Telephone number shown on caller ID is 208-864-5339.  I am registered on the "Do Not Call" list and have been for years; however, this bogus company continues to call regardless of what I do.  It begins with a   recorded message "This is Heather of Account Services; I am calling regarding your credit card account.  Consider this your last chance to take advange of this offer.  If you do not wish to receive these calls, please press 2 now.  If you wish to speak to a representative, press 1 now."  I have pressed "2" numerous times but they continue to call.  I have pressed "1" and asked the "representative", a man, to stop calling me.  I have asked to speak to his manager, etc.  When I dial the 208 number, I get a recording, made by the man who I talked with, saying that the number has been changed and to check the directory.  Obviously this message is not recorded by the telephone co.  I am trying to find out the name of the company.

I've gotten the "Account Services" call the last few nights. They got mad and hung up on me tonight. Just to be clear, the number isn't 208 area code in the us, it is 011 44+ 208-XXX-XXXX (we also got one from code 207). Anyhow, these numbers are from London, and if I had to guess they are probably just stolen cell numbers.  I doubt there is much you can do, unless somehow you manage to find out who the person in the US actually is (I detected NO strange accents with the person I spoke to, so I assume they are more local than London).

She kept insisting that I give her my phone number, so I suspect that the system doesn't splash it on her screen. Maybe I'll bait them a little more next time.

Same deal. I pressed 1 to talk with somone and then asked where they are. "Georgia"
I started my "I registered rant" but she put me on hold forever. I don't have caller ID.
Hope to get rid of this land line as soon as I can get naked DSL - DSL with no corresponding land line. They ain't yet found my cell #

I just got one of these calls right now. My cell phone caller ID read "442-088-135519". That is not any type of number we have in North America.
When I asked "Heather" of "account services" what the name of her company was, she hung up.
The accent was inner city hip-hop US.

    Thanks for posting about this.

I've been getting several of these calls over the past several weeks. Now that it seems that these guys are scamsters, it's time for me to move from polite queries "What's your callback number? What is the name of your organization?" What's your web site?" (that they hang up on) to abuse.

I hate to do this to fellow humans, but they've not answered my legitimate questions several times now. Since their official policy seems to be to provide no identifying information or callback numbers, they've earned their abuse. They do keep calling me.

The bad part about it is you can't do any thing about it.
      Except not answer the phone

These are not "fellow humans" they are diseased scum.  I have been getting these calls from different numbers for months.  The FCC DNC complaints I have done all end up the same. "Not enough information to act" is the FCCs reply.  By all means everyone file a complaint with your local Attorny General.  I will be doing so.  I also file complaints with the FCC not just the DO NOT CALL complaint email.

You are wasting your time I have filed at least 15 complaints with the FCC. The only way you may get some results is to file a formal complaint , You will have to get a lawyer to do that

I have been getting these calls for months. I've pressed 2 a ton of times. I got a call yesterday and finally decided to talk with them. I talked with a lady. I asked her lots of questions.

What company she was from? - Credit Services - said she was from OH.

How does all this work? - She wanted to know if I had balances above $5000 and with who. I was careful not to give her any specific information.

If I don't do business with you, then how do you know about me? - She told me that one of my credit card companies probably gave them the information

She tried to find out how much my interest rates were. I gave her fake answers to keep her on the phone.

I asked multiple times how they made money. She said there would be no "out of pocket" expenses for me. She explained that they will contact my credit card companies and somehow get them to lower their rates.

At the end of the call I told her that I was convinced this was some kind of scam and would she please remove me from the calling list.

I got a call today from the same stupid company. I asked another lady named Crystal how on God's green earth I could be removed from this stupid calling list! She replied to me by calling me stupid. I swore at her and hung up the phone. *sigh*

Oh I forgot! Here are the numbers I was called from.

Sept 25 208-894-8041 (already disconnected - according to the message, but I bet anything that it is fake)

Sept 26 208-850-3992 (your call has been forwarded to an automated voice call in system.  It lets you leave a message but that's it)

They've called me many times with various caller ID numbers.  I've pressed '1' and talked to a "human" 4 times.  In all 4 times they hung up on me.  Two of the times I was real nice and said "may I have your phone number please'. Once the girl said "so you can report us, right!" and then hung up. They clearly know they are violating the law and don't care.

Would love to know what to do about this. I have gotten the call at least 20 times.  The last time I was told I was costing the caller money when I asked questions about company name and number. I WISH the warning about "consider this your final notice" were valid.

They are calling me every day. I finally got a person to speak to by pressing #1. The guy could tell I was angry and would not say what company he is calling from.
They call every few months and telling them to stop does NOTHING!

I wish I would have seen this BEFORE I gave them one of my credit card numbers and the last 4 of my social =( I knew something was wrong when I asked the man on the phone his call back number and got disconnected after hearing "it's 1-800". I immediately called the credit card company that I had given them and reported it and closed/cancelled along with adding a credit/fraud reporting company to make sure they couldn't use the information I stupidly gave them. I'd like to know how these people haven't been caught and shut down by now as I'm seeing there are complaints here from as early as 2007. I will say this tho I am anxious for them to call back, not sure what I plan to do yet but I'm sure I'll think of something good to mess with them! Does anyone know what else can be done about this?

The only thing you can do is report the telephone number to FTC, FCC & Attorney General's office.  They have complaint forms on-line you can fill out.  If you don't have the telephone number, you can still report the call and include the date and time of the call.  These people have been around forever and will continue to be around.  They spoof their caller ID number which they change every day anyway in order to not be caught.  But report it because no one in government is going to do anything unless massive amounts of complaints are filed.  Good luck.

I've gotten several calls from "Account Services" and have attempted to talk to a representative each time. I say "attempted" because the representative always hangs up on me, whether or not I go through the whole "this number is on the Do Not Call list" spiel. This morning I cut right to the chase and asked to speak with the representative's supervisor. She said "Sure!" quite brightly... and promptly hung up on me.

I have received this call 8 or 10 times and have hung up.  I'v pressed #2 to have the calls discontinued and also pressed #1 and talked to young lady yesterday, ask her to take my number off there call list.  Today I received a call again, same recording, I pushed #1 someone answered by the name of Randy and when I ask again to have my number taken off he kept called me a Nag.   I dialed #69 but there phone number was blocked.  I am on the National Do Not Call Registry.  You can't file a complaint unless you have the company name and phone number.  Ha Ha! What good is it.
