They call me at all hours of the day. I am on a maternity leave and they have been calling my office every day. They accuse my coworkers in lying and covering for me because they say that I am on leave.  I tried to talk to them but they are threatening me with police and say  they will take my vehicle.

    I have also had problems with "Consumer Portfolio Services".  I was told at the beginning of the loan that I did not have a payment until 30 days later.  Not True according to Consumer Portfolio Services.

    Consumer Portfolio Services is breaking both Federal and State Laws.  I had to seek an Attorney to protect my rights.

    I suggest that anyone else that has had problems with these individuals do the same along with filling reports with the Federal and Local Consumer Protection Agency along with a report to the Attorney General.  Someone  create a website so that we can gather individuals with problems with CPS into one website and see what we can do.  it will be under yahoo and it will be name. "Citizens against CPS" under yahoo or msn.  Actually a Civil Suite needs to be filed by everyone.  I estimate that there would be over 1000 complaints from individuals that have experienced their illegal practices.

        I too have experience harassment with cps. They call my job my references and indulge my personal business with them.  They call my job and told our receptionist at my job to tell me to clean out my car. Yes I still have a loan with them.

        I would love for you to contact me, I have had nothing but problems with them, they bought my loan from another company over 2 years ago i was not even notified until they said I was 4 months behind all the while i was making my payments to my original loan company when the loan was sold and CPS got it they started calling threatening to repo my car unless it was brought current. Now my loan was matured in December but they claim I still owe over 6000 plus late fees now they are trying again to repo my car in fact they have already reported to the 3 major bureaus that it is charged off and reposed  so how is it that i have my car and yet it is charged off.           I am a victims as well, I would really appreciate if someone would help me out on what to do about this,my payoff should be $5600 roughly and I just heard my pay off and their calculations   are much more then I expected. Now their saying that after july 26th, 2012 there will be a $4.01charge per day there after.that will increase my payoff another $1360 more add.these people are the worst I have ever have to deal with. They are very unprofessional. They are very disrespectful they ,also they always tend to say you owe late charges . Please advise in this situation.

            Someone help Cps is the worst finiance company ever I have over 30 voicemails in one week period of time they will call me from private numbers and leave the worst messages on your phone my statements are never correct they are the ripoff capital please avoid cos is u can

        I have been having problems with CPS since they purchase my auto loan from Fireside. They are reporting it as an installment loan on my credit report but the company itself is a debt collection company so now it appears that I have a 13000 loan in collections. I have had Horrible calls and they berate me on the phone when I am not even behind on my payments. They called a friend and harassed her trying to reach me and broke the law by disclosing info to her. She said that violated the FDCPA act six times and three of those was a supervisor named Anthony. She is following up her complaints with the Attorny General. I would like more info to forward my complaints as well. Any more fireside customers having issues?? Thank you. Sferg

          Hi all! My husband and I are financed with this company and its the worst we have ever dealt with. We had a bumpy few years and our credit was messed up but we are continuing to fix it..... My husband serves in the Army and has for 13 yrs. I lost my job so we are one month behind....they are calling everyone releasing info...leaving nasty messages.  When we try to talk to them they say "you cant have things in life free" and yell at us. And when you try to set up payment arrangements they say to late we are coming to your location have both keys and your tags off b/c we are coming to pick it up. they are so nasty. We have asked several times to move the due date b/c we cannot pay on the 1st and they refuse....and then [***] a $50 late fee every day for being late....we have over $500 in lates fees....its insane what this company gets away with. Who do you turn to when you have less then perfect credit?  We have to get away from this company!!!! HELP!

          Hi SFerg. My account was also transferred from Fireside. A couple of months ago I had a very bad altercation over the phone with a lady named Tanesha. Tanesha has absolutely no respect what so ever towards customers. I was trying to schedule 2 payments (1 late, 1 coming up) she told me I had to pay an extension fee of $25 dollars, and on top of that a fee for processing that payment. She kept calling my job at all times leaving horrible messages with the receptionist. Thank God the receptionist and I are friends, but at one point she started harassing her too, telling her to stop pretending to be me, to have the car ready for pick up. She eventually got tired of it and decided to speak to my manager. So we agreed the next time she would call, she would transfer Tanesha to my manager. Wow did that go bad, she started speaking over him and raising her voice. So for my own sake I told the receptionist that every time they call tell them I don't work there. I personally do not answer there phone calls anymore. I mean what's the point if she will not work with. She threatens, humiliates, yells, laughs at you because you don't have the money to make your payment on time. I try to make my payments before 30 days if I am running late. Honestly as a human being how can you treat people this way. There are so many people out there in need of a job and this is the type of people CPS hires. Anyhow I hope you respond back to my post.

