This scam has been operating here in Ohio for months.  They won't respond to the number on the web.  We are getting electronic messages 2 and 3 times a day.  How  may I get my phone number removed from these people? Karen Inman

They are based out of Atlanta, GA the numbers you get are fake numbers that they call from. when you answer and push 1 that dials their actual number in Atlanta where they are located.

Please do what you can to stop this harassment. They call me 7 days a week on my cell phone. I never invited this company to call my number. They called me from number 617-390-4562 today but as you are aware it changes frequently. Good Luck!

I had a friend suggest getting a loud whistle and blowing it in their ear when I finally get a live person on the phone.  Might not stop them, but at least I would get a little fun out of it.

Dont get mad get even...I simply pretend that Im very old or very stupid. This makes them think they have an easy mark. I ask them to hold while I go look for my file. I make some background noise while I go about my daily business. I make a game of seeing how long I can waste their time. I ask if i can put my library fine on this new account. I give them my credit limit not my outstanding balance. (I make up both. I yell at imaginary people in the background. My record in 17 minutes before they hung up. When they realize your old or crazy they take your number off the list.

I'm really tired of these calls but no number of complaints to the Florida DACS seems to do any good.  I'd be willing to bet that if we start canceling our phone service and let our provider know that it is because we are tired of these harassing calls, that something would get done and fast.

We have been getting calls for over a year. I've tried requesting removal, demanding removal, playing
along to waste their time. Here are two numbers that worked this morning,
     770 293 0268
     877 867 8511 (Jason Williams)
Calls were answered but whether solicitation stops or not remains to be seen.

I see from others comments this company has been harassing tax paying citizens since at least 2007 and nothing has been done except send them a polite letter asking them to cease.  I think its time someone in authority (whoever that may be) get up off their thumbs and go arrest this pyscho PITSKER.

After receiving many calls from Cardholder Services, I went to the Donotcall.gov website to file a complaint. Their link to the complaint page does not work! Maybe they've been getting too many complaints and decided to stop work. Time to get rid of these guys at the FTC and reduce our spending. Maybe they are in Las Vegas just like the GSA guys?

I thought we were the only ones being harassed.  There MUST be something we can do other than change out phone number which creates a whole lot of other problems.  I always knew the FCC was a toothless tiger and this proves it.  I will send in my complaint and copies to my congressmen but I don't hold out much hope.

“The Federal Communications Commission may impose monetary forfeitures not to exceed $11,000 for each such violation or each day of a continuing violation.” Can Government Protect Us Innocent Citizen Victims of Racketeering Activities, Other Crimes, Wrongdoings and Lesser Indefensible Violation Practices, including Fraud, Abuse, Waste, Violations of Civil and Human Rights, Violations of Civil Liberties and Other Ongoing Assaults against Humanity?  “No They Can’t” by John Stossel:

Here is vital empirical prima facie forensic evidence and related facts that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that “OUR ENEMY, THE STATE” (by Albert Jay Nock) Can’t Protect Us: Why Government Fails but Individuals Succeed when individuals and groups of individuals:
“Don’t get mad, get even and get PAID!  The abuse of consumers by the debt collection industry has skyrocketed in the last several years.  Federal and state regulators are slow to pursue actions against collection companies; it has now fallen on consumers to exact justice from abusive collectors.”
“This book is written with consumers in mind, primarily for those who have been harassed, or abused, by unscrupulous debt collectors.  Much of the information included are from my own real-life experiences.  I will show you how to identify illegal collection tactics, how to prepare evidence and how to file a lawsuit against debt collector.”
“The contents of this book are not for exacting revenge on legitimate debt collection companies, it is for exacting justice for consumers that have been abused by debt collectors.  If you are reading this book then you are probably at wits end and have been on the receiving end of bad debt collection tactics.  It is time to turn the tables on illegal debt collections and hit them where it hurts, in the wallet.”
“The big secret in the debt collection industry is that upwards of ninety-eight percent of legitimate consumer filed Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) lawsuits the collection company will settle before their case ever makes it to a courtroom.  Many times an offer of settlement is made as soon as the collection company files an answer to your complaint.  This is the collection industry “Achilles Heel.”
“The Process of collecting evidence and filing suit is not complicated or overly burdensome.  Anyone can do it.  One thing is certain, the bigger the collection company, the faster they settle consumer generated lawsuits.  More information available at SuingDebtCollectors.com”

“Sue Abusive Debt Collectors” and “Sticking It To Sue Happy Debt Collectors” by Allen Harkleroad:
“I look at being sued by a debt collector like this:  If you are going to sue me, you better have the proof and documentation to validate it.  It doesn’t matter if I owe the debt or not.  I am not an easy money target and after you read my book neither will you.”
“Allen Harkleroad may just be the most dangerous consumer in America for companies that treat people unfairly.  He has a long and distinguished history of sticking it to those who have treated him and other unfairly.”
“You can now take advantage of his thousands of hours of research and considerable experience and put it to good use in defending yourself against collections lawsuits.  Bottom line is that you as a consumer need to be prepared to stand up and assert your rights to protect yourself.  With Allen on your side you are on the right track.”  Chris Gleason, Esq., consumer protection attorney.”
Deceptive telemarketing pitch for "interest rate reduction", ignoring the Do Not Call list.  Probable scam.

According to this, they were already sited by FCC for violations.

Apparently you caught "Rachel" or "Michelle" or whoever, in an unusual moment of at least partial candor. The part about "working for a number of major credit card companies" is clearly an outright lie, but the part about getting your number from "generally available public records" is both true and an admission of breaking the law.

The 954 number is somewhere in Broward County (Fort Lauderdale), Florida.

I got another of these calls myself this morning, with no caller ID. I filed a complaint on the FCC website, Form 1088, which you can file online here. IF the call was identified as "Cardholder Services" (that exact name), be sure to reference FCC Order DA-07-977A1 (2007), which was the citation issued on 2007-03-02. Since they are continuing the illegal practices after being cited, they are liable for up to $11,000 per day in fines.

Here is a list of such citations:

Here is their citation in 2007:

Just filed probably the tenth complaint about Cardholder Services with the DNC Registry.  I told the DNC that if I resort to action against Cardholder Services, I will make sure that the DNC is named as a co-defendant because they have done nothing to stop these harassing phone calls.  I never receive a reply from the DNC, which makes me wonder if they even exist.

Cardholder Services reps just hang up on me when I politely ask them to remove me from their database.

STOP THE HARRASSMENT OF CARD HOLDER SERVICES! I RECEIVE AT LEAST 2 CALLS A DAY FROM DIFFERENT NUMBERS. I HAVE BEEN PUT ON THEIR NO CALL LIST BUT THIS LASTS FOR ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE THE HARRASSMENT BEGINS AGAIN. STOP CARD HOLDER SERVICES FROM THEIR SPECULATIVE AVTIVITIES AND INVASION OF MY PRIVACY NOT TO MENTION THE USE OF MY MINUTES.
MAYBE WE CAN START A LAWSUIT WHICH CLAIMS PAYMENT FOR THEIR USE OF OUR MINUTES. THE MINUTES MUST ADD UP TO DAYS OF TIME = MONEY!
