They all lie.
When I register Bally, I ask can I cancel anytime. He told me I can cancel in 60 days. After 25 days later I went to cancel guy told me my membership canceled. A month later, I got a bill I went office back the guy told me he will told with office about my cancelation. A month later another bill came. I call customer service they told me I am not cancel and 60 days pass. I can't cancel now. After 1 hour discussion with customer service they told me I cannot do anything if I don't pay it will be destroyer my credit history.

If Bally's actually went out of business, I could understand it. But it didn't. I understand they are still in New York. Is there anything we can do? The local Blast club employees say there is a lot of anger among life members. I would like to get in touch with them.
Several days ago when my card was scanned at the front desk of what is now Red Fitness (as they bought the Ballys locations in Cleveland) the attendant said my membership was expiring that day and showed me on the computer screen the cost to renew. He said I didn't have to pay today and I said I'd think about it over the weekend.
On Monday I received what could be called a threatening letter from "Affiliated Acceptance Corporation" indicating that I was past due on my membership and that I needed to pay for another 1 year membership plus a $10 late payment fee, a $5.00 Credit Card Reclear fee, and a $15.00 Credit Card Decline fee. At the bottom of the letter it stated "This communication is from a debt collector..". I was feeling pretty helpless at this time thinking I'm having no choice but to pay for another year and also pay the unreasonable fees. Whoever heard of a 'Credit Card Reclear' fee or a 'Credit Card Decline' fee. Obviously a ploy to wring dollars out of me.
I got an attorney involved. He sent a strongly worded letter to both the Westlake Ballys and "Affiliated Acceptance Corporation" on my behalf demanding that Red Fitness throw out any idea of my owing them money. I'm waiting to see what happens and will give an update when I get some results.
Thank you