          I am experiencing the same kind of harrassment.  If you have any info on suing them, or getting them off my back, i would like to know more... specially since you mentioned they are a debt collection company... that really caught my attention.  Because I noticed thats how the calls are answered, when I try to reach them...
          I just purchased my car in November, under an auto loan, and last thing I need is something on my credit report that says I owe a debt collection agency 18,000, and I am ready to give them back the car because they are horible, and threatening and harrassing me and my friends all the time.  I havent even had the car 1 month when they started harrassing me for payment.
          after reading all these reports I am scared and concerned about dealing with this company for years on end.
          may have to change my phone#  :O(  certainly interested in a class action suit.  cobbletts@zianet.com

        Vashonda.. i am dealing with them also. Yes, I haven't made a payment, because when I asked for a deferrment they told me no.. They call my parents, a former sister n law and HER friend.. how they even got that name, i don't know. It's neverending.

The threats, rudeness, hanging up on me, screaming into the phone and them telling me there is something wrong with me bc I'm trying to figure out why they are devoting my account without my permission.         i would like to be included in your class action suit against CPS. are any help you can give me on resolving my issue. I missed 1 payment in  feb 2007  it has been 5 yrs 8 mos at 450 mo. car was 12,566. auto pay  every mo. i still owe 1800.00 ..... I was told pay 1800.00  today and stop interest. 255 of 450 goes toward enterest. Oh credit score 356 last week  because 5yrs of late payments to cps. no other loans are credit cards just cps

        Yes this company calls my job back to back and are rude to my co-workers telling them that they are liars and making them verify the address so they can have a tow truck pick up my car.         Was there ever a lawsuit filed? I am seeing a lot of these comments are about 2 years old. I currently have an auto loan through cps and the harrasing phone calls, speaking to unauthorized third parties and straight out lying by representatives is getting unbearable. I literally had a rep rudely questioning how I eat and put gas in my car......is that really anyones business? Just interested to see if anything had been done. I'm currently looking into talking to a lawyer.

      I also have a nightmare situation with a HUGE car dealership working hand in hand with
      Consumer Portfolio Services, Inc.  ONE month after buying a new car, trading in my older
      car, the car dealership STILL had not paid off the balance owed on my trade-in.  Two months
      of payments passed on my trade-in and 2 days before my first car payment was due on the
      new car, some THUG came to my place of business, tried to intimidate me, threatened me,
      would NOT identify himself, HAD A SPARE KEY, waved paperwork all wadded up in my
      face, yet would not show me any documentation, and STOLE my car while I was with clients.
      I TOO was told I had 30 days to make my first payment and I have all the documentation
      indicating the purchase, trade-in, loan amount, payment amount, due date and so on.
      I DO HAVE AN ATTORNEY.  No one from the dealership would respond to my calls, emails
      or concerns about the pay off of my trade-in!  NOW THEY HAVE BOTH OF MY CARS AND
      I HAVE NO TRANSPORTATION AND NO ONE WILL ANSWER ME OR MY LAWYER!
      I called the sheriff.  The dealership could not ignore them.  THEY TOLD THE SHERIFF I WAS NOT MAKING PAYMENTS SO THEY HAD TO REPO THE CARS!!  THE SHERIFF TELLS ME IT IS
      A CIVIL MATTER Ma'm.    Anyone with concerns and issues, please email me immediately!!

        Wow! I'm so sorry to hear what you have gone through; however, I have trully expreienced a nightmare witth them as well, in which of the the postings listed.  The trip part about the whole issue's is when I requested to ask to speak to a supervisor, I was yelled at saying "No". This foreign man was extremely!!!!! rude, I just couldn't believe it.  He also made false documentation in the system like he had been trying to reach me, and he hadn't.  When I did contact them on my own free will, it was then, I was finally referred to another extension,(collection) and the woman claimed that the man which was the person assigned to my account noted/stated that he had been trying to reach so, my file had been closed.   I knew it was a lye about him trying to reach me, because, since being with them I've had other persons assigned to my account and they have both my husband and I cell numbers, home number, and our parents, and they said "No one has called me". POINT BLANK, HE LIED!!!!!

        Also, I too experienced, after purchasing my vehicle, immediately afterwards before the 30 days, I had to make a payment, after being told that I didn't have to make my first payment until after 30 days.

        Hey im going thru the same problem , they promised to pay a car as trade in in ten days after they got me stock with my two cars and i could pay so the repo both cars and now they suit me for the balance after they broke the contract my court day is tomorrow :(
