This scam has been operating here in Ohio for months.  They won't respond to the number on the web.  We are getting electronic messages 2 and 3 times a day.  How  may I get my phone number removed from these people? Karen Inman

Surely in this day and time, there's SOMETHING that can be done.  Automated dialing systems have a "back door" for administrative purposes... I use to hear that you could press 9 and hold it down to remove your number from their software, but obviously that doesn't work any longer (I've tried it).
Any IT experts out there that can recommend a back door approach?  It's given that FCC can't (or won't) do anything to stop this scam.

And again this morning. . .

Why are they not levying the fines?

This is completely insane, can nothing be done. . . .

And, for the record, I filed a complain with my state AG, and the FCC:

Rachel is calling constantly.  We don't ever have much of a balance to want to "take over".  I just want her to leave us alone!!

I’ve been getting the same automated message from "Cardholder Services" on my cell for about a year now. I’ve tried everything to get rid of them; from pressing 3, 9, speaking to the rep nicely to be removed, yelling at the rep, pretending I was a cop receiving these calls on my cell. Nothing worked until now! Two days ago I received the same automated message. I spoke to the rep and gave them a bogus name, told them i had two credit cards, one visa, on master, and that I had a total of 20,000.00 on them with a 19.99% interest. then I gave them a fake date of birth, fake zip code, fake last four of my SSN, and a "TEST CREDIT CARD NUMBER" that I found online. then they asked for the expiration date on my visa and the toll free number on back. When I asked why the rep told me "we need to call them up and verify your balance and that you made your last two payments" so I gave them a fake expiration date and the real phone number on the back of my card. The rep put me on hold for about two minutes then came back on the line and told me my credit card number was invalid, so I gave the rep another test credit card number and she put me on hold again. About a minute later the rep comes back on the line and started to yell at me telling me to quite playing around and that she did not have time for games! I replied “How does it feel!" and she hung up... I figured I would get another call from Cardholder Services in about two weeks as usually but to my surprise I got a call today, just two days later, from a live person asking for the Fake name i gave the rep two days before. The person on the phone, Stephanie told me that she could not give me the name of the company that gave her my number but could give my number to her boss to have it removed from the call list. The great thing is the number she called me up on is a real phone number, NOT A SPOOF!  The number was 407-398-1429. So everyone!!! CALL this number and tell them to have Cardholder services remove your number!

I've gotten calls in past two days from both "Card Holder Services" and now a new one, "Policy Holder Services".  They are contacting me by cell phone and by land line.  Is there not a government entity that is coordinating these complaints?

I kept getting calls from a man in California, said his name was Mr. Williams.  I told him I would have to record our conversation and he said I could not do that.  I told him if he could record me, I could record him.  He kept calling and I called him a really bad name.  Haven't heard from him in a few days.

The key is not to cuss them out or slam the phone down. You have to waste their time. These call centers live for fast results. You need to give them fake information and keep stringing them along until they give up. If they figure out that your number is going to suck up time without sales results, they will go away.

I keep getting these.  I am on the do not call. Verizon says it is not their problem and to change my number.  The phone number disappears--it won't show up in my call history so I can't block it.  So frustrating!!!! There must be something we can do.

I am sick of these idiots! I have been dealing with them for at least 18 months. It's either Rachel or Heather always. I have used the number 3 option to have me taken off, I have spoke to these idiots who hang up on me or are very rude. I am on the DO NOT CALL registry and sicker yet, I DON'T have a credit card and have told them that. After six of these idiotic calls today, I started screaming into their ears. I have had enough of this and something needs to be done. Maybe instead of fining them, if they fine them they should start paying us the fine. This is ridiculous.

    Just a suggestion...
Obviously the FCC is having a difficult time finding those responsible for these calls as they continue to pour in.

I bet the CIA would be more successful. My suggestion is this: when you get someone on the phone, start talking about things or mentioning keywords that might pop flags in federal wire tapping systems. Tell them that you disagree with the way they are funneling money to terrorists or accuse them of being a front for terrorist organizations.. (extra points if you name specific organizations) Remember, this is a 2 way street so don't say anything pro-terrorist lest you find yourself on the "do not fly list" instead of the "Do not call list".

Enough flags pop up, it might get them some unwanted attention from some alphabet agency that has better resources than the FCC. Considering at least some of these call centers are overseas and they are spoofing caller ID, the end results could be epic.

Put the Patriot Act to work for you!

I think I am going to get one of those air horns and press 1 to talk to them and when they answer blast it in the phone :) I think if enough people do this it will condition them to pain, After all a company like this with this many complaints can't be doing anything legal they are just trying to get information to steal your money and identity. I feel sorry for the people who fall for them and then get a call later that day again from them repeating the same [***].

    Old Person
I have been getting Cardholder Services calls for years.  I started pushing the number for a live person, then setting the phone down next to the tv on pretty loud.  They can listen to Judge Judy or whatever until they hang up.  When I hear the hangup tone on the phone, I hang up.  It at least wastes their time.

Great idea, Old Person. I think I'll do that next time I hear from Rachel.

I push the button to talk to a live person and then talk "Dirty" to them when the pick up.

I, too, get this same harassment, so I am trying this. The next time you get a call, push #1 to speak to an agent. Be prepared with a whistle, the kind basketball refs use. When one of their mental giants answers your call, blow HARD AND LONG, then hang up. Sooner or later they will get the message.
