September 25, 2010, my MC was charged $24.95 without my knowledge or authorization. I called SEM budget Savers and complained. I was told I would be credited. Let's see if they do.

This company, or whoever they are, charged my bank account 3 times. Once for $1 and twice in one day for $29.95 thus overdrawing my account. I did NOT authorize this automatic withdrawal and I insist on my money back PLUS the overdraft fee charged by the bank!

How can these people get away with charging $29.95 a month for NOTHING?  I have had this charged 4 months.  I don't even know how this started, and I sure am mad that they are doing this to so many people!!!!

After I ordered uglu on the internet I was charged $1.00 than charged $29.95. It was taken out of my checking account without my knowing.  I want it back into my checking account right away.  I am going to call my bank tomorrow and see if I can have this stopped.  I don't want nothing to do with BUDGET SAVERS!!!

Called the 800-475-1942, got memebership services, complained about the charge and had what ever I signed up for cancelled and asked for refund. Was told that I would see the refund in 3-5 days

If you dispute charges with SEM Budget Savers, be ready for a long fight.  I disputed two charges for $24.95 back in December of 2010.  The money was refunded and everything was fine, until mid January of 2011, when the two charges were taken back out of my account.  I called the 800 number and was informed that they had proof that I had authorized the charges (even though it was an ex roommate that had used my card without my permission.) They even claimed that they "Have a voice recording with me authorizing payment"  In all of the years that I have been purchasing products online, I have never ONCE had to provide a "Voice confirmation" for any of them.  The most I have ever had to provide was a "digital signature" which in my opinion, is about as worthless as calling them and telling them that I'm who I say I am.  They can't prove it.  Long story short, two months after I noticed the charges, I'm still fighting with them to get my money back, and will continue to fight them until I do.

What I believe what happens is that when a purchase is made through some of these big companies for small purchases like a knife for example or in my case a 1 dollar 30 day trial membership with Student Advantage, they will get you tied up with other charges. Meaning that at first you might not be charged with the $29.25 but after a certain time if you don't call to cancel the the account then it will be as if you are acknowledging to them that you want take part in their services, even if you might not have any use for them. I also called my bank about this issue and they directed me to SEM*Budget Savers' number and I canceled the account and got a refund. Which usually take about 3 business days to actuate. Bottom line is don't purchase anything without full knowledge of any hidden future charges. SEM*Budget Savers are the ones that make the withdrawal but it starts from the purchase of products from other companies so be ware!

This same thing is happening to me.  I have filed a complaint with my bank, & they have looked into it & credited the money back in my account. The third time it happened which is this month, I called the bank & asked why are these charges being allowed to come thru.  They said that they would cancel my credit card & issue a new one. Fraud dept is going to follow up on this company.  I do not know who they are, nor am I receiving anything to justify the charge. We are retired & this is a BIG Deal to us financally.  Please, everyone examine you statements carefully, report anything you do not understand.

I'm with you on this one.  Who are they anyway?  How do they get our information.

I just had the same thing happen to me also.  I had a similar situation as RA...I authorized the $1 charge on a phone call I rec'd after ordering Depi-silk.  I discovered the charge of $30.19 on my bank acct.  I had not rec'd any information to look thru, etc.  So, I didn't have the phone number to call Budget Savers to cancel.  I called Depi-silk customer svc and they provided me w/a list of 800#'s, they weren't sure which one sold me the information.  I finally got ahold of the people & they were very rude.  They cancelled my "membership" but refused to refund the $30.19.  I told them that I not rec'd their information & they said they were real sorry about that, but offered nothing.  So, I called my bank & got the paperwork started thru them to get my money back.  The bank told me if I filed a police report to bring it in.  But I am not sure what type of police report that I am supposed to file??  I am so frustrated!!

You are correct in that they deliver nothing! From what I can see
when you join they give you 5 days in which to "try out" the products, promise you a 100 gas card(free)after you receive "nothing" I have received nothing and it has been over two weeks. You add the 5days on and it is very close to when they will bill you. I cancelled and even told them I did not want the gas card.  I do not trust this company. I think I am done ordering anything online. It isn't worth whatever they are selling.

I also got 'taken' for this scam!  I called Chase and that delightful lady actually called (conference) for me to get these charges stopped and money refunded!!  I most certainly did not apply for any of these!

I got charged as well :( however I called the 1-800-475-1942 number and it "supposedly" got cancelled, in less then a minute.  I guess I'll have to wait until next month to see if it worked.

Thanks to this blog info, I think I've figured out how I was also ripped off by this scam.
I ordered some dental care for my aging dog from a commercial on TV.  I was HOUNDED by pushy phone solicitors and kept saying NO NO NO to everything.  I had NO idea I would be charged for some "membership".  I only discovered it after 8 months on my credit card, which by the way, does not show all my activity on the Online statement, so didn't catch it until much later.  I have spent 3 weeks disputing it and got nothing but false promises and false info from the BUDGET SRV rip off people.  I'm still waiting for the second promise of a form to request a full refund of over $200.  I URGE EVERYONE AFFECTED BY THIS RIP OFF TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE.  THIS IS UN-AMERICAN AND FRAUD AT IT'S SLEEZIEST!!!!!
