Good luck on getting a refund. I ordered their free sample of colon cleanse, can't take it cause it triggers my IBS. I later received a full order with $89.51 being charged to my account. I refused it and returned it unopened. I called Customer service to cancel and they told me I'd receive a refund in 5-7 business days after they received it. Yesterday I read on their website (nubodi.com)that no refunds will be made on returned items. Are you kidding me?? Exactly what did I pay $89.51 for???? How can they DOOOO this???? Someone needs to know about this fraudulent operation.

I am so glad to hear of some1 who had success getting a refund. I hope BBB will be able to help me too. I did not want to argue with Alan at Nubodi. (No point wasting my time and my breath doing that.) But I hope this site will provide some insights to future Nubodi clients. I sure hope people will wisen up to Nubodi's unscrupulous business practice of letting you try their product for free then turn around and charge you $89.31c before you could shout "scam". Hubby said there s no such thing as "free" sample. (Should have listened to him.) By the way, Nubodi has changed their product line. Now they are advertising Extreme Acai Berry or Acai Berry 500. Same company. "Same wolf under another sheep clothing"

I too was charged $89.31 and requested to cancel. I have called four times to request a refund, on two occasions I was given a confirmation number and told not to worry, that my refund was being processed.  When I called today, I was told the refund was processed and I should receive a refund in 14 days.  I have now filed a complaint with the BBB online.

    Just an update.
I filed a complaint against Nubodi with my CC company and BBB. BBB just forwarded a mail from them saying they will refund my $89.31 if I return the 30days' bottle to them. Will let you know if they are true to their word. My CC company actually got them to refund the S & H of 3.95 for the free sample too. What I can't understand is, why do they put us through all the hassle of filing complaints with different authorities? Why can't they just refund our money when we call up to cancel our subscription? Why do they want all these bad publicity for? If they have a good product n practice good business ethics, clients will flock to buy their stuffs without so much "unnecessary advertisements." Some people are plain wicked. Sigh. As Abraham Lincoln said,
“You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time." AMEN.
I hope all of you get your refunds. Good luck.

Just a line to let all of you know that I got my refund from Nubodi. Yipee. What I did was lodge a complaint through my credit card company as well as Florida BBB 2 weeks ago. (See my previous postings) Then when I received their 1 month supply (which came last week), I returned it (cost $1.69 via USPS)unopened to their Nevada HQ, according to their instructions to BBB. As of today, $3.95 (S& H for the sample - this refund was a bonus) and $89.31 (1st month supply) was credited to my credit card. I have also suspended my credit card to ensure no more unauthorized billings from now onwards.
Btw, if you are interested in the Acai Berry, you can purchase it from Target. Cost less than $10 per 120 tabs' bottle.

I'm glad I found this site. Btw, thanks for the tips, Brett & Mike.  Good luck to the rest of you. I have learned my lesson. ;o)

Yeah- They are nothing but a bunch of scammers. These companies should be shut down!!!!!!!! The whole company is a joke!Don't ever think that a 3.95 trial is a deal, cause they 'lll screw you in the end....

Kenzie....I understand the terms and conditions.  I also ordered the products free trial for $3.95 and yes I recieved the bottle!  Inside the bottle is a piece of paper that indicates to call "where here to help!"  that would be "We're here to help!"  How is a person supposed to feel comfortable putting a pill in their mouth when the marketing company doesn't even use spell check?  That's horrid!  In addition, like most people I only have a cell phone, when it takes 20+ minutes for a representative to answer the phone, who can afford $80+ a month for the product.  Not the easiest way to sell a product if nobody answers!  Do you have a different contact?

I too was scammed by this deceptive practices company. I got a "free sample" with no paper documentation and nothing in the ad saying it was an automatic order. There was not a scrap of paper indicating I was signing up for a plan. I was billed $89.31 also. My credit card company said to return the pills certified receipt, wait 30 days for a refund if if it doesn't happen, they will dispute it as returned merchandise. Watch out and don't order acai berry pills from anyone. The ad was Oprah endorsed.

YOU CAN BET THAT EVERY COMPANY THAT OFFERS A FREE SAMPLE ON THE INTERNET
IS A SCAM. THE PATTERN IS ALWAYS THAT IF YOU WILL PAY THE SHIPPING, YOU
GET THE SAMPLE FREE. THEY ARE BETTING THAT YOU HAVE NOT READ THE FINE
PRINT TO SEE THAT IF YOU DO NOT "CANCEL" IN TEN TO FIFTEEN DAYS THAT YOU
HAVE AUTHORIZED THEM TO START SENDING YOU THE PRODUCT MONTHLY AND BILLING
YOU CREDIT CARD FOR A MUCH HIGHER PRICE THAN YOU WOULD OTHERWISE BEEN AGREEABLE TO. I AM WORKING ON A CASE OF MY OWN RIGHT NOW REGARDING NUBODI
OF DAVIE FLORIDA AND THEIR EXTREME ACAIBERRY. I FELL FOR THE WHOLE THING
WHICH I HAVE DONE BEFORE. WHEN WILL I LEARN. THE DEAL IS, "ALWAYS CALL THE
COMPANY AND ASK WHERE YOU CAN SEND YOUR POSTAGE IN CASH. NONE OF THE SCUM
BAGS WILL ACCEPT IT IN THAT MATTER.

