I have filed a complaint with the FTC against these miscreants but do not expect any personal remedy from this - nor does the FTC offer a route through which personal redress may be sought. I have been on the Do Not Call list since it originated and have renewed my number on the Do Not Call list. I began receiving robo-calls from Cardholder Services as well as Credit Card Services since last winter. I receive a call every morning from one or another of these fraudsters. I have selected #3 to be removed from their call list numerous times. I have saved their numbers on my phone so that I might recognize the calls but multiple numbers are used in calling so I cannot possibly save them all to my phone book without deleting real contacts. I have spoken to representatives from Cardholder Services on a number of occasions but am always hung up on when I either ask that they cease and desist, when I inform them that I am on the National Do Not Call List or when I express a desire that they remove me from their lists. I am called EVERY DAY! I would sure love the financial compensation they are supposed to pay as penalty for each call they place to my number in violation of the Do Not Call List. Isn't that $50 a call? $50 a call at nearly 400 calls would be a nice $20,000. I want to devour them and all their kindred whole! Is that emphatic enough? I would be overjoyed to participate in any class-action lawsuit against them.

Violations are $500 to $1500 per call.

The robocalls are made to sift through and find likely victims to hand off to "closers".
They have to improve the odds to make it pay, or they wouldn't be making them.
The robocalls cost them virtually nothing, but tie up their people, and they can't swindle someone else.

Waste more of their people time than they are wasting of yours.

They've been pestering me on and off for about 2 years. They are calling using the internet - most likely Skype. I have Skype myself, it is the greatest invention when trying to communicate with out-of-state relatives and friends, but it can be easily misused for something like this. When dialing a US number, Skype assigns a temporary phone number to the call so the call comes up as something from the US - different every time. I am not sure of this but I believe Skype purchased to phone numbers and is rotating them among the users. And because the calls go through the web, the scumbags think they cannot get caught nor sanctioned. (Similar to those companies whose customer services is located in a foreign country - gosh, have I had my fair share trying to return and exchange a defective phone to Nokia...)

I think Skype might be more responsive than the FTC - haven't they just been bought out by a US company? (They originate in the UK.) If someone does the research, I am in! We'll need exact call times and phone numbers "Rachel" is calling from. It is not rocket science to capture the computer's IP address where the Skype account is registered or do something that sort to trace where the calls come from. I am assuming it will be multiple computers. I am just baffled - does anybody ever fall for something like this any more? And where are those guys who punked the Nigerian phone scammers back? (It was nasty but effective.)

Nothing works! Any number they tell you to push just doesn't work. They keep calling back with their final chance. I am on the do not call list, have pushed the number to be removed from their list and I do NOT have a credit card. The calls keep comin'.  I am at my wits end. They call during the day and in the evenings. There has to be a solution, I just don't know what it is.

I get these damn harrassing calls all day long on my home phone and cell phones. I have tried to "speak to a representivite" and they ask me if I have more then $3,000 in debt loans and I say no...they hang up..if I say, "let me speak to a manager" they hang up...if I press "3" to discontinue calls, it starts over again. I have just recieved my 2nd call in 5 minutes with caller ID saying different area codes.
WHY can't we get these #$^% to stop calling....

People, all of the numbers that you have listed with the exception of 1-800-218-8787 are spoofed numbers.  Frauduantly using someone else's number instead of their own.  How do I know?  They used my number to call me one day.  This is in violation of FCC and FTC rules (laws?).  FCC and FTC will not heed our complaints.  Nothing will be done by them to stop this.  The have no power to enforce the Do Not Call lists.
Shutting down the organization for a couple of days a year is not enforcement.  Fines of $1,000,000.00 are.

    Prove me wrong please.

I just received a call and explained to them that my number has been on both the Federal Do Not Call list and my states Do Not Call list for three years, the girl responded "the is no call list" and hung up.

    Nothing will be done.

I will now call the 1-800-218-8787 number 10 times a day, which will coast me nothing, but will cost them $.  Be sure to place *67 in front of their nomber, *6718002188787 to block your number from being displayed.

I have received this phone call 6 times a month. I pressed the number to stop calling asked them to remove my number asked to talk to a manager. Everytime I get hung up on. This needs to end! Is there a way to bill them for my time?

I have been getting calls from these cretins for over a year now.  I have asked many times to remove my number from their calling list citing the fact that I signed up for the GA do not call list.  Last time they called I let him ramble on and on and started asking a lot of stupid questions - finally told him that if he was going to waste my time I was going to waste his.  They called again almost immediately.  They called this AM and I tried a new tactic - I let a live person get on the line and I screamed bloody murder at the top of my lungs.  They may call again, but their ears will ring for a while after they do.  I have a very annoying whistle somewhere in my house, if I can find it, I'll give it a try.

I am also getting these calls at least  8 or 9 times a week and am tired of them, I called the FCC and they told me they are working on getting them stopped. They hang up when you try to tell them you are tired of being harrased and they have been calling late at nite and this is a nuisance call as far as I am
concerned. Now they are calling on my cell phone when I don't answer my home phone. I need to know how t stop these calls as I am sick and tired of them calling and disturbing me.

Why is it so hard for the FCC to shut these folks down? Blatant abuse of law, blatant fraud, non-stop calls! Argh!

They are spoofing their caller id, and probably robocalling from overseas, to hide from FTC and FCC.

FTC nailed one of these in a lawsuit several months ago, but the complaints started increasing again about 2 months ago.
