Received 3 calls from these guys from 559-328-2353 at my office claiming to be some kind of Official US Branch of Govt. Anyways I called them to see what this was all about, and they couldn't get their names straight, So I asked for their address and the guy just hangs up. Its a SCAM of some kind for sure so don't fall for it.

    My wife got one and passed it on to me from a Michel Davis a few weeks ago by the time I called it is was just a busy signal! Everyone should know one rule of thumb! This is not how the govt contacts you!!  SCAMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!

      I forgot the phone number was from a number 347-894-5932 from the dept of legal affairs of US Factory. Honestly that doesn't even make sense. Sorry if this isn't politically correct but thats [***] and they are [***]!!

    Just got a call from 866-844-5376 feeding me the same information about having legal action taken against me. When I asked what it was regarding he was snippy and said he can't reveal that information to me. He had a very old address of mine as well. When you file taxes the IRS is up to date with where you're currently living. Total scam. Asked him where I should "call back" and he gave me the same number he was calling from. I asked who I needed to speak with and very muffled he said "John Smith". Scam scam scam. Glad I found this post.

      I received one just the same yesterday, August 18, via my voicemail. Name he provided was "Chief" Hernandez with the US Bureau of Legal Affairs! Didnt sound Hispanic or Latino either like HERNANDEZ surname would infer. Sounded Middle Eastern instead. I suspect his method of trying to devirt from Middle Eastern as he obviozsly not caucasion and if provided name originating from his own ethic background would perhaps offer a clue to his identity. So, I believe its an intentional act to alure suspicions toward a different ethnic group than his own. But clearly a scam and fraud attempt and it's no secret either. Negative comments all over the WWW about this and I have a very good tecording of 'his' or at least 'the voice' used. I hope he does call back as I am asking authorities to get involved, but local law enforcements are very relzctant to get involved until after the DAMAGE is done and then such involvement is usually limited to taking a statement and creating a file. They simply have not the resources nor expertise to track these types down. Further, at my juncture, although there is obviously an underlying intent of malice; the caller technically has not broken the law, with the exception of not correctly identifying himself but unfortunately I cannot assert that factually , only by suspicion and supposition. This to me is so clearly an act with ultimate fraudulent intent. But, undoubtedly some folks are getting duped or otherwise this idiot would stop

    keep getting these calls from guys I cant even understand, purporting to be from IRS, giving English names, and telling me there are pending charges against me and IRS is going to take my home, drivers license and put me in jail and take me to court etc if I do not pay $5000 .. Is this the payday loan people?? if it is they otta be ran out of the country. I even get emails showing me documents that are supposed to be arrest warrants with all kinds of misspellings and improper English.  Why cant someone do something. I would think impersonating an IRS official; would be a federal crime. They don't even try to block their number, this one is 206-238-0123, he gave me the last name of Walker. I never met anyone by the last name of walker that talked like and East Indian!!!!!!

    I just had a call from 866-901-7869. The man said he was feom the Dept of Legal Affairs and there was a claim against me and I needed to respond now. I told him I knew it was a scam. He said if I did not respond now I would have to suffer the consequences.
    I told him my husband was a lawyer and we were coming after scamers. He hung up so fast. I decided to call back and ask for his address. He hung up 3 times. On the 4th call he gave me the address of 77 K St. N.E. Washington, D.C. I am sl sick of these calls. I am on the do not call list, but it doesn't help.

    this is such a scam! they keep calling my cell, I never call back, very thick accent, threatening legal action, I have delt with the irs before, they always mail everything! don't call them, they are scam artists out of country

    I just received three calls from these scammers! I did not even call back. I checked the number and thanks to the above posts my suspicions were confirmed!

    I got this call today. Gave me the name of William Clark (strong Indian accent). Called from 866-985-8072. I knew it was a scam based on voice mail left talking about getting lawyer on retainer. Nice try I pay my bills!

      Same name - William Clark - Indian accent.  Legal Affairs with US Treasury.  Left polite voicemail but so strange.  Hoping I would call back and he repeated the number to call (202) 459-9847.  We pay taxes, bills & work for the military.  Lame.

    Heavy Indian accent with the name Maria Shmidt ??? Number she gave me was 866-996-2155.  I immediately check online about this kind of calls and luckily found this site and learned that such calls are scam.

    866-985-8414 Same message from a James Clark India accent said he was from Department of Legal Affairs.  Did not return his call.  Not in trouble in the United States not alone India.

    I got the same calls this was a lady saying that I need to have retainer ready when I call back they even say my name wrong  the number is 1866 4915748 hope some one find who the people are an have them put in jail .hope this helps some on else out I didn't call back

    Received the same call today, almost verbatim to above, except it was a Philippine woman with a thick accent, with "Dept of Legal affairs", with these two numbers associated - made from 718 673 3634; said to call 206 687 9886.  Then she ended message with "have a blessed rest of your day". Hah!!!

    I played along. Guy gave my name and address. Said there was a warrant for my arrest, since I haven't responded to their previous calls. I replied with, First of all, I've been remarried for 2 years with a different last name then what he stated, filed taxes both years with new name, why don't you know that ? And second of all, I just served on a jury, Pretty sure if I had a warrant I wouldn't be here talking to you. He hung up before I could finish my comment... I tried to call back, busy signal is all I get..

The number to reach me is 866-985-8070, I would suggest you have your retain attorney to do it for you, as delay in calling us might end up into a legal mess for you.       I got the same message from same number only it added, they were calling because of a "law enforcement  action against my name".  Thank got I found this post, not even going to call back. Man had an Asian accent said his name was David smith and didn't speak with any American accent.