TO CANCEL, CALL THE COMPANY, CANCEL BY PHONE, GET A CONFIRMATION NUMBER.
IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE, SEND THEM A CANCELLATION NOTICE AND SEND IT
CERTIFIED. THEY HAVE SOME BS REASON WHICH SAYS YOU REQUESTED WHAT EVER.
BE SURE TO FILE A REPORT ON RIPPOFF WEBSITE AND YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S
OFFICE. IF YOU NEED HELP, PLEASE CALL ME AT 210-545-7412. MY WIFE IS ANN
MILLER MY NAME IS BOB MILLER. I AM GOING AFTER THE TEXAS STATE LEGISLATURE
TO STOP THE INTERNET SCAM ARTISTS AND REQUIRE WARNINGS ON THEIR HOME PAGES
OF THESE TRICKS THEY USE TO GET YOUR MONEY.

I ordered an Extreme AcaiBerry free-trial and was encountered the same problem as you guys did. But thanks to Lynn's and Chris from Philly's posts, I'M GETTING MY MONEY BACK!!!

I filed my complaint to 2 organizations, the BBB and the FTC on 09/17/08 and today there's a call from BBB updating my new complaint ID. I just checked it out a min ago and found out that I got the refund, WHOOPIE ^^~..

This is the detail of my complaint:

    Complaint Description - Posted 9/17/2008 7:00:00 AM

I saw their website on my facebook.com. It was printed in bold on top of the website that they'd sent me a 14-days free-trial product for just $3.95 of shipping and handling and that's it. So I gave my name and other details they needed, including my debit card number. On 08/28/08, I received a bottle of 15 tablets free-trial procuct, and they deducted $3.95 for shipping and handling from my checking account and that was fine. But on 09/12/08, I received the same product again (in 60-pills bottle). I checked my bank a/c and $89.31 was deducted on 09/09/08. I called their call center at 1-801-208-7485 and told them I didn't want the product, I'd tried the sample but I didn't like it, I hadn't touched the one they'd just sent, I wanted to return and get a full refund. I called twice, they said I have to call within 14 days to cancel the order and it's their policy not to accept the return of any product that has been shipped. They said these were mentioned in Terms&Conditions on the page. I went back to check, and yes it was really there, but just a tiny link at the bottom of a very long long page that could be easily overlooked. It was absolutely nowhere on the ad's first page did it say that further products would be sent or that anything else was required from me after this trial offer. The customers could be misleaded by this sort of ad. The cancel policy is a significant condition that should be properly provided somewhere that can be easily noticed by customers.

    Complaint Summary

I was misleaded by their free-trial ad on the internet and ended up paying $89.31 for the product I don't want.
    Resolution Sought

I will return the product, on my own expense, in excellent condition with untouched bottle seal, and I want them to refund in full amount of $89.31 to the same bank account which was deducted.

I found an unsolicited charge on my credit card from Wellness MD.  When I called to ask who or what I bought, they said I ordered from them via the internet.

Wellness Watchers MD is connected with Nubodi, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, FL - aka Extreme Acai Berry of Davie, FL.

Their game is getting customers' credit card information by luring them into a very modest purchase.  Mine was a $3.95 trial bottle of Acai berry, a diet supplement.  Then, they say that your purchase was also an agreement to continue being charged $89.31 monthly.  You should call a number to cancel, but the phone number is bogus, and when you call you're just on hold for a long time.  No one answers.

Furthermore, their "Privacy Policy" states that they share and also sell your information to others.  Therefore, you are forced to do as I did: (1) alert your credit card company and cancel the card too, (2) put an Alert on your credit, (3) file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, Better Business Bureau, Consumer Protection Agency, Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) complaint form:  https://complaint.ic3.gov/ctf.aspx, Phonebusters, National Fraud Information Center (NFIC), Identity Theft Assistance Center (ITAC), etc.

I am filing complaints with as many of these agencies as possible to catch Internet sharks such as these.

Well, thanks to this discussion board, I just went ahead and canceled my Bank of America Visa card BEFORE I get ripped off for $89.31. BOA was NOT helpful at first. They would not put a stop payment against these people so I said fine, just cancel the whole damn account and because of their lousy "customer service," I refused their offer to reissue a new card. Don't wait around and get ripped off time and again. Your bank or credit card company MUST honor your request to cancel a credit or debit card. They should be able to obtain a refund if you have already been fraudulently charged.
