I want a refund of 29.99 back into my account

Supposedly I had a postcard I called on. They claimed I would be sent a package to read over and try out. I read over and I did not like it, I did not go on line.  I tried calling several times within the period and I could not get thru until today. A person named Lynne called me and went thru a speel that was never given to me and said she would cancel my order and she said no refunds. Well, I am now finding out this was a scam, once again and I would like to have my money refunded back to my account. That is all I want from this company. I am not in business or have any intentions of doing business.  Please refund my money

If their selling pitch was that you could read it over and try it, that implies you could return it for a full refund.  Their later claim that there are no refunds implies the first pitch was deceptive.

Their claim that you sent a postcard may also be a lie, since cold-calling telemarketers often claim the consumer asked for their call as an excuse to get around the Do Not Call list.

If they defrauded you, by deceptively failing to disclose their "no refund" terms, file a complaint with the U.S. Postal Inspector for mail fraud, and file a fraud dispute against the charge through your bank.  You would be wise to close your account due to fraud promptly to prevent additional fraud, since often scams that take your money up front also find some reason to keep taking it on a monthly basis.

You should also fraudulent telemarketing complaints with FTC, your state Attorney General, and their state Attorney General.

In general, anyone cold-calling you is out to scam you.  If you answer the phone and you don't know the caller, hang up.

Beware!  The company Smart Tools with website www.smarttools.net requires a userid and password, but there is no place to register. The postcard has no address on it and only a phone operator answers who does not know anything. Do not reveal any personal information.

The packet my wife paid for (3.90 postage) displayed the address for Smart Tools of 5120 W. Overland RD #178, Boise, ID 83705.  Has anyone determined if this s a good address or a drop box?

I just got off the phone with a lady introducing herself as "Jenny" and asking me to provide my credit card information so I can pay for the shipping charge of the "training packet".

I told her that I do not give out (under no circumstances) my credit card info to no one over the phone. She assured me that the call was fully secure and that my card would only be used for that purpose only.

She could not give me the physical address of "smart tools" but did mention that the company is located in Cheyene, Wy.

My suggestion....RUN FOR THE HILLS! LOL I am not doing business with no one in this fashion. just looking for a chance to make a decent buck.

My worry now is that they have my full name, address and phone number and God knows what else. I am even tempted to go to my bank and close out my debit card and open a new one just for security purposes.

they offer $400-$800 per claim filed, if this is legit
