of the way they may have handled a situation regarding YOUR non-payment, but posting false information is by no means helpful to people that are trying to find out if/why  there may be complaints about an organization.

I'm not sure why BBB is giving them an A. That is a bunch of CRAP. I told them to come get the vehicle. They are very nasty and unprofessional. They do call before payment is due. And I was also told that my first payment was not due for 30 days. Not true 14 days after I purchased Vehicle with a large down payment, the payment was due. Heck with them. Now they want the difference. I was going to sell the car as they requested they didnt want to take the payment but still didn't get what they want. They call you talk to them they call back....DONT ANSWER

The answer to the BBB report is that Consumer Portfolio has reported positive reporting to BBB by having bogus customers report "their wonderful experience" with Consumer Portfolio Services.   The same is being done on your Credit Reports.   CPS has falsified information on your report so that they can keep negative reporting going for more than the 7 years.   Unfortunately CPS will continue to break "Fair Credit Report", "Consumer Credit" laws and collection practices.

CPS will continue with these practices far ahead in the future, because the individuals that they lend to are , struggling to make ends meet, and can not afford attorneys.   CPS and its employees will continue to harass individuals, both on the phone, on credit reports and whatever means to keep you below the acceptable credit score until they collect their over inflated debt due.  If you look on their web-site, they claim that they have a high percentage recovery rate on debt outstanding.

The other problem is that they are not reporting properly to the IRS, in that they report debt unpaid as charge off.   In other words they report on their Chart of Accounts as a write off and they do not have to pay taxes on loss income at the end of each year.   They continue to attempt to collect on write offs and false reporting on your credit report.   More than likely if you are able to hire an attorney to settle, CPS does not report this income to the IRS because they have already reported on the Chart of Doubtful Accounts as loss income.   Please note that CPS does not sell their loss loans to Credit Collection Agencies.

In conclusion, CPS will never be held accountable for their predatory lending.    They know how to play the game of this countries lending practices and they are in a sense decorated and unquestionable predatory lenders.
